The old man got out of his vehicle and took out a rug from the backseat.
Instead of unlocking the door with a key, he stretched his body, extending his legs over the door, and slipped inside.
"Well… these aliens are definitely weird," Big Chill muttered.
"Why do this in the middle of the day? Aren't they afraid someone might notice? Confidence or ignorance?"
He paused.
"Hmm… more like confidence. They must have already kidnapped most of the people living here…"
Big Chill observed quietly.
After entering, he knew those people were there . And the aliens would not hurt them for now .
So he decided to head back.
"You sure took your time in there, Ben," Aunt Vera said.
"Sorry, Aunt Vera… I must've eaten something wrong on the road."
"Never mind. It's time for me to sleep. Bye," she said and went to sleep.
"Ben, where did you go? Don't think you can fool me with that bathroom trick..."
"Listen, I went out to investigate. This whole town is weird. I think slimy aliens who can shapeshift are kidnapping people and replacing them. I saw an old lady jump onto the roof and eat a fly. I also saw the old neighbor walk over the door by stretching his legs," Ben explained and told Gwen about his investigation.
"Hmm, maybe we do need to investigate," Grandpa said after thinking for a while, then went first.
"You know, ever since this summer vacation, we are like a walking trouble magnet," Gwen said.
"Well, what can we do? We are just popular among weird people."
"Haha, very funny."
"By the way, Aunt Vera seemed alright the whole time. So do you think she is alright?"
"Yeah, she is alright for now, but she might get kidnapped soon, just like her neighbor. For now, don't act rashly and wait."

"Hello, anyone home?" Max asked and entered the house.
They entered quietly.
Ding dong, ding dong.
The clock was ticking.
Everything was quiet.
"There seems to be nothing out of the ordinary."
"Well, except what he took with his rug that was right here," Ben said.

"Hmm, let's investigate tomorrow. There's not much we can do today. I have to go for an early morning walk. We will continue after that," Max said.

In the other room, where Aunt Vera was sleeping, a slime slowly crept up along her arm.
Suddenly—
It expanded. Vera opened her eyes but couldn't call for help as the slime closed her mouth and surrounded her whole body.

Ben and Gwen were talking while Gwen was filling a glass with water so she could drink.
Ben took out a bottle of pickles and ate one.
Suddenly thinking of something, he flinched and looked around—if Big Chill's instincts were flaring up again this early?
Necrofriggian (Big Chill's species) are generally treated as genderless/asexual beings in Ben 10.
They don't have traditional male/female genders. They reproduce asexually.
About once every 80 years, they go through a reproduction cycle.
During that time, they lay eggs (seen in Alien Force).
Thinking of the cute blue Big Chills, he chuckled.

