"Alright, then you'll be responsible for helping me develop a portable device that can be copied. I've recently found some information about a serum that can restore lost memories, and I'll help you get yours back soon." Eddie also stated his terms.
"What would you think of me if I were a scientist with blood on my hands?" Suzuki Yoko suddenly asked.
Eddie smiled, patted her shoulder, and gave a thumbs up, "We'd still be good friends. Good friends help each other. I'm more worried you'd look down on me because your IQ is too high."
"No, we'll still be good friends, Eddie!" Suzuki Yoko smiled sweetly, exuding the gentle temperament of an island nation woman.
"Do you know how to use firearms? I have guns here; you can use them freely. There's been a virus leak in the Arklay Mountains, and many strange monsters might appear. There's a high-voltage electric fence around, so you still need to be careful." Eddie nodded.
"I do; I remember how to use firearms. Your place seems very safe; you don't need to worry about me. Give me three days, and I can make it. You have plenty of materials here, so there won't be any problems," Suzuki Yoko said after checking.
"No, I'll stay here with you until you finish. The Arklay Mountains are very dangerous, so I'll wait for you. I'm not used to leaving women in dangerous places." Eddie thought for a moment and decided against returning.
Suzuki Yoko was a very useful talent; if she accidentally died, it would be a huge loss.
Suzuki Yoko was a little stunned; she seemed to rarely be cared for like this. "Wouldn't this delay your work? I'm really fine."
"It's alright, I can work here too. Don't worry." Eddie went to activate the defense system and turn on the electric fence.
Outside the forest, Ada followed behind. The atmosphere in the forest made her feel uneasy; it seemed like some dangerous monster was lurking, ready to pounce on its prey when it wasn't paying attention.
Twenty meters to Ada's right, three Zombie Dogs with rotting skin and disfigured faces were ambushing in the grass, watching their prey. They didn't care if the prey was human or animal, or if it was pretty; they only cared if they could eat it.
One effect of the T-Virus was to accelerate metabolism, at the cost of getting hungry very quickly.
Whoosh! Thud! The three Zombie Dogs launched a rapid charge, running crisscross from different directions. After zombification, apart from their disfigured appearance, their other functions remained very good. Aside from being uncontrollable, they were very suitable as biochemical weapons!
Ada immediately noticed the Zombie Dogs' charge. Her beautiful eyes narrowed, and without bothering to conceal her position, she decisively pulled out her pistol and accurately shot one of the Zombie Dogs in the head.
Howl! The hit Zombie Dog quickly fell to the ground, while the other two quickly pounced. Ada had to quickly twist and dodge the bites of the two Zombie Dogs.
Suzuki Yoko heard the gunshots and was a little confused, but Eddie waved his hand. "Don't worry, it's probably another monster attack. Go to the lab; I'll handle this. If I'm safe, I'll call out to you."
"Okay, then you be careful too, Eddie-kun!" Suzuki Yoko said respectfully, bowing her head. She was very polite.
Eddie waved his hand, took out his modified gun, and walked out, locking the villa's front door.
Meanwhile, Ada was dodging frantically. It was her first time seeing such monsters, and her intuition told her not to be touched by these rotting wild dogs, or it would be very troublesome.
Bang! Another shot. Ada, while running, also killed another Zombie Dog, leaving only one left.
In an instant, the Zombie Dog disappeared. Ada looked around but found no trace of the monster.
Whoosh! The last Zombie Dog actually jumped onto a tree and pounced on Ada from above. Its ferocious fangs still had undigested chunks of meat, and the putrid smell was nauseating.
Ada tried her best to dodge but still couldn't. Her heart went cold, and for the first time, she realized how close death was. Was her life going to end like this?
Bang! A bullet, carrying the explosive force of gunpowder, flew out, directly knocking the Zombie Dog that jumped from the tree flying. While the target was moving rapidly, it also hit the Zombie Dog in the head with one shot!
A hand quickly pulled Ada away. Eddie dragged Ada and ran wildly. "Hurry up, it's not safe here. Are you sick, traveling here? Don't you read the news?"
Ada was stunned for a moment, not expecting her target to be someone with such a bad temper. For a moment, she didn't speak; now was not the time. In the forest behind them, she could hear some rustling sounds, as if some beasts were preparing to roam.
They quickly ran back to the villa. Only then did Eddie release Ada. He returned to the living room, grabbed two bottles of lemonade, and handed them over. "Who are you, and why are you here? If you don't have urgent business, leave quickly; don't linger here."
