Chapter 81: Buying Property with Touka; You Can Never Have Too Many Homes!
....
"Auntie Nishimiya, why don't you move into my building instead?" Seito suggested after a moment's thought.
"No!" Yaeko Nishimiya refused instantly. She was a fiercely independent woman; even in a financial bind, her pride wouldn't allow her to simply accept charity or borrow money from a youngster.
However, Seito knew how to frame an offer. "Auntie, think about it this way: Shoko has a very rare character class in the game. If she joins my guild, she can easily earn 10,000 gold a month. As you know, the current exchange rate makes that 10,000 dollars. It's not a handout; it's a salary for her contribution to the guild."
Seito wasn't exaggerating. The guild was desperately short on high-level Priests, and Shoko's specialization made her the perfect addition to the Executive support team.
Yaeko hesitated. The news about "gaming for a living" was everywhere, and if Shoko could truly earn that much, it would lift the crushing weight off their shoulders. "Alright... I'll talk to Shoko. Seito, give me your address."
After exchanging contact details, Seito led the Yukinoshita sisters away, never once acknowledging the disgruntled landlady.
As they walked down the narrow lane, Seito turned to Haruno. "Haruno, you have Tohka Takanashi's number, right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Give her a call. Ask if the unit next to hers is for sale. I remember the floor above mine has a vacancy." Seito figured it was better to own the whole floor if possible. In this era, real estate was the only thing as stable as gold.
"Got it~" Haruno chirped, pulling out her phone.
Seito then looked at Yukino. "Hey, Flatty. From now on, you should start calling me 'Brother-in-law,' you know?"
"In your dreams, Pervert-kun!" Yukino snapped, her cold exterior returning as she swatted at him.
"Really? No 'Brother-in-law'?"
"Never!"
"Fine, then 'Honey' works too. I'm not picky."
"..." Yukino's face turned bright red as she glared at the shameless boy. She hadn't expected him to pivot so smoothly to such a bold remark. Seito just grinned; teasing Yukino was quickly becoming his favorite hobby.
Haruno hung up the phone. "Seito, Tohka said she'd handle the purchase directly. I'll wire her the funds now."
"Good. Tell her to keep an eye out for the Nishimiyas when they arrive." Since they were now officially engaged—and since Haruno was essentially a billionaire heiress—Seito didn't stand on ceremony about who held the checkbook.
6:00 PM.
The afternoon had been a blur of window shopping and celebration. By evening, the deal for the unit next to Tohka's was finalized for 1.05 million. Yaeko and her two daughters were already moving into the floor above Seito's apartment.
Meanwhile, Kanade and Amou had spent the day grinding levels with the Blank siblings. When Seito returned home, he placed a takeout roasted suckling pig on the table—a treat for his hardworking roommates—and headed to his room.
He lay down on the bed between Kanade and Amou, pulled on his nerve-gear, and dived back into the world of God's Domain.

Floor 18: Safe Zone.
The architecture of the 18th floor was dreamlike, resembling a town straight out of a fairy tale. Even the wilderness was dotted with giant, candy-colored trees. Fittingly, this floor was known as the "Land of Fables."
Seito manifested in the town square,
popped a piece of enchanted candy into his mouth, and checked his notifications.
[Executive Chat Channel]
[Maple: Is Seito online? Hurry! I just triggered a unique quest. I need backup! (Coordinates Attached)]
[Sei: Where's everyone else?]
[Maple: Sora and Shiro are helping Ako with a quest. Esdeath, Sally, and Kanade are power-leveling Secretary Fujiwara. It's just me and this weird quest I found.]
[Sei: Say no more. I'm on my way.]
He entered the coordinates and vanished in a blur of spatial energy.
Floor 17...
Seito opened his eyes to find Maple waving at him frantically. "Whoa, Seito-kun! You finally made it!"
"Yeah," Seito nodded. "Let me see the quest logs. What are we dealing with?"
"Here!" Maple shared her screen, her eyes wide with excitement.