"Good morning, Aunt Vera. How did you sleep?" Gwen asked, noticing Aunt Vera.
"Just... fine... How about you?"
Aunt Vera went up to them. Her eyes looked strange, as if dazed.
She pinched Ben's cheeks.
"Uh, hi, Aunt Vera," Ben said while she was pinching his cheeks.
"I made some coffee for you, Aunt Vera."
Gwen was about to hand it over but intentionally dropped it.
"I'm sorry, Aunt Vera..."
As expected, Aunt Vera was frightened and shouted while her legs moved unnaturally to either side.
This stunt would be cool if she were not a grandma who shouldn't be able to do it like a ninja.
"Clean it up! Clean it up...!!!"
"I am sorry." Then she cleaned up the mess.
Vera came down, looked at Max's room, and asked, "Where did your grandfather go?"
"He said he was going for an early walk," Gwen replied.
"Well, behave yourselves. I will be back soon." Then she went away.
Ben and Gwen were talking about Aunt Vera.
"You were correct. So she also became like them, huh?"
"Yep, but she should not be in immediate danger. These aliens are preparing to get away after collecting food. So those people who were kidnapped must be hidden somewhere. We need to alert Grandpa Max and search for Aunt Vera."
"Alright, that's the plan then!"
Somewhere else, the old neighbor and a guy with a red cap stood beside him.
"Is the food supply ready for transport?"
Aunt Vera (the alien) asked.
"The pods are in the final stages of gestation," he replied.
"What about the young ones?"
"Too chewy. They need to age more before they get nice and tender," Aunt Vera said with a dark face.
"I am not talking about eating. The boy and the girl suspects too much."
'Aunt Vera' just smiled, though the smile looked terrifying, not the one filled with warmth like Aunt Vera.
"So where are we heading, boss?"
"We need to get to that trapdoor by the dumpster. I followed that guy there. I didn't follow him inside and returned early so you guys wouldn't worry, but there must be something," Ben replied.
"I see. If only we found Grandpa early. He went for a walk but still hasn't returned. I guess he was also captured," Gwen said, worried about Max.
"Yeah, we need to move fast..."
They were heading toward that place when Grandpa Max called, "Hey kids, come here, I will protect you."
"Grandpa!"
Gwen was about to go there, but Ben stopped her.
"That's not Grandpa Max, Gwen."
"You really know too much," Max said, then his body stretched and was about to catch them.
"Hey Gwen, let's use our powers freely and go to the trapdoor and unlock it. These are slime alien freaks—no need to care about them."
"Alright," Gwen said, and threw mana energy spheres toward Grandpa.
It exploded and threw him out of the way.
"Let's go..."
"Stop!"
They saw Aunt Vera, the neighbor, and another guy trying to throw a car at them.
Ben used an energy sphere and destroyed it.
Gwen already reached the door and smashed it open with an energy sphere.
"Ben, let's go!" she shouted.
Ben threw more energy spheres toward them and ran toward the door.
"Alright, create an energy rope and jump quickly..."
They both created energy ropes and jumped inside, where they found many tunnels.
They saw those aliens coming down toward them.
"Now what? We don't know which way to go."
"Use mana sight and search for Grandpa..." Ben said while throwing energy spheres toward the aliens who got close.
"Alright."
Gwen's eyes glowed blue.
"Found him. This way!"
They ran and found many green pods filled with people. They freed Grandpa Max.
"Uh, what happened? I don't remember anything," he said, clutching his head in confusion.
Gwen stepped back and touched
something, and it opened, showing more pods inside a spaceship, where Aunt Vera was too.
"They found the ship. Don't let them get out."
The aliens finally merged into one.
"They are marinating long enough! Let's start the ship!"
"Marinating?" Grandpa asked, looking back.
"Hmph, not so fast, trash," Ben said, using the Omnitrix. He transformed into Big Chill again.
"Big Chill."
After transforming, he spread his wings and took off flying, creating distance before letting out strong icy breaths, which froze the whole alien in seconds.
"Nooooo..." The alien cried with a hoarse sound and froze.

He did it in seconds—the alien didn't even have time to split into parts to escape.
The spaceship was still getting ready to take off. However…
"Let's transform into Grey Matter…"
Big Chill said, then reverted back to Ben. He searched for Grey Matter and transformed.
He became smaller and smaller; his face and eyes changed…
"Grey Matter."
He ran toward the spaceship's control room, hacked the system, and stopped it. In front of a Galvan, these spaceships were just child's play.
He came out while Max and Gwen took every pod out.
"Huh… it will take hours to get them back to their homes…"
"Or minutes if I turn into XLR8," the small Grey Matter said.
While speaking, he made some gestures—and the whole spaceship vanished into the inventory.
"Wow… how did you do that, Ben?" Grandpa Max asked, confused. He didn't know about the inventory or the system.
Thinking of the Galvans, Azmuth couldn't even do something like this, right?
Ben said, "Don't worry, Grandpa. It's just a new power of mine, similar to Gwen's."
"Oh?"
A male Anodite?
Will he be taken away by Verdona if she hears about such a special case?
Well… it seems the decision lies with Ben. Whatever Ben and Gwen want to do, let them decide.
Thinking this, Grandpa didn't say anything more and watched Ben transform into XLR8, taking every pod outside and coming back for more.
The frozen alien had already melted into water and vanished.
After taking and placing every pod back at their homes, XLR8 broke the pods and freed the people. When they woke up, they were confused—but everything slowly returned to normal.

Next morning—
"Don't be strangers," Vera said.
"We won't," Max said, hugging her.
"Bye, Aunt Vera," Gwen said, hugging her too.
"Bye, sweetie. Oh, this is for the road. Ben said you really liked it, so I made this specially for you with extra care…"
She handed her a strange-looking green jelly.
Gwen smiled and accepted it while glaring at Ben, who was snickering behind her.
Vera said, "I'm sorry, Ben, if you didn't enjoy much here. I hope you weren't bored to tears…"
"No, meeting you was fun, Aunt Vera. As for excitement, there was enough," Ben said, hugging her.
"Aww, thanks… I'm glad. Well, have fun on the road!"
"I will."
He entered the Rustbucket, where Gwen was standing, waving goodbye to Aunt Vera.
"Oh, and Gwen, Ben—keep up the good work dealing with those aliens you were telling me about."
"You're kidding, right?" Gwen asked.
Vera just laughed, crossing her arms.
"Of course, dear."
Ben simply smiled.
Then they said goodbye, and Max started driving.
Vera watched them leave and smiled to herself.
