The air beyond the stone door felt different.
Cooler.
Still.
Li Wen stepped slowly into the hidden chamber, Mark's flashlight beam stretching across the darkness ahead.
The space was enormous—far larger than the excavation room outside.
Arun followed behind her, his boots echoing softly against the ancient stone floor.
"What is this place…" he whispered.
Li Wen lifted the flashlight higher.
The beam landed on something along the far wall.
She froze.
Rows of smooth black panels stretched across the chamber walls.
Not stone.
Not metal like any ancient artifact.
They looked… engineered.
Modern.
Impossible.
Arun stepped forward beside her.
For a moment he said nothing.
Then the words escaped him before he could stop them.
"What the hell… is that?"
Li Wen slowly approached one of the panels.
The surface reflected the flashlight faintly, like glass.
She reached out cautiously and brushed away a layer of dust.
Symbols flickered briefly beneath the surface.
Arun's eyes widened.
"That… just moved."
Li Wen's heartbeat quickened.
"This isn't ancient technology," she said quietly.
"It can't be."
The panel suddenly illuminated.
A faint blue glow spread across its surface.
Both of them stepped back instinctively.
Arun stared at the glowing surface.
"Is this… from the past?"
He shook his head slowly.
"Or the future?"
Before Li Wen could respond, images suddenly appeared across the panel.
Moving images.
Arun nearly dropped his notebook.
"Wait—are those recordings?"
The screen displayed a series of strange visual messages.
Symbols.
Maps.
A rotating globe.
And a line of text in an unfamiliar language.
But something beneath the symbols began translating slowly into recognizable script.
Li Wen leaned closer.
Her voice dropped to a whisper.
"It's a message."
The screen flickered again.
Then a voice echoed faintly from hidden speakers inside the chamber.
Not loud.
But clear enough.
Arun and Li Wen looked at each other in shock.
The voice spoke slowly.
"If you have discovered this chamber… then history is about to change."
Li Wen felt a chill run down her spine.
The message continued.
"The builders of empires were never what you believed."
Arun grabbed his phone immediately.
"We need to record this."
He began taking photos and video as fast as he could.
Li Wen nodded.
"Yes. Send it to Albert."
Arun opened the communication channel.
"Albert, you need to see this immediately."
---
Meanwhile, far above them on the surface—
the confrontation had turned dangerous.
The group of intruders had moved closer to the excavation shaft.
Their leader spoke harshly.
"What are you people doing here?"
Albert stood calmly in front of them.
"This excavation is authorized," he replied.
"We are working under permission from the Egyptian government and international archaeological supervision."
The man stepped closer.
"Show us your authorization."
Albert slowly raised his hand.
A small metallic device rested between his fingers.
The leader frowned.
"What is that?"
Albert pressed a single button.
Two flashes of light appeared.
Bang.
Bang.
Two of the intruders collapsed instantly.
The others froze in shock.
Albert lowered the device calmly.
"I warned you."
He pointed toward the remaining men.
"You are not official investigators."
The men stepped backward slowly.
Albert spoke again, this time firmly.
"Leave now."
---
Hassan rushed toward Albert quickly.
He spoke in Arabic, clearly nervous.
"سيد ألبرت، الوضع خطير. هؤلاء الرجال ليسوا من الحكومة. ماذا نفعل الآن؟"
Albert looked toward the desert where the intruders were retreating.
Then he turned back to Hassan.
Hassan continued speaking rapidly.
"إذا استمر هذا الأمر، قد يتدخل الجيش أو الشرطة. الموقع قد يُغلق."
Albert thought for a moment.
Then he answered calmly.
"Buy the land."
Hassan blinked in confusion.
"Buy it?"
Albert nodded.
"Contact the Egyptian authorities immediately."
Hassan still looked uncertain.
Albert added quietly.
"Your commission just increased."
Hassan frowned.
"From ten percent?"
Albert nodded.
"Thirty."
Hassan's eyes widened in shock.
"That would be nearly one hundred million dollars."
Albert looked back toward the dark desert horizon.
"Exactly."
Hassan slowly pulled out his phone.
Albert folded his arms calmly.
Because whatever Li Wen had just discovered beneath the sand—
was worth far more than money.
It might change the history of human civilization itself.
