Chapter 13 - Absolute Chaos: Ice & Fire

The aura from Glacior and Ignivar erupted so powerfully that the space around them distorted as a result.

Michael didn't understand what they were doing, but he was sure they were about to unleash their ultimate moves. His eyes were fixed, not wanting to miss a single moment as the two demigods went all out.

Around Glacior's body, ice crystals condensed in the air. His eyelashes froze because of it, his hair that was floating in the wind also became frozen solid. It was hard to guess how much the temperature around him had dropped, but if a normal person got close, they'd definitely turn into an ice statue.

As for Ignivar, he was the complete opposite. The space around him was distorted, like he was next to a furnace at an extremely high temperature. His hair floated up as if pushed by hot air, and his eyes blazed with a flame mixed with black, looking extremely dangerous. His entire body emitted a dark red aura as if he were someone who crawled up from hell.

The two moved closer to each other and reached out toward the other. Their palms contained energy of extreme heat and extreme cold, completely contrasting, which they forcibly cooperated on together.

Fourth technique - Hellfire Apocalypse!

Fourth technique - Eternal Ice Dominion!

Fusion technique - Absolute Chaos: Ice & Fire!

Within a radius of twenty thousand meters around those two, space suddenly fluctuated in the blink of an eye. This kind of terrifying technique had the power, like a god, to change the entire surrounding environment.

The ground, once full of life, now suddenly became so dry it cracked and turned black as if burned by fire. A terrifying flame, red mixed with black, covered the entire ground, as if wanting to melt even the sky.

It didn't distinguish friend from foe, only strength from weakness. Any weakling who stepped into it would be burned to ash immediately, be they energy monsters or any other kind of creature.

But it didn't stop there. Something even more extreme appeared right after. In the middle of this hellish sea of fire, snowflakes, in some bizarre way, fell continuously, making the scene incredibly eerie.

Those tiny snowflakes looked like they'd melt with just a breath, yet under that terrifying flame, they remained completely unharmed. The moment they touched the ground, just a small speck would freeze an entire large area of earth.

Up above, surrounded by those strange snowflakes; down below, hellfire burned without end. These two things contrasted to the extreme, making anyone's body forced to endure both types of force at the same time feel like it was about to shatter.

Michael's eyes widened in shock, his mouth hanging open, unable to close. The sun-like fireball and the giant sword aura from earlier had already shaken him, but a destructive power that affected the entire environment on such a wide scale was even more shocking.

"Holy shit, how am I supposed to be a god? Any of these people could randomly pick someone and they'd look more like a god than me."

He watched and cursed at the same time, feeling a bit thrilled but also somewhat scared inside. If he ran into an attack from this kind of terrifying existence before he got strong enough, he'd definitely be dead before he could do anything about it.

The system had never stopped observing Michael. Seeing the fear in his heart, it felt a bit more at ease. If Michael got locked up for a thousand years on his very first job, it would feel like a pretty big failure itself.

Michael shifted his gaze to where Rias and Raphael were. The space there was now hazy with smoke and fire, so it was a bit hard to see clearly.

"I wonder how these two plan to deal with this terrifying skill…" Michael felt like he had forgotten something extremely important. Frowning, he thought for a moment, then suddenly remembered the existence of the chosen one.

The chosen one was just a newborn baby right now. Not even talking about the present, even if he was a twelve or eighteen-year-old or something, running into this situation would mean certain death. These techniques were fundamentally not something a human could withstand.

He was feeling extremely anxious now. If the chosen one died, then what was he supposed to do? The wisher hadn't even made a wish yet and he was already dead... Then would he have to suffer some kind of unjust punishment?

The more he thought about it, the more Michael felt like he was about to cry in frustration. He definitely had to clarify this with the system. There was no way in hell he was taking responsibility for the chosen one's death this time.

"System, you can't lock me up because the chosen one died. That kid, in this situation, can they even survive?"

[…]

The system didn't expect Michael to already be panicking like this before anything had even happened. But it couldn't really blame him for thinking that way. He was a guy from Earth. So he didn't understand how ridiculously far these divine beings could go.

[You don't need to worry. I never punish unjustly. If there's any mistake, I'll compensate very quickly, so just watch the rest with peace of mind. Watch to broaden your horizons. Don't be like a frog looking at the sky from the bottom of a well.]

Seeing the system so confident and in the mood to lecture him, Michael felt relieved. As for these kinds of lectures, he'd heard plenty of them already, but there was one issue: he didn't get it. Or maybe it was more like he didn't care, so he didn't need to understand.

Sure enough, things weren't about to end that easily. Before the hellfire could even approach, Rias had already started drawing another magic circle in the air.

Second technique – Mirror Reflect Cube!

Instantly, six gleaming glass panels protected her six sides, forming a cube-shaped box. The extremely dangerous snowflakes and the hellfire, upon contact with it, were immediately deflected and collided with each other.

Even though the snow and hellfire were under Glacior's and Ignivar's control, Rias's reflect had caused them to cancel each other out.
