The night after everything happened felt heavier than usual.
Even inside his luxurious mansion, Kim couldn't escape the cold ghost of yesterday's events. He had replayed every moment—the mysterious girl's voice, Mira's fear, and the whisper that didn't belong to this world.
"Why me…? Why now?"
He sat near his window, watching the city lights flicker like dying fireflies. Sleep refused to come close to him. His heartbeat felt louder than the silence around him.
Then—
KNOCK.
Not loud.
Not rushed.
Just… deliberate.
Kim stood slowly, footsteps hesitant, and opened the door.
No one.
Only an envelope on the floor.
His name written in elegant handwriting:
"Kim Seon."
That name again.
A name no one used anymore.
His chest tightened.
He opened the envelope with shaking fingers.
Inside was a tiny paper:
"When the cracks return, follow them."
—And the same broken circle symbol from his nightmares.
Kim swallowed.
Someone wasn't just watching him.
Someone was guiding him.
1 — Morning Arrives, But Peace Does Not
The next morning, Kim looked like someone who had lost a battle in his own dreams.
Servants greeted him with the usual polite tone—
"Good morning, Young Master Kim!"
—but he barely responded.
Breakfast was untouched.
"School," he told the driver quietly.
During the ride, he rested his forehead against the window glass.
"Is this all connected? The dream… that girl… Mira's fear… and this symbol?"
But there were no answers waiting for him.
Only more silence.
2 — Seoul High Doesn't Feel Normal Anymore
When Kim entered the school gates, he immediately felt it.
Eyes on him.
Whispers.
Curiosity.
Everyone had heard something about the girl who appeared and disappeared yesterday.
"That girl knew Kim."
"Mira looked scared."
"Is something going on?"
Kim lowered his gaze.
He didn't want any attention—not today.
Jisoo rushed to him.
"BRO! Dude—what happened to your face!? You look like a zombie."
Kim forced a tiny smile.
"Couldn't sleep."
Taehyun added, "Something's off, bro. Just tell us if you need help."
Kim nodded, but inside…
nothing felt alright.
3 — Mira's Worry Is Becoming Harder to Hide
When Kim entered Class 11B, Mira was waiting beside his desk.
Her eyes widened when she saw him.
"Kim… you look exhausted. Are you okay?"
Kim didn't answer immediately.
Mira gently touched his wrist.
Her fingers were warm, comforting—
But Kim flinched.
The touch triggered a flash—
a memory?
a fragment?
a sound breaking?
someone falling?
His breath hitched.
Mira instantly became nervous.
"Did something happen last night?"
Before he could speak—
Teacher walked in.
Mira mouthed silently,
"We'll talk later."
Kim sat down, but his heart wasn't where his body was.
Something inside him was starting to awaken.
4 — Lunch: Answers? Or Worse Questions?
The cafeteria was loud.
But for Kim, the world felt muted.
Mira sat next to him. Jisoo, Hana, Taehyun—all were unusually serious.
"Kim," Mira whispered, "please tell me what's happening."
Kim finally spoke.
"There's… a girl. From yesterday. And she left another message last night."
Mira froze.
Hana whispered, "Bro… are you sure it's not someone messing with you?"
Kim shook his head.
"She said I promised her something. Something important. And… I don't remember anything."
Before Mira could respond—
CRACK!
A tray fell on the floor behind them.
The sound was exactly the same as in Kim's nightmares.
Kim's hands shook uncontrollably.
Mira grabbed his shoulder.
"Kim!"
He stared at the broken tray.
The cracks…
the shape…
the same broken circle symbol.
Someone wasn't just warning him.
Someone was reenacting his nightmares in real life.
5 — After School: The Corridor That Shouldn't Exist
School ended, but Kim didn't go home.
His feet automatically led him to the old hallway—
the place where the girl had appeared yesterday.
The corridor felt colder.
Lights flickered.
Shadows stretched unnaturally long.
Kim whispered,
"Why do I feel like something here remembers me…?"
Then—
FOOTSTEPS.
Soft.
Behind him.
He turned.
No one.
But he felt a presence.
A shadow slid around the corner.
Silent.
Watching.
Kim followed it, heartbeat loud in his ears.
6 — The Third Note
On the old wooden bench lay another envelope.
Kim picked it up.
Same handwriting.
Same elegance.
Inside:
"Mira knows. Ask her before it's too late."
Kim froze.
Why Mira?
Why always Mira?
Before he could think—
BANG!
A locker door slammed shut by itself.
Kim jerked back.
The lights flickered violently, throwing sharp shadows everywhere.
A silhouette stood at the far end of the hallway.
Not moving.
Not hiding.
Just staring at him.
Kim whispered,
"…Is that you?"
The silhouette didn't reply.
But Kim felt the air tighten around him.
Then—
It vanished.
No footsteps.
No sound.
Just emptiness.
7 — Mira Finds The Truth Too Late
"Kim!"
Mira came running toward him, breathless.
She grabbed his arm tightly.
"I've been looking for you! Why did you come alone? It's dangerous!"
Kim stared at her carefully.
"Mira… do you know something about that girl?"
Mira's eyes shook.
She hesitated.
Looked away.
Swallowed hard.
"Mira… tell me the truth," Kim demanded.
Mira opened her mouth—
But…
The hallway went pitch black.
Lights off.
Total silence.
Mira held Kim's arm with both hands.
"Kim… don't move…"
Then—
A whisper floated in the darkness.
Soft.
Sad.
Angry.
"You can't hide him forever, Mira…"
Kim's blood froze.
The voice was the mysterious girl's.
But she wasn't speaking to him.
She was speaking to Mira.
"Mira… what is she talking about?" Kim whispered.
When the lights flickered back, Mira's face had completely drained of color.
"Kim…" she whispered, "there is something you need to know… something from years ago."
Kim stepped closer.
"Mira… tell me."
Mira trembled.
"You made a promise. A big one. And I was there when you made it."
Kim's mind went blank.
"What promise…?"
Mira opened her mouth—
But before she could speak—
A paper fell from the ceiling.
Kim picked it up.
The handwriting was sharp.
Clear.
Cold:
"Once again… the cracks are opening."
Kim looked up—
The ceiling had hairline cracks appearing across it…
Spreading…
Growing…
Just like in his nightmares.
Mira gasped,
"No… not again… Kim RUN!"
The ground beneath them rumbled lightly.
Kim staggered back, heart racing—
Because this time…
the cracks were real, alive, and growing.
