The thick spear from Grand Starfall pierced straight through Nocturne's chest at a ridiculous speed.
"Speaking of which, what was Nocturne called again? Moten? Noc?"
Caleb could not remember right away, and Nocturne, who had been chasing Zoe through the darkness, had not expected a sudden chill to stab through his back either.
The twin blades bound to Nocturne's hands immediately changed direction and came straight for Caleb.
"Great… I really do know how to make more work for myself…"
Watching Nocturne rush toward him at high speed, Caleb calmly scattered two more boxes.
But as a fellow demon, Nocturne had his own ways of plunging people into fear.
Caleb had investigated him before this. At the time, he had thought Nocturne was still sealed away in Demacia, sealed by Lux, no less…
That gave Caleb quite a bit of confidence in facing this thing.
A gale swept toward Nocturne as he charged straight at him, but a shield silently lit up around Nocturne's body, just like Caleb's Nullifying Orb.
But Nullifying Orb could only block magic damage. Nocturne seemed to have entered some kind of immune state.
After that gust of wind, Nocturne drew closer and closer.
Caleb took a few steps forward on his own, so he would not drag Kai'Sa and Aphelios behind him into this.
Kai'Sa was fine. She was already fairly agile, and after Ascension, while she was not entirely used to her strength yet, she had already begun adapting to her evolved body in battle.
As for Aphelios, he had no mobility skills. Before Caleb found him a Galeforce, it was better not to get him caught up in this.
Aphelios had also left quite a few wounds on Tahm Kench earlier.
Compared to the Aspect of the Sun, the Aspect of the Moon seemed more closely connected to the spirit realm, so against demons, Aphelios had actually gained a special advantage.
But Caleb was not going to say much about that. Atreus and Pantheon were still fighting, and if Atreus could not bring out the Aspect of War's power here, then it would all be pointless.
There was almost no need to worry about the Aspects in the Celestial Realm. Branded as heretics who had stolen authority, Atreus had no way to master this place unless he killed every being of Mount Targon.
So Caleb was in no hurry to finish Nocturne off. Instead, he continued tangling with him using his gale swordsmanship.
"Atreus! Are you done yet? We're waiting on you!"
Seeing that the man still had not made much progress, Caleb could not help raising his voice and shouting.
"Almost!"
Atreus could not help turning back and roaring.
"Fine, fine, hurry it up."
The pressure on Zoe dropped sharply. Paddle Stars, bubbles, and fireworks immediately scattered in every direction.
"Crown!"
Fiddlesticks' body twisted as it pursued her relentlessly in an extremely bizarre posture.
"Is it that key?"
Caleb actually still had the leisure to glance over at the fight on that side while battling, since until Atreus woke up on this side, killing a few demons would not mean much.
The blade of light worked very well against Nocturne's attacks, and after Caleb's first strike, he immediately split into two bodies.
Each one held two long blades, constantly harassing Nocturne with the help of his Jack in the Boxes.
"Get away!"
Black smoke billowed around Nocturne, and his patience began wearing down.
"What is with all these strange things on this guy?"
Nocturne was extremely irritated. Before this, a girl with a gift for light magic had sealed him away in Demacia.
If Fiddlesticks had not awakened later, Nocturne might still have had to endure the long slumber of that seal.
Power had clearly been within reach, yet he had been unable to obtain it, unable to claim it. What a painful thing that was.
Afterward, he had also paid a visit to the Twin Cities, but he had gained nothing.
Now it seemed that his greatest mistake back then had been not killing this guy with the light-infused long blades!
Light weapons were somewhat similar to the moonstone weapons Aphelios carried. They were also made from the "holy stones" of the Blessed Isles.
But according to Thresh, there was probably something very deep beneath all of that…
Caleb had also begun to suspect that those monks might not have been so kindhearted after all.
A divine spring that could bring the dying back to life was probably a priceless treasure.
That made it easier to imagine why Viego had been so determined to slaughter his way onto the island.
And the weapons said to be "driven only by faith in the light" could actually be used with just a thought.
According to Thresh, those weapons might originally have been torture implements.
Of course, Caleb was not thinking about that now. Once Nocturne was dealt with, all that remained was waiting for Atreus to return.
Pantheon's shouts grew louder and louder. It seemed he was starting to lose confidence.
Atreus' gaze, on the other hand, became firm. His arrogance was constantly fading away, and Caleb figured it was about time.
"Do it!"
Caleb's figure holding the light-infused long blades was shattered by Nocturne, leaving only three boxes scattered on the ground.
"Die!"
Only then did Caleb remember that during Spirit Blossom, Yone had also defeated an azakana demon together with Yasuo.
The two brothers at the end, one used Fate Sealed to shatter the spirit.
The other used Last Breath to drain the body of life.
Mm… What convenient skills for travel, home life, murder, and tying up loose ends.
Caleb silently pondered this while greatly increasing how often he used Mortal Steel.
Having once been possessed by a Darkin, his body no longer seemed built the same way as an ordinary human's.
With more runes surging through his body, it seemed as though his entire body could communicate with the whole world.
Under Yaanogel's and Manaflow Band's modifications, Caleb's body was still hard to judge in terms of mana storage, but in terms of mana flow speed, he could already be considered the peak of what a human could reach.
"Done!"
Pantheon's unwilling roar almost echoed through the starry sky as the dark constellation pulled him back again.
Without the constellation to contain his soul, he likely would have already scattered between heaven and earth.
The days ahead were still long. Even if Atreus still held the Aspect of War's power for now, he was still a mortal.
The years of the Aspects were endless. Pantheon would eventually find an opportunity to join forces with other Aspects, possess someone else, and shatter Atreus' will again.
As long as a new Aspect of War had not yet been born, his opportunities would keep coming.
"Next, only he's left."
Caleb raised his head and looked at the monster whose body had multiple segmented limbs.
"The Demon King, the Ancient Fear."
"After today, I'm afraid you'll be entering a long night too."
The multicolored radiance unique to the Aspects lit up once more around Atreus, and he leapt high into the air.
"Okay, we can just watch now…"
The demons, who had originally divided their work in an orderly fashion, had been separated and dealt with one by one by the intruders. Zoe looked rather delighted, while Fiddlesticks' expression could not be read.
"What about this guy?"
Aphelios' Crescendum split off several small Gravitums, constantly suppressing Nocturne, who had been pinned to the ground by the light-infused long sword.
"We'll deal with him in a bit."
Caleb raised his head, watching the radiant power unleashed by an Aspect at full strength.
It did not take long for Atreus' Grand Starfall to catch up to Fiddlesticks. The demon had already been fighting on hostile ground, and his disadvantage had now become a rout.
Although the source of that power was not exactly legitimate, Caleb still could not help sighing with admiration.
Damn, that looked cool…
