Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: New Farm Employee, Ellin

Arkz clapped his hands, and a group of wooden figures walked in, clearing away the dishes from the table and serving a pot of tea.

This was the hawthorn green tea that Arkz had made to aid digestion and cut through the richness of the meal.

Hawthorn green tea has a refreshing taste, being both sour and sweet. It possesses the tartness of hawthorn along with the fresh fragrance of green tea.

It not only refreshes the mind but also has antioxidant and anti-aging effects, and it can also eliminate body fat and reduce fat absorption.

It is truly perfect to have a cup after a meal—it beautifies the complexion, tastes great, and you don't have to worry about gaining weight.

Just now, all their attention had been captured by the taste of the grand feast Arkz had prepared. Now, as they savored it carefully, they were pleasantly surprised to find their stomachs feeling warm, with waves of warmth flowing from their stomachs throughout their bodies, making them feel cozy and very comfortable.

Herman noticed the warm current in his stomach continuously surging toward his arm. His arm, which usually became unbearably painful on overcast or rainy days, now felt pleasantly warm and extremely comfortable.

Slumped in his chair, quietly feeling this warm current enveloping his entire body, even his nerves felt soothed. It was just like feeling drowsy after a full lunch; now, the four people at the dining table were gradually succumbing to sleepiness.

However, it wasn't time to sleep. Arkz struggled to sit up, relying on his extraordinary willpower. A sip of the hawthorn green tea passed his throat, and he instantly became invigorated.

He looked at the three people slouched lazily in their chairs, completely disregarding their appearance.

Arkz could only personally pour a cup of water and place it in front of the three of them.

Smelling the fragrance of the green tea, Ellin's mother felt somewhat refreshed and kicked Herman's leg.

The marital understanding built over many years instantly conveyed his wife's meaning to Herman: "Quickly try this tea to see if it helps your injury. If it works, drink more."

Herman suppressed his drowsiness, picked up the teacup in his hand, and downed it in one gulp, instantly becoming invigorated.

As expected, when the tea entered his throat, a warm current surged into Herman's injured arm. Combined with the nourishment from the earlier grand meal, Herman's arm was nearly completely healed.

Just as he was about to share this news with his wife and daughter, he found that both of them were already lying on their chairs, fast asleep.

Herman looked apologetically at Arkz, "Sorry, Brother Lu Ming, I got a bit sleepy after eating."

Arkz waved his hand, indicating it was nothing to worry about.

Arkz explained, "The meal I made has a special effect, which Brother Herman must have felt. Although it has a healing effect, the side effect is that you get quite sleepy after eating."

"However, it will be fine after a nap. This is the body's instinctive reaction after replenishing a large amount of energy."

"That's why I made this tea to help you wake up."

Arkz said, "I can't hold it anymore, I'm getting sleepy too. I'll take my leave now."

Saying that, Arkz waved his hand, and a large group of wooden figures surged in, setting up three beds in the wooden house in a short time.

Arkz said, "Brother Herman, if you're tired, sleep for a while on the bed. We can talk about anything else after you wake up."

With that, Arkz turned and left.

This was also the first time he had eaten so many dishes he had cooked himself; he felt as if he had taken sleeping pills—he was incredibly drowsy.

After Arkz left, Herman pondered for a moment, then carried his wife and daughter to the beds so they could enjoy their midday nap more comfortably.

Feeling the full strength returning to his arm, and the continuous waves of warmth moving from his stomach to his arm, Herman no longer resisted the sleepiness and chose to enjoy the leisure of an afternoon nap on the wooden bed the wooden figures had just set up.

The afternoon sun shone lazily by the window. In the quiet time, everyone peacefully enjoyed the pleasure of their afternoon nap.

Finding a moment to breathe amidst their busy lives, they enjoyed a beautiful dream under the warm sunshine, closing their eyes and letting their thoughts drift toward the distant sky.

...

After the lazy and leisurely nap, the refreshed group gathered again inside the wooden house.

Herman shared the joy of his arm injury being completely healed with his family. Now, the faces of Ellin's family were filled with smiles and gratitude.

Arkz looked at the smiles on the faces of Ellin's family and knew he had secured their agreement.

As expected, when Arkz proposed helping Ellin train so she could pass the Knights of Favonius recruitment assessment, Ellin's parents readily agreed. Even Herman, who had been full of wariness toward Arkz before, now trusted him completely.

Herman even actively persuaded him, "Brother Lu Ming, don't put too much pressure on yourself. Even if Ellin doesn't pass the Knights of Favonius assessment this year, there's still next year and the year after!"

"Ellin is only 16 this year; she has plenty of time."

"Furthermore, Brother Lu Ming, you are so outstanding and powerful. If Ellin still fails the Knights of Favonius assessment under your training, then it must be because she wasn't diligent enough in her training."

"If Ellin doesn't listen to your instructions during training, just tell Brother Herman, and I will discipline her for you!"

Ellin, sitting to the side, rolled her eyes speechlessly. How was it that after one nap, her father and mother seemed fonder of Arkz than of their own daughter?

However, upon learning that her father Herman's injury had healed, the pressure on Ellin did indeed lessen significantly. Her father's injury was recovered, and the family no longer needed to worry about Mora.

This time, even if she couldn't pass the Knights of Favonius assessment, Ellin had the courage to continue participating in the next assessment.

Thinking of this, the look Ellin gave Arkz was also filled with gratitude.

With everything settled, the sky was getting late, and Herman's family took their leave to depart.

The road between Springvale and Mondstadt City was long, passing through the wilderness of Mondstadt where monsters often appeared. Traveling at night was genuinely dangerous, so Arkz no longer tried to dissuade them.

In the bustling Mondstadt City, there would always be dedicated carriages waiting to transport passengers.

However, in a desolate little place like Springvale, such service was naturally unavailable. Staying in Springvale, one might not even wait for a single customer all day.

Herman had originally planned to walk back. Ellin's mother now felt her body filled with strength and was confident she could walk back even in high heels. Ellin planned to carry her back if her mother got too tired to walk.

But could Arkz let them just walk back like that? Of course not!

After a moment of thought, Arkz asked Ellin and her parents to wait a moment.

Subsequently, Arkz summoned a large group of wooden figures, and took out many pieces of wood from the farm's warehouse, assembling them into the shape of a carriage. He used Dendro Elemental Power to connect these pieces of wood, finally adding some finishing touches, and a beautiful carriage appeared before the few of them.

Next came the horse to pull the carriage.

If there was no horse, he would summon one using Dendro Elemental Power; this was not difficult for Arkz.

The summoning process was the same as for the wooden figures, except when shaping it, he molded the wooden figure into the shape of a horse, enlarged its size a bit, and filled it with a bit more Elemental Power to make its propulsion stronger.

Unlike the wooden figures whose sensory abilities were enhanced, when Arkz shaped this wooden horse, he enhanced its strength and speed to ensure it could pull the carriage both quickly and steadily.

In less than ten minutes, a carriage appeared before them. Ellin's family clicked their tongues in amazement, saying they had their eyes opened.
