"Although I don't know what exactly is going on, let's join the fight first."
Yuumi flipped open the Book of Thresholds and unleashed Final Chapter. The runes that bound Tahm only held for an instant before shattering.
But Caleb only needed that brief instant. With Phase Rush active on his body, he had already vaulted high over Tahm's fat body.
"Go!"
Serylda's Grudge shot out from Caleb's body and slammed hard into that thick hide.
After arriving in the celestial realm, Caleb felt like Serylda's Grudge had become a little faster.
Was it because Serylda had been here before?
Caleb had only sensed a trace of will left behind by Serylda. As for the details, he had not felt them that clearly.
Did the celestial realm have some kind of connection with the Freljord and Demacia?
Caleb's head was full of questions.
But in the current chaos, there was probably no way to answer them.
The Aspect of Twilight could definitely answer most of his questions.
But right now, she clearly had no chance to tell him anything.
To be honest, though, even without the demons interfering, those noble Aspects probably would not tell Caleb a single thing.
Help the Aspects drive this bunch away. After all, at the end of the day, demons were only creatures that fed on negative emotions.
But the spiritual realm itself was an ocean that flowed freely.
All kinds of different emotions were born every day, and demons would only greedily keep eating without bringing this world any benefit.
Just like the Darkin back then, who fought each other fiercely to seize territory.
Caleb raised his eyes and looked at those flocks of ravens, as well as Nocturne and Fiddlesticks, who were still chasing Zoe relentlessly.
"What?"
A chill struck Caleb's heart. He only felt the fear deep within him being stirred awake.
"This…"
In a haze, Caleb opened his eyes. This was not his office in Zaun, nor was it Piltover's council hall.
This was the bed from his previous life, and there were people gathered around him.
Caleb could faintly hear something. He could also see himself, his face as pale as paper.
"Did I die?"
Caleb turned his head. His computer still had Kai'Sa's wallpaper on it, along with that icon he knew so well.
"No!"
He bit down on the tip of his tongue. The runic energy throughout his body flowed again, as naturally as breathing.
With Absolute Focus helping him, Caleb finally managed to pull himself out of that indescribable fear.
"What a shame I don't have the Resolve tree, or I would've broken free even faster."
Nullifying Orb frantically absorbed the damage Caleb suffered. Originally, only a few ravens had set their sights on Caleb's side.
Even then, it still took Absolute Focus, Nullifying Orb, and Manaflow Band together to let Caleb break free from the control.
"As expected of the first of demons. Even its spare attention managed to control me."
Caleb wiped the sweat from his forehead. Pantheon's Aspect power had already remained inside Atreus's body.
And the soul that had descended from the dark constellation was still continuing to fight Atreus for control over that body.
But Atreus was obviously no longer the reckless rookie who had been seized by a descending Aspect back then. He had long since become a great warrior.
While the two were still fighting over control of the body, Caleb had already resumed attacking the wounded Tahm.
After Kai'Sa evolved into an Ascended, the wings on her back could produce even greater speed.
Tahm's giant tongue was flexible, but before Icathian Rain and Caleb's blade, it seemed somewhat fragile.
After all, Caleb's blade was an artifact blessed by Ornn, and it also carried the wind element of his swordsmanship.
With all kinds of bonuses stacked together, Tahm's strength truly did not look like much.
"You worked hard, submerging all the way here from the depths of Bilgewater."
There was no mercy in Caleb's blade. A wailing soul drifted into his arms.
"My health is already back to half?"
With Taste of Blood restoring his body, Caleb handled Tahm with ease.
After all, back in Piltover, the Ascended Yaanogel had once scared this demon badly.
The demons' strongest era had been the Rune Wars, not the Darkin War.
Why? Of course it was because the Darkin were each more ruthless than the last. How would the demons dare go and feed on negative emotions then?
It was only during the Rune Wars, when humans were the main actors, that they got to eat their fill.
"You can't get it, you can't get it, nya-nya…"
Zoe even found time to make a face at the two great demons chasing her.
"She really is mischievous enough."
"Atreus, do you need help?"
Under Aphelios's frantic barrage, a clear beam of moonlight spilled down onto Tahm just as he was about to burrow underground.
The thick hide he had accumulated over so many years had already been mostly consumed when he blocked the Paddle Stars.
After that, every bit of blood he lost meant the greed he had eaten before had been wasted.
Although Tahm called himself the River King, in this situation, of course it still pained him greatly.
But Bilgewater did not lack desperate men, and naturally, it did not lack endless greed either.
As long as he could return, he could use Nagakabouros as cover and slowly recover.
However, the small purple spheres circling around him shattered his hope.
"How can this be?"
Tahm was unwilling to accept it, but after that, he saw the merciless blade.
His two long whiskers trembled. Unwilling to give up, Tahm spat out his tongue again, only to be repelled by a sudden missile.
If one looked closely, there was even a small, slow-moving missile inside that missile.
"We held him!"
Demons, as the name implied, naturally committed every evil.
So when Caleb struck hard against them, he did not hesitate in the slightest.
"How do you actually kill this thing for good?"
"Forget it. I'll ask Brother Trox later."
Caleb did not pause. He drove his blade into Tahm's body, then twisted it viciously. Youmuu's Wraithblade suddenly erupted with intense heat.
If this had been a person, there probably would not even be ashes left. They would have been reduced to dust and scattered away.
But Tahm was worthy of being a demon, with the advantage of long years behind him.
Even though Caleb's strike had nearly run him through and he had taken the full brunt of the heat, it still seemed not to have wounded his vitals.
A bolt of lightning struck down from above, and Caleb's speed increased again. He twisted his body aside, avoiding the giant tongue that came at him once more.
"Looks like you really aren't suited for fighting."
Caleb crouched slightly, then slashed out with all his strength.
Fate Sealed!
By the time Caleb landed after using Last Breath, Tahm's body had already vanished.
"Did he escape? Or did he die?"
Caleb frowned. Among these demons, each one had more lives on their hands than the last.
This was also where Caleb's confidence came from.
"Next, let's see which of us can make the other feel fear."
Caleb placed a Jack in the Box on the ground, switched to twin blades, and decided to become a sunny young man.
Aspects and demons, the best outcome would be mutual destruction, but things were never that perfect.
Once the other Aspects arrived, these two demons would lose a layer of skin even if they did not die.
Rather than that, it was better to use this chance to let Pantheon firmly take the top spot on Mount Targon.
In any case, these Aspects did not particularly care who became the leader.
The Solari were chosen first because they could fight, and second because they were obedient.
But what about after Atreus became the strongest one?
