Chapter 33 - Black Legacy

Meanwhile, Aladdin reappeared in the middle of a corridor. He had left his magical imprint all around the Palace, making it easier for him to teleport to wherever he wanted with only a few movements.

It also served as a method for him to train his endurance to sustain more magical capacity. He vanished and reappeared in an open path surrounded by a small fountain at the centre, with a house at the other end of the path.

Aladdin appeared before the door, opened it, and entered.

The moment he entered, the lanterns in the room automatically lit up.

This was Aladdin's private blacksmithing area where he crafted his magical artefacts.

It took him some time to learn how to utilise the tools, and also enabled him to enhance his craftsmanship during transmutation. Nonetheless, he still hadn't learned everything there was to know about blacksmithing, only the things he needed to implement at the moment.

At the edge of the room was a furnace, and scattered across the walls were the tools and equipment he used for crafting. At the centre was a wide metallic table of different sizes, and beside it was a pool of water in a metallic bucket.

Aladdin approached the bucket and saw a long, thick, curved blade with a golden handle and a black gem embedded at the top. The blade was covered in intricate inscriptions, glowing with myriads of orange, blue, green, and brown light flowing through them.

The water was an alchemical solution meant to hasten the process of crafting the blade as well as enhance it. Otherwise, it would have taken him several months to complete.

The sword was meant to serve as his personal weapon. He had taken several valuable materials from his treasury to forge it so it wouldn't be limited by his magical capacity. This way, he could easily recast it as he grew stronger or add additional elements without fear of the material falling apart.

Since he didn't have any weapon yet, although he did not plan for situations where he would fight in close combat, there was no need to handicap himself when he could prepare in case such a situation arose.

Aladdin immersed his magical energy into the bucket to sense the state of the weapon. Realising that the process was complete, he removed the placement holding the sword in place and drew it out from the water.

Instantly, the glowing colours flowing through the blade slowly dissipated.

Aladdin gripped the blade tightly and swung it through the air.

Swishh!! Swishh!!

He could feel the sharpness of the blade as it cut through the air without even touching a target.

Aladdin channelled his magical energy into the blade. Instantly, it shone with a bright orange-red glow that erupted into a fiery flame of the same colour. Then it swiftly shifted to blue as frost covered the blade, emanating a freezing chill.

Before long, it melted into water, and crackling electricity surged through the blade.

The transformations occurred within a minute before the blade returned to normal.

Not only could this blade enhance some of his spells, but it could also store and utilise magical energy to increase its sharpness or activate a few elemental spells itself without any input from the wielder.

The last ability Aladdin had imbued into it was the teleportation imprint, derived from the Dune Valley Teleportation spell, which allowed the blade to strike the same position it had previously struck within a certain distance.

This meant that as long as he had successfully launched an attack against his enemy, he could continuously attack the same area without closing in, satisfying his need for both close- and long-distance attacks.

The only drawback was that, due to the magical and spatial fluctuations and the obvious style of attack, a capable sorcerer could easily detect this imprint on their body and remove it.

After testing his weapon, Aladdin was deeply satisfied because this was his first actual magical weapon. The only thing left was to see how the blade fared in actual combat.

"I need to give you a good name," Aladdin said to himself. "How about 'Black Legacy'?"

The black gem on top of the handle shone with a bright white light before instantly fading.

If any master magic craftsman were present, they would be astounded by such a sight, because this could only mean that the magical weapon had attained wisdom.

Magical artefacts with wisdom were considered invaluable because not only did they recognise who their master was, but it was also impossible for another person or an enemy to utilise them without permission.

Forging such magical artefacts required priceless items that were difficult for many to come across. Perhaps only a few who possessed immense treasures like Aladdin and were experts at their craft could create a magical artefact with wisdom.

Thus, the known individuals capable of crafting such an item could only be counted on one hand and were difficult to encounter. However, for Aladdin, it simply reaffirmed that his craft was more successful than he had anticipated.

"It seems you like it. From now henceforth, your name shall be 'Black Legacy," Aladdin said, picking up a sheath with intricate incriptions and drawings of lightning flashes across it.

The sheath was created to seal the magical signature of the sword, preventing it from being sensed by the outside world. He sheathed the blade and strapped it to the side of his waist.

Although he had created a method to hang the sheathed weapon at the side of his waist as though it were glued to it, that would ruin the element of surprise by exposing to an enemy that not only was he a sorcerer, but he was also carrying a potentially powerful magical weapon.

After getting rid of the alchemical solution and setting the workshop in order, Aladdin locked the door with his keys and vanished into thin air.

"No, this can't be right! This can't be right!!" Nasira said to herself, grabbing and pulling her hair as she stood outside a glowing magic circle.