Ada put away her pistol and smiled charmingly. "What about you? Why aren't you running?"
"The door is over there. Don't let the door hit you on the way out." Eddie didn't play by the rules and just sent her away.
Ada was a little speechless. Could this man even talk? He was just chasing her away. "Are you telling a weak woman like me to wander the Arklay Mountains?"
Eddie scoffed, "Please, a weak woman wouldn't come here, and alone at that. Your pistol is quite unique. I remember this type of pistol, although it's a common model available in gun stores, its power is good after modification. Otherwise, it wouldn't kill those monsters."
Ada pulled out an ID and waved it, only blurry traces visible. "I'm an agent from the Territorial Security Agency. I'm here to find my boyfriend, John, who is the director of Umbrella's Executive Training Center. I'm not here for tourism, and don't be so rude to me!"
Eddie was taken aback for a moment. Wasn't this the same line Ada used on Leon? How did it end up being used on him? He remembered the first time Leon met Ada, it was this exact scenario, except he saved Ada, while Leon was saved by Ada.
"I don't care if you're an agent or not. I can only tell you that the Executive Training Center has been shut down. You won't find anything if you go now. Why don't you go to Umbrella's headquarters? Maybe your boyfriend is in his office, enjoying the air conditioning, with a beautiful secretary taking care of him." Eddie said indifferently.
Chapter 27: Ada's Cooking is Amazing!
"You know Umbrella's movements? Are you an Umbrella person?" Ada was still acting. It was such a rare opportunity, and she didn't want to miss it. Frankly, Ada was very confident in her charm.
"There's nothing unspeakable. You'll know if you check with Umbrella. Alright, you can go now. Don't go to the Executive Training Center anymore; you'll be in danger there." Eddie warned Ada and then left, picking up a book to read on his own.
"I can't just abandon John." Ada said stubbornly.
"Then go find him." Eddie said without looking back.
"But it's very dangerous there!" Ada looked at Eddie unwillingly.
"Then go die together." Eddie waved his hand dismissively.
"How can you be so cold-blooded! Wait, you know he's dead?" Ada caught a linguistic loophole.
"I don't know. Anyway, I haven't seen him in the office building. You're really annoying. If you want to leave, leave quickly. If not, stay here for one night, and then get out tomorrow." Eddie snorted.
"Then I'll trouble you." Ada didn't refuse and readily agreed. Being able to stay was definitely a good thing. She had to find an opportunity to complete her mission from this strange man.
Ada, in her wine-red ten-centimeter high heels, walked over and sat beside Eddie. "I still don't know your name. Thank you for saving me. Actually, John and I have been pen pals exchanging letters for a long time. I haven't received a letter from him in a long time, and I'm very worried about him, so I wanted to come find him."
"Eddie Cai! That's your business, it has nothing to do with me." Eddie looked at the books Alex had left, which were all literary classics.
"Are you Oriental?" Ada asked curiously.
"My father is Oriental." Eddie said lightly.
"My name is Ada. It seems we're fellow countrymen, then." Ada smiled, her smile very sweet.
"No, I don't hope to meet fellow countrymen." Eddie waved his hand, indicating his strong refusal.
Ada was very confused. "Why? Isn't meeting an old acquaintance in a foreign land a wonderful thing?"
"Haven't you heard the saying, 'When fellow countrymen meet, they stab each other in the back!'" Eddie joked with a straight face.
Pfft! Ada laughed. She had never heard such a saying. "You're really humorous. It should be 'tears streaming down two faces,' right? It's nice to meet you, Eddie!"
"Alright, alright. You're an agent from the Security Agency, so can I trouble you with something?" Eddie suddenly said with a very serious expression.
Ada thought it was something important and sat up straight, nodding. "Tell me, if I can help." Her subconscious thought was that there was still room to refuse.
"Could you please make dinner? For ten people, thank you." After Eddie finished speaking, he lowered his head to read again. Although Ada's stunning beauty amazed him, Jill and Alex were not bad either. He could feel amazed but wouldn't act like a slobbering pig.
Ada was speechless for a moment. She was furious. Wherever she went, she was flattered by men, but now, encountering this so-called Eddie, she was ignored! And he was asking her to cook. Was he treating her as a wife or a servant? Only a wife would cook for her husband, right?
Eddie waited for a while, then looked up at the unmoving Ada. "What, do you mean you can't cook?"
