Chapter 14 - EP 14: FIREWORKS

🌹 THE ROSEGLID INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Episode 14 — "Fireworks"

At

Roseglid International High School

the festival didn't arrive quietly.

It took over everything.

Lights covered the buildings, stalls lined every pathway, music echoed through the campus, and the rose gardens glowed under golden decorations.

Even Section F looked… organized.

Which was suspicious.

Ash walked in wearing black and baby pink, effortlessly standing out without trying.

Her hair moved slightly with the evening breeze, confidence wrapped around her like armor.

Blake stared.

"…yeah no, we lost."

Kai nodded. "Pack it up. She wins the festival."

Jett clutched his chest. "I suddenly believe in love."

Ash rolled her eyes.

"Get help."

Noah adjusted his glasses.

"Statistically, you've increased attention by eighty percent."

Ash smirked.

"Only eighty?"

Then—

everything shifted.

Because

Damien Alexander Sinclair

walked in.

Black outfit.

Clean.

Sharp.

Effortless.

And his eyes?

Locked on her.

Blake whispered, "Oh he's gone."

Kai nodded. "Burj Khalifa level gone."

Ash crossed her arms.

"…why are you looking at me like that?"

Damien stepped closer.

Slow.

Confident.

"Like what?" he asked.

She tilted her head.

"Like you forgot how to blink."

He smirked slightly.

"Maybe I did."

Silence.

Then chaos behind them.

"OH MY GOD—" Blake whispered loudly.

"SHUT UP," Kai hissed.

Ash narrowed her eyes.

"…you're acting weird."

He leaned slightly closer.

Lowering his voice.

"You look good."

That wasn't teasing.

That wasn't a roast.

That was real.

Ash blinked.

Just once.

"…don't start," she said quietly.

"Too late."

And that—

hit differently.

The festival continued around them.

Games.

Laughter.

Music.

But for them—

everything felt focused.

Closer.

Section F dragged Ash to different stalls.

Jett forced her to play a game.

Blake lost twice.

Kai cheated.

Noah analyzed everything.

And Damien?

Stayed close.

Too close.

Every time she turned—

he was there.

"You following me?" she asked at one point.

"Observing," he replied.

She scoffed.

"Creepy."

"Effective."

She rolled her eyes.

But didn't walk away.

Later—

they ended up near the rose garden.

Lights glowing softly around them.

Ash stopped.

Looked around.

"…okay, this is actually nice."

Damien watched her.

Not the lights.

Not the crowd.

Her.

"You're allowed to admit things are nice," he said.

She glanced at him.

"Don't get used to it."

He stepped closer.

Again.

"You keep saying that."

"And you keep ignoring it."

"Maybe I like ignoring you."

She smirked.

"Good. That makes two of us."

But neither of them moved away.

The noise from the festival slowly faded as they walked further.

Toward the quieter side.

Toward the bridge.

The same place.

But different tonight.

Lights reflected on the water.

The sky dark.

Waiting.

Ash leaned on the railing.

"You planned this?" she asked.

"No."

"Liar."

He smiled faintly.

"Maybe a little."

She shook her head.

"…you're impossible."

"And you're still here."

Silence.

But not empty.

Then—

the first firework exploded in the sky.

Bright.

Loud.

Beautiful.

Ash looked up.

Eyes reflecting the colors.

"…okay, that's actually amazing."

Damien looked at her.

Not the fireworks.

Her.

And something in him—

finally gave in.

"Stop doing that," she said suddenly.

"Doing what?"

"Looking at me like that."

He stepped closer.

"Like what?"

She turned to face him.

"Like I matter."

That hit.

Because she did.

More than she should.

More than he planned.

More than he expected.

"I can't help it," he said quietly.

Truth.

She stilled.

Heart racing.

The fireworks continued above them.

Loud.

Bright.

Chaotic.

But between them—

everything slowed.

"You're dangerous," she said softly.

"So are you."

"Not like you."

"Then how?"

She hesitated.

"…you make things feel real."

That was it.

That was the moment.

He stepped closer.

No hesitation this time.

No stopping.

His hand lifted.

Resting lightly against her cheek.

She didn't move.

Didn't stop him.

Didn't speak.

Just—

stayed.

Eyes locked.

Breath uneven.

And then—

he closed the distance.

Their lips met.

Soft.

Slow.

Not rushed.

Not forced.

Real.

Fireworks exploded above them.

Lighting up everything.

But they didn't notice.

Because for that moment—

nothing else existed.

Just them.

Just this.

Then—

a loud sneeze.

They broke apart instantly.

Ash blinked.

"…what was that?"

Behind the bushes—

Blake froze.

Kai covered his mouth.

Jett looked betrayed.

Noah—

sniffed.

"…allergies," he said calmly.

Silence.

Then—

Ash narrowed her eyes.

"…you were watching?"

Blake stepped out slowly.

"WE WERE SUPPORTING—"

"SHUT UP," Kai hissed.

Jett pointed at Noah.

"HE RUINED THE MOMENT—"

Noah adjusted his glasses.

"Unintentional interference."

Ash looked at all of them.

Then at Damien.

"…your friends are weird."

He smirked slightly.

"You fit right in."

She rolled her eyes.

But smiled.

Just a little.

The fireworks continued.

The moment—

broken.

But not gone.

Because now—

everything had changed.

And there was no going back.

Far away—

in the shadows—

the hooded figure watched.

Phone raised.

Recording.

A message sent.

"She fell."

Another.

"Now break her."
