Chapter 8 - Hell Dungeon Solo

Eight hours passed in the blink of an eye, and by this time, Lucien had already reached level seven.

The leveling speed was undeniably fast, but the experience required after level five had increased significantly.

This was only possible for Lucien, who had obtained dark gold equipment on just the second day; ordinary players would need at least four or five days to reach level seven.

This is also why, even though the game had been open for five years, the highest level currently was only in the forties.

And even five years later, the maximum level was only sixty.

From this, one could see how difficult it was to level up in Battle Online.

By now, the equipment on his body had also greatly improved.

From head to toe, he was wearing a full set of black iron-grade equipment.

He even had an extra weapon and a top in his backpack.

The weapon was extra because the Thousand-Year Peach Wood Sword in Lucien's hand had better stats.

As for the top, it was an extra drop he got while fighting monsters.

Ordinary people couldn't get a single drop in three days, yet Lucien had managed to get all the equipment he usually needed in just one day.

Most players, when leaving the Novice Village, couldn't even dream of a full set of equipment; it was already quite good if they could wear four or five pieces.

A person could equip one weapon, one top, one pair of pants, two bracelets or bracers, two rings, and one pair of shoes.

Special equipment: masks, cloaks, and necklaces.

The drop rates for masks and cloaks were ridiculously low.

Most people's cloaks and masks were crafted, as very few monsters dropped them.

As for Lucien, he was already fully geared, except for the special equipment.

His stats had also greatly improved by this point.

He had even collected 1 gold coin and 60 silver coins.

Now, Lucien was confident enough to clear the hell-difficulty Goblin Forest.

However, his game time was up.

With no choice, Lucien had to log off first.

After logging off and eating something casually, Lucien went straight to rest.

Upon waking up, he saw that it wasn't time yet, so he browsed the game forums online.

Because of the appearance of Battle Online, the fates of the vast majority of people in reality had undergone earth-shattering changes.

Even schools had now started teaching the game directly.

"Geyi City was attacked by a monster siege yesterday, and Geyi City has now been destroyed!"

"It was just a level 20 monster siege, how could Geyi City fail to stop it?"

"That's too fake, they couldn't even stop level 20 monsters."

"I heard that the high-end players of Geyi City were called away to perform a secret mission a few hours before the monster siege, which is why Geyi City couldn't stop it!"

Lucien sighed, his heart filled with mixed feelings.

Even now, those major factions were still trying to find ways to preserve their strength.

Soon it was midnight, and without delay, Lucien entered the game.

He rushed directly to the Goblin area, where many players were currently leveling up.

In one spot to the north, there was a very special light barrier.

This was the Goblin Forest.

As long as you touched the light barrier, you could enter the dungeon.

The entrance to the dungeon was bustling with activity.

"Need a mage or Daoist, primarily adding Spirit."

"Four waiting for one, need a warrior who primarily adds Physique, someone who can tank damage!"

"Solo carry for normal difficulty, guaranteed clear, 5 silver coins per person, only one spot left."

"Ye Aojiao is a scammer, everyone don't believe him."

He arrived next to the light barrier and reached out to touch it.

"Ding, you currently have no record, you can only enter simple difficulty. Do you want to enter the level 5-10 Goblin Forest?"

"Yes!"

It was just a simple difficulty dungeon, which held no difficulty for Lucien at all.

It only took ten minutes for him to clear the simple difficulty Goblin Forest.

Level 5

HP: 1500

Even a simple difficulty dungeon was slightly stronger than the wild monsters outside.

The difference between these Goblin Warriors and the Goblins outside was just their HP.

As for other attributes, they were exactly the same as the Goblins.

However, the Goblin Warriors couldn't break Lucien's defense at all now.

Now fully geared, Lucien's defense was as high as 160; it wasn't something a level 5 Goblin Warrior could penetrate.

It took ten minutes to finally clear the simple difficulty Goblin Forest.

Clearing it once directly increased Lucien's experience by five percent.

Although the dungeon only had level 5 monsters, there were no level penalties for monsters inside the dungeon.

No matter what level a player was, as long as you entered the dungeon, you could obtain normal experience.

The dungeon was also one of the main ways for players to level up now.

For each dungeon, each difficulty could only be challenged once a day.

Another hour passed, and he could finally challenge the hell-difficulty Goblin Forest.

By this time, Lucien had already gained more than half of his experience.

Once this hell-difficulty run was finished, he should be able to level up.

With a flash of white light, Lucien arrived at the hell-difficulty Goblin Forest.

Just looking at the appearance, the scene here didn't change much from the normal difficulty.

But the aura on the monsters was worlds apart.

Goblin Warrior (Hell)

Level 5

HP 8000

MP 1000

Attack Power: 300

Magic/Physical Defense: 150

Skill: Throw Rock.

Throw Rock: Throws a stone, dealing 50+300 damage, with a 5-second cooldown, costing 30 MP.

Whether it was HP, attack power, or defense, there had been a huge increase.

It was even comparable to Lucien's own stats panel.

His current magic attack was only 288, and his defense was 160.

His HP was only 1500; it wouldn't be easy to kill the Goblin Warrior in front of him.

That 8000 HP was a headache just to look at.

This was hell difficulty, making one wonder if the system didn't want anyone to clear it at all!

With these stats for a Goblin, even an ordinary level 10 player would have to run away!

However, Lucien still had the ability to solo the Goblin Warrior.

But he had to be careful; he absolutely could not attract the attention of the Goblins nearby.

"Biu"

-200

A Soul Fire Talisman struck out, dealing 200 damage to the Goblin Warrior.

-200

-205

-198

A series of damage numbers popped up from the Goblin Warrior.

Lucien was casting Soul Fire Talisman while retreating.

Under the attack of one Soul Fire Talisman per second, the Goblin Warrior quickly reached half health.

From beginning to end, the Goblin Warrior didn't touch Lucien once.

Suddenly, the Goblin Warrior stopped in its tracks and stopped chasing.

At the same time, it raised its right hand, and a huge rock was thrown at Lucien.

Seeing that huge rock, Lucien didn't want to get hit by it.

The body in the game was the body from reality itself.

Once attacked, there would naturally be a sense of pain.

That would likely affect his performance.

With a dodge, Lucien narrowly avoided the rock.

He launched an attack on the Goblin Warrior again.

Just like that, for two full minutes, the Goblin Warrior failed to touch Lucien even once before it fell to the ground.

"Ding, you killed a Goblin Warrior (Hell), experience + 500."

The experience points for the hell-difficulty dungeon were quite generous.

An inconspicuous pillar of light appeared where the Goblin Warrior had fallen.

Lucien hurried forward.

"Ding, you obtained a Goblin Underworld Bone Necklace (Silver)."

"Ding, you obtained 50 copper coins."

Damn, it was actually a necklace.

This was a great start!

Didn't expect the first monster to drop a necklace, and a silver-grade one at that.
