Damien's POV
"Smart…stupid." I whispered to myself.
"Stupidly smart!" If that was a thing.
I had just offered her protection, I knew she could get if from me without stress, now she was going to meet my family, what was wrong with me? I know dad already had Elena Floretti for me.
"What would I wear?" Sophie's voice cut through my thoughts.
"Huh?" I turned around to face her.
Few minutes ago, I was the coldest man on earth now, her calm voice just did something I couldn't name to me.
"What would I wear?" She repeated.
"I heard you the first time." I said, adjusting my tie.
I looked at her and she looked away, she looked like she was in deep thought, probably wondering who let the cat out of the bag. Whoever it was they had no chills.
"Sir!" Marco said entering the room.
"Damien, thank you." she said and then looked away again.
I walked out with Marco, he was saying something, I could only see his mouth move but I could barely hear his voice.
"Sir!" Marco said shaking me out of my trance.
"These are the records I was able to hack into." He said showing me the iPad.
"Aaron Black." I whispered.
"He's an FBI, from what I see he must have had quite the relationship with Miss Callahan." Marco said swiftly.
I looked at him, she was mine now. No longer a Callahan, now a Santiago.
He cleared his throat and looked at me. "Mrs Santiago."
"Better."
I went to my room, reading a novel I was yet to complete but I couldn't focus. Before now, I was THE Damien Santiago, I always knew what to do but here I was wondering if it was a good idea to go public with her.
Yes! It was. An idea just popped into my head.
"Give the media what they want." I thought to myself.
I got into the shower and took my bath again and then wore my grey sweatpants and sweatshirt. I walked down to her room and forgetting to knock, I opened the door.
"Ah." I gasp escaped my lips when I saw her, she was naked.
I closed the door before she could turn around completely.
This woman was drop dead gorgeous. She was out of this world. Her skin should be on mine. I blinked twice and adjusted my posture.
I knocked twice.
"Come in." She said.
I opened the door slowly and walked inside. She was wearing a silk gown, revealing her cleavage a bit.
"Get dressed, casually." I said, my voice sounded hoarse.
"What for?" she asked.
"Get dressed and meet me downstairs."
I went downstairs and asked the chef to do something quickly, then I turned on the TV. Her face was the first thing that showed.
"Murderess heiress; Sophie Callahan." The reporter said.
"Murderess." I chuckled to myself.
"Hi."
It was Sophie. She wore another gown, this time no revealing cleavage.
"Hey." I said clearing my throat.
"I got your message sir." It was Marco.
"Oh, okay." I said sounding uncomfortable.
"It's ready sir." The chef said, bowed and walked away.
"Status right here." I said to Sophie.
I brought the sushi my chef had whipped up and came to the sofa, I held it trying to feed Sophie and she looked surprised and then a little smile crept up her face.
"3,2,1" Marco said and flashlights. He took a picture of what was happening.
"Take this away from me." I said giving Marco the sushi and waking back to my room.
"Use the anonymous, post it everywhere." I whispered to Marco before leaving.
The gram would have to know I was in power. I, Damien Santiago was in control.
Morning came fast and today was the day, we went to my parents house.
My father was a busy man, day and night. Even now, I had to beg him to discuss this matter with him.
"Did Marco give you the dress?" I asked her when I caught her staring on the stairs.
"Yeah…he uh, he did, uhm thank you." She stuttered.
"Right, we leave in 10 minutes." I said, standing up from where I was.
"That's about…" I said looking at my watch to decipher the time when I heard her voice.
"Let's go." She said. I looked at her, I didn't know she was all dressed up, and I had to say she looked beautiful.
"If you keep staring, I might just stay at home." She said.
"Sorry…I meant you look beautiful." I said.
We got into the car and I found myself blushing when her hands brushed mine. What was wrong with me today?
It had to be the Sophie Callahan effect, it was the same when I met her that night. She wmdeew me in, like she was doing now. But this was business and I had to be strict.
The car came to a halt. We had arrived.
"Be yourself." I whispered to her and came down from the car.
"Mhm." I could hear her as she nodded her head and came out through the other side.
"My son." I heard dad's voice from the stairs as I walked into the house, he held a wine glass in his hands. This man liked everything life had to offer.
"Dad." I said smiling and increasing my pace as I saw him.
He came up to where I was and shook my hand. In your family, your father was your favorite person, here he was my business partner.
"Cut to the chase." He said as we sat down.
"I'm getting married to Sophie Callahan." I said, with no expression, waiting for his reply.
"You're not." He said, like Sophie wasn't sitting across him.
"I already have my damsel for you." He added.
"Damsel." He called out.
Elena Floretti walked out with a smirk on her face and her eyes landed on Sophie and her fake smile dropped.
Sophie held eye contact with her, I could already see and feel the silent war these two women were having in front of me.
This was not going to be easy.
