"Kid, once you go there and train under Kami, you'll definitely become much stronger!" Master Roshi encouraged, trying once again to persuade him.
"I'm not going," Broly said, shaking his head.
"I don't want to become stronger. I just want to eat well and sleep well."
Master Roshi was speechless.

"Then I'll leave now," Son Goku said.
"I can't keep Kami waiting."
He looked at Broly again.
"Broly, you really don't want to come?"
"No," Broly replied calmly.
"Well… fine," Master Roshi sighed helplessly, waving his hand.
"Goku, you go by yourself."
Everyone followed Goku outside to the beach in front of Kame House.
Calling the Flying Nimbus
"Flying Nimbus!"
Goku stood still and called toward the sky.
"Whoosh!"
A brilliant golden cloud rushed across the horizon and stopped in front of him.
Goku jumped lightly onto it.
"Everyone, I'm off!"
Standing on the cloud, he waved to the group on the beach with a bright smile.
"Have a safe trip, Goku!" everyone shouted back, waving.
Then Goku looked toward the porch.
His gaze landed on Broly.
Broly was still sitting there casually, eating dumplings from a bowl.
"Broly."
"What?" Broly lifted his head from the bowl, confused.
"If I train under Kami," Goku said seriously,
"then once I'm done training… how about we have a real fight?"
His eyes were filled with excitement.
He clearly longed for a thrilling battle.
"No interest."
Broly rejected him instantly without hesitation.
In Broly's simple worldview:
Why fight for no reason?
It's tiring.
It's troublesome.
And it might dirty your clothes and ruin your appetite.
Eating good food and sleeping well—
That's the true meaning of life.
Goku's expression froze.
He knew Broly well enough to understand that this wasn't cowardice.
Broly simply had no interest in fighting.
Goku's Promise
"But Broly," Goku said after regaining his composure,
"you should train with Grandpa a bit too."
"Otherwise, when I come back from Kami's place… I might surpass you!"
"No," Broly replied again.
"That sounds boring."
To Broly, becoming stronger was less interesting than the last dumpling in his bowl.
"Hahaha! You're still the same Broly I know!"
Goku burst out laughing.
"You haven't changed at all!"
"Well, I'm going now!"
"See you all after I get stronger!"
With that, Goku focused his mind.
The Flying Nimbus shot upward like a golden beam.
Soon he disappeared into the sky.
Back at Korin Tower
Not long later, thanks to the speed of the Nimbus, Goku returned to the towering Korin Tower.
Korin was still waiting there with his staff, smiling kindly.
Yajirobe lay on the ground nearby, rubbing his still-bloated stomach.
"You already said goodbye to everyone?" Korin asked warmly.
"You're pretty fast."
Yajirobe sat up and looked at Goku with surprise.
"Already finished?"
"Yep," Goku nodded as he landed.
The Path to Kami
"Now," Korin said, pointing his staff toward the top of the tower,
"take your Power Pole and go to the center of the tower's summit."
"Yes!"
Goku pulled out the extendable staff from his back.
Under Korin's guidance, Goku and Yajirobe walked to the very edge of the tower's top platform.
"See up there?" Korin pointed with his staff.
"There's a slot. That's the entrance to the path leading to Kami's Lookout."
"Insert your Power Pole there."
Goku looked down and saw a groove that perfectly matched the end of the staff.
He carefully inserted the Power Pole into it.
"Once the staff extends upward," Korin explained with a smile,
"it will stretch all the way up to the floating Lookout in the sky."
"I understand!"
Goku took a deep breath.
"I'm going!"
Yajirobe's Concern
"Hey, wait!" Yajirobe suddenly shouted.
"If you're going to meet the legendary Kami…"
"Isn't it rude to go wearing those torn clothes?"
"Maybe you should change first?"
"It's fine," Korin interrupted with a mysterious smile.
"They'll just get torn again anyway."
"Why would you say that?" Goku asked, confused.
"Is Kami… someone scary?"
"No, not at all," Korin said, shaking his head.
"He's a very kind and noble person."
"But…"
"He might test you a little."
"Test my strength and determination?"
"Well… something like that."
"Don't worry," Korin added.
"You won't die."
Yajirobe grimaced.
"That still sounds dangerous!"
Goku Begins the Climb
"It's fine," Goku said confidently.
"I already decided to go."
"No point backing out now."
He grabbed the Power Pole tightly.
"Power Pole!"
"Extend!"
"SHOOOM—!"
The staff vibrated softly.
Then it began extending upward at incredible speed.
It shot toward the sky like a rocket.
Goku held onto it as the wind roared past him.
His hair flew wildly behind him.
His clothes flapped violently.
Higher and higher he soared.
Watching from below, Yajirobe craned his neck and sighed.
"That guy looks way too excited…"
"He doesn't seem scared at all."
