Chapter 2 - The Great Beginning

On an ordinary dawn in a small meadow that connects to a forest if you look into the distance, you can see a stone shaped like a perfect square, on top of that stone lies an albino child face up with his limbs spread out.

If it weren't for the fact that his limbs are tied to broken ropes that were once connected to the corners of that stone it would be an incredibly peaceful and beautiful scene.

Even more so if we take into account that the aforementioned child is covered in scars on all his limbs and one across his chest, making it clear that his body had suffered torture before his final sacrifice.

Even so, despite the horrible marks that revealed the child's fate there was no trace of blood anywhere.

And to make things even more surprising what should have been the corpse of a child no older than five years old began trying to open its eyes with difficulty, so much so that it took about two minutes before he finally managed to open them.

Honestly it surprises me that it took him so long, although I suppose that's to be expected when you try to move a body that has been dead for who knows how long.

… Meh, I guess that's one of the perks of not having a body to worry about, anyway as you've probably already guessed the recently animated corpse is our protagonist who has just arrived in this world.

Once our protagonist finally managed to open his eyes the first thing he did was try to move his body, however he wasn't able to as his body was still processing the fact that it had come back to life.

Even so he didn't give up and after another three minutes of effort he finally managed to move a finger.

... Yeah, this is going to take a long time so let's skip the part where he regains full control of that body.

*Twenty minutes later*

- ... This isn't my body.

Said the protagonist as he looked at his scarred bound hands, still lying on what was clearly some kind of demonic sacrifice altar which is rather surprising if you ask me, after all demons don't exist in Pokémon.

- ... Shit, please tell me this isn't what I think it is.

He said somewhat frustrated after untying the ropes around his hands, and as if answering his words he heard in his head a sound that many protagonists in other novels would love but which only irritates him more because it reminds him of his miserable new reality.

*Ding*

[Loading system....]

- HOLY FUCKING SHIT!! WHY ME YOU SONS OF BITCHES?! WHAT KIND OF FUCKING LUCK IS THIS?!

Exclaimed the sweet little princess with her adorable voice *bursts into laughter*

[System loaded, please say "Synchronize" to activate the system.]

- ... *Takes a deep breath* No.

*The laughter stops abruptly* ... What?

[… What?]

- I said no, at least not yet.

... Okay, I guess I mocked this protagonist too soon.

[… May I ask why?]

The system asked, its tone surprised despite its synthetic voice.

- I just don't want to yet that's all, also read my surface thoughts, I don't like talking out loud.

The protagonist said sounding both indifferent and frustrated.

[… Understood.]

The system replied returning to its neutral tone.

- Thanks.

The protagonist though before finally deciding to get down from the stone altar he was on without untying the ropes around his feet for some reason.

Once he got down from the altar he decided to start walking north... assuming the sun rises in the east, I'm not entirely sure which direction the sun rises in the Pokémon universe.

After walking in complete silence for about two minutes under the dawn sun he reached the edge of the forest, once there he decided to try climbing a tree.

After climbing a tree and standing on a relatively large branch for someone as small as he is, he saw in the distance a Pidgey feeding its chicks a Caterpie, and upon seeing that scene the protagonist couldn't help but murmur more out of instinct than will

- Pokémon.

After watching the Caterpie being torn apart by the Pidgey's chicks he snapped back to his senses, and realizing what he had said he decided to speak to the system again

- If you want me to synchronize with you tell me something, what's the condition for returning to my reality?

[The condition for returning to your reality is to change the entire timeline of a Pokémon world.]

- I see... In that case "Synchronize"

[System synchronized, you can now view your status window.]

- Status window.

The protagonist said out loud to add more drama to the situation as he sat down on the branch.

[Name: { empty }

Titles: The Cursed One, The One Observed by Arceus, Sniper

Timeline Change Percentage: 0% (no one knows you across time)

Stats: { average adult human: 5 }

- Strength: 2

- Agility: 4

- Regeneration: 3

- Processing: 6

- Charisma: { Not applicable due to curse }

Talents: { empty }

Inventory: { empty }

Curses: False Eternal Life, False Kingless Land, Until Death, Death or Fame, Indebted Soul, Tortured Soul, Chained Soul { More inaccessible due to: Wrath of Arceus }

Blessings: Wrath of Arceus ]

Upon seeing his status window the protagonist couldn't help but widen his eyes in surprise as he looked at the curses section, but after thinking for a moment the look of surprise faded from his face and was replaced by one of understanding.

- So in the end, those soul deals Miguel made offering me as a sacrifice actually worked.

The protagonist thought before focusing again on the name section, and slightly confused he decided to ask his system:

- System, why doesn't my name appear if my name is clearly Mark?

[Because while your name was Mark, that was the name of your previous life, not this one.]

- I see... In that case, set my name to Omega.

[Understood.]

[Name: Omega

After seeing the changes the protagonist nodded then stood back up on the branch and began descending the tree, once he reached the ground he started walking back toward the stone altar, and as he walked he spoke to his system

- System, now tell me where in the Pokémon world I am.

[You are in Hisui, the ancient name of the Sinnoh region.]

- Before or after the events of Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

[Before.]

- I understand... In that case guide me to the nearest human settlement.

[Understood.]

After the system indicated the directions, the protagonist began walking once again toward the forest in search of a village while reading the description of every curse he had.

What does our protagonist plan to do? Even I don't know, what I know is that at the moment of his awakening a god of omniversal rank began observing him with barely contained anger, because due to our protagonist several malicious entities began to observe his creation forcing him to interfere to prevent it from falling into external corruption.

And why doesn't he simply get rid of our protagonist? Well, he obviously already tried but couldn't since as is evident our protagonist is protected by a higher-dimensional being, aka, The Writer

Oh, and before I forget, the descriptions of the curses are as follows

False Eternal Life: your soul is bound to the mortal plane but your body can still grow, age, and decay.

Until Death: only one partner of the opposite gender will be allowed per life, but that partner will be obsessed with you until their death.

False Kingless Land: if someone swears loyalty to you or to something you represent, that loyalty will remain until their death or until you betray what you represented.

Death or Fame: whenever the opportunity arises, death will come for you, however if you survive your popularity will permanently increase whether positive or negative.

Indebted Soul: you have sold your soul so many times that there is no longer any possibility of an afterlife for you, forcing all those who hold control over your soul to resurrect you if they do not want to fight over it.

Tortured Soul: you will suffer unimaginable torture once you die due to the scam you pulled on all the beings you sold your soul to, before being brought back to life.

Chained Soul: you can no longer use your soul as a bargaining method with any other being without prior authorization from those who already hold control over it.
