Cho'Gath could only watch helplessly as the light vanished. In midair, he could barely twist his body.
Frost completely covered his legs, and inside the thunderclouds, countless bolts of lightning came crashing toward him.
"Power from the Void?"
Caleb did not give him much time. Ornn's hammer came down with a brutal strike, and cracks began spreading through Cho'Gath's body.
Flames burst from inside him again. Under the violent shift between heat and cold, even that tough hide began to show weaknesses.
Another heavy blow from the hammer almost wiped Cho'Gath's combat strength away completely.
Body fluid sprayed out, nearly covering the entire battlefield.
Caleb had no intention of letting that thing's fluids spill across the whole battlefield. After all, that stuff was green.
"Finish him, fast!"
As lightning struck down again, even someone as tough as Cho'Gath became barely alive.
Then he was wrapped in ordinary ice, and at that point, Cho'Gath could be considered dealt with.
He would not contaminate the battlefield, and they could simply wait for him to slowly die.
Unlike creatures of the mortal realm, once Void creatures were wounded, their injuries were almost irreversible.
Even Cho'Gath, one of the few beings capable of healing his own wounds, had to rely on eating and devouring to do it.
Now that his entire mouth had been sealed by True Ice, and his energy was constantly being drained, he probably could no longer cause effective damage on the battlefield.
The two enormous constructs and the three demigods who had broken free also threw themselves back into the battlefield at the same time.
As for Atreus and Diana, they had also broken out of the swarm of Balestriders.
Caleb shifted his gaze back below the abyss, only for his vision to suddenly go dark.
A huge black blur shot out from nowhere and rushed into the sky.
When Caleb finally saw it clearly, he realized it was Aatrox.
Aatrox held his greatsword in one hand, while his other hand dragged some tentacled thing.
"What is he doing?"
The Darkin seemed furious as he hurled the Void creature in his hand high into the air.
Then a laser poured down toward the ground, making even the surrounding air grow hotter.
"Vel'Koz?"
From those torn organs, Caleb still recognized the creature's identity.
Its laser came from its eye, but the range was limited after all.
High in the sky, rolling thunder completely tore apart the creature that was still trying its best to cause damage.
As its corpse crashed heavily to the ground, the entire Void force was suppressed by all of the Freljord.
The Void portal had already closed after the earlier descent ritual.
Faced with endless Black Ice, why would they keep opening a portal in front of a seal that had endured for so long?
That also meant that once the seal was broken in an instant, the Void had no way to provide reinforcements.
These Voidborn and the Watchers of the Void could only fight alone.
The powerful Voidborn had now been dealt with by the Darkin, the demigods, and the Aspects working together.
That meant the only things they had to watch out for next were the Watchers.
Caleb did not dare grow careless. Beneath the Void, those half-awake beings could still defend themselves effectively through instinct alone.
The mortals, together with the Mecha suits and Mecha Kha'Zix, leapt through the insect tide. Almost every jump meant the death of another monster.
And after Mecha Malphite left Cho'Gath's side, it blocked most of the long-range attacks.
Caleb looked at Aatrox high up in the sky and could not help feeling moved.
On paper, Caleb had the World Runes and the enhancement of those abilities.
But aside from combat techniques, Aatrox probably only knew some blood magic.
Beyond that, he had the abilities of the Ascended.
In truth, that was still far inferior to Caleb's arsenal. After all, Caleb had unlocked an Ascended ability a long time ago.
The killing moves he now possessed even came from the Void plane and Aurelion Sol himself.
But Caleb knew he would never be able to beat Vel'Koz half to death at the bottom of the abyss and throw him into the sky.
That was the gap in experience. Although Aatrox's abilities were not as varied as Caleb's, and although he did not have Caleb's flashy passives, Aatrox had truly killed beings like these before.
That was why, no matter what enemy he faced, he could still gain the advantage.
All Caleb could say was that Aatrox truly deserved to be called one of the peaks of both the Ascended and the Darkin.
Caleb felt as if he were looking up at a mountain. This was the kind of person the summit of this world required.
By contrast, after losing the system, Caleb's combat power had almost stopped improving.
It looked like Caleb would have to keep building a good relationship with Shurima.
No matter how good his ties with Mount Targon were, their main forces were still among the stars.
Shurima was the real deal. Loyal, vast, and when trouble came, they actually showed up.
Although Ixtal's current empress, Qiyana, had ambition, they were still somewhat weak.
Once they recovered their strength, Caleb could deepen cooperation with them.
For now, being able to exchange resources, maintain trade, and borrow their ports had already benefited Caleb greatly.
As the earth trembled again, Caleb knew the true battle was about to begin.
The Watchers of the Void had finally recovered from Caleb's Voice of Light and raised their single eyes from beneath the abyss.
But what greeted these two "honored guests" was boiling lava, violent lightning, and piercing True Ice.
Caleb turned his head and saw Kai'Sa covering the battlefield with Icathian Rain.
He let out a soft sigh. Facing those two Watchers of the Void, Caleb knew this was the most important problem they had to deal with now.
There was no time to hesitate.
Caleb summoned a comet again. It streaked across the edge of the sky and slammed straight toward the Watcher of the Void.
Soraka also gave everyone another blessing at just the right moment, filling everyone's health back up.
Caleb's face was slightly pale, but his eyes remained firm.
If they could not deal with them here, then Shurima and Mount Targon would probably fall completely afterward.
The high-end fighters split into two groups. One group was made up of demigods and Ascended, while the other was Caleb and the Aspects.
Summon Aery covered Caleb's entire body, preventing him from collapsing the first time he saw a Watcher of the Void.
Nullifying Orb triggered automatically, followed by the surge of Manaflow Band.
Caleb froze for a moment. So this counted too?
Grand Starfall and Moonfall struck at the same time, and Equinox also enveloped the Watcher in front of Caleb.
On the other side, the horn sounded again. Summoning such an enormous ram spirit was surely a burden even for Ornn.
Caleb held back for a moment, finding it difficult to mobilize the energy inside him.
After Stormbringer activated, Caleb managed to hold on for another short while in front of the Watcher.
Then the cooldown ended.
Caleb let out a long roar and changed the battlefield again.
Voice of Light!
A tremendous wave of energy surged out from Caleb's body, pouring toward the Watcher and the abyss behind it.
