A strange castle appeared out of nowhere in the forest near the kingdom, you were tasked to investigate its origin and how it appeared there.
Accepting the contract by the king you explored the forest before reaching the unknown castle. With two knights who know a thing or two of magic, follow you from behind guarding you, when you stand before the gates, you knocked, a butler opens and gestures them to come inside.
The inside was eerie and quiet. Faint whispers can be heard from passing winds, looking around you spotted statues like gods, revered and respected the butler bowed to it and explained it to you and your guardians.
From the Butler's guidance you entered the castle from the garden and bowed before the four thrones and sitting before it were a pair of husband and wife, son and daughter laughting.
In permission of the owners of the caslte you have been given a room to stay along with your guardians, and from then on you start to become weirded out by the place, the castle trembles as if it was alive, at night you can hear monsters crawling.
The most scarier of them all are the owner of this place, he once caught sight of one of the statues resembling one of the four in a room and many humanoid resembling humans were praying and at the center was the same face as the statue offering sacrifice to the God.
More strange things keep happening after you secretly spied on the ritual, it was likely he had been caught, but he was fine and treated like a new family to the four along with his guards like brothers and sisters, their food was delicious which they cannot afford back in the kingdom.
One night he was strolling he spotted the daughter drinking red wine, he thought it was blood as he never seen wine with the color of blood, he hesitated and did not force himself to come out and ask her afraid that he will be the next offering to their gods.
Time and time, his perspective of the world changes, to him the moon is always red and trees do not have leaves, statues crying blood become common sense, slowly forgetting his purpose of coming here and a new statue was erected after wards and the four declared it as a new God and he decided to worship "him".
