The canyon trembled as the Ogre Warlord roared with fury. Its massive axe slammed into the ground again, sending cracks spreading across the rocky battlefield. Dust filled the air. Broken weapons and fallen hunters lay scattered everywhere. But in the center of the battlefield—Kai Draven stood calmly. Behind him, the dark Shadow Wolf growled silently, its glowing eyes fixed on the towering boss. The hunters watching from a distance could barely believe what they were seeing. An E-Rank hunter… Standing against a B-Rank boss. Even Marcus Hale whispered under his breath. "...Who is this guy?"
The Ogre Warlord lifted its axe again and charged. Each step shook the canyon floor. The massive weapon swung horizontally, powerful enough to cut a human in half. But Kai moved. His body blurred. He ducked under the attack and dashed forward. His dagger flashed. Slash! The blade cut across the warlord's leg. The monster roared. It wasn't a deep wound—but it was enough to anger the beast. The warlord punched downward. Kai jumped back just in time. The ground exploded where he had stood. Behind him, the Shadow Wolf lunged at the boss. It bit into the warlord's arm. The monster crushed the shadow with its fist. But as before—The shadow simply reformed from darkness. Kai nodded slightly. "Good distraction."
Predator Instinct
Kai activated his skill. Immediately, glowing marks appeared on the warlord's body. Weak points. Neck. Knees. Heart. But the monster's thick armor made them difficult to reach. Kai needed the perfect moment. The warlord raised its axe again. Kai suddenly rushed forward. But instead of attacking—he jumped onto the monster's arm. The hunters watching gasped. "He climbed it?!" Kai ran up the warlord's massive body. The monster tried to shake him off. Too late. Kai reached the warlord's shoulder. His dagger pierced deep into the glowing mark on its neck. The warlord roared in pain. But the wound still wasn't fatal. The boss monster grabbed Kai with its massive hand. Marcus shouted in panic. "KAI!" The warlord squeezed its fist. Bones should have shattered. But Kai activated Ogre Strength. His muscles hardened. He twisted his body and slipped free from the monster's grip. Then he jumped down to the ground again. Kai breathed slowly. This boss was tougher than expected. But the system suddenly appeared again. Boss HP: 32%
Kai smiled slightly. "Almost." The warlord roared and charged again. But this time—Kai wasn't alone. The Shadow Wolf attacked from the left. Kai attacked from the right. The boss turned toward the shadow first. That was the mistake. Kai jumped. His dagger glowed slightly as it aimed for the final weak point. Straight into the warlord's heart. The blade pierced deep. For a moment—everything went silent. Then the massive body of the Ogre Warlord froze. Cracks spread across its stone-like skin. The monster slowly collapsed. The ground shook violently. The B-Rank boss was dead. The canyon became completely quiet. Every hunter stared at Kai. No one spoke. Because what they had just witnessed… should have been impossible. Marcus whispered slowly. "...He killed it." Ronan stared in disbelief. "That was a B-Rank boss…"
Kai stood beside the giant corpse. But he wasn't looking at the hunters. He was looking at the system message glowing in front of him.
Boss Monster Defeated
Ogre Warlord Eliminated
Devour Available
Possible Reward: Major Evolution
Kai placed his hand on the warlord's massive body and whispered quietly. "...Devour." Darkness erupted from his shadow. The gigantic corpse began dissolving into black energy. The power rushing into Kai's body was far greater than anything before. The system began flashing rapidly. Something huge was about to happen.
