Chapter 56 - 56

Essentially, Marcus was no longer human; he was merely a monster in human skin, inheriting Marcus's memories.

Opening the large door, Eddie checked his watch. There were still three hours until dawn; it had been a nightmarily long night.

Meanwhile, Wolf Mother Karena led the Delta Team, infiltrating the Mansion. Using a special map, they bypassed dangerous areas and headed towards the underground laboratory.

When Raging Zombies occasionally appeared, Karena would directly punch them apart. Enhanced by the T-Virus, she was incomparable to these infected wastes. Karena also greatly enjoyed the power the T-Virus brought; it was very strong and perfectly suited for combat.

Bertha, the team's medic, watched with flickering eyes. She harbored a subtle yearning, wanting to see the limits of her captain's potential. This entirely new phenomenon held immense attraction for her, and if necessary, she wouldn't mind sacrificing a little something.

Wolf Mother arrived at the underground laboratory, where most of the researchers had already died from infection. After Marcus was injured by Sergei, he launched a frenzied attack on the Mansion, which even Sergei couldn't stop.

As long as the Leech Queen had leeches to replenish herself, she wouldn't die. The only thing that could kill the mutated leeches was ultraviolet light.

"This place is as awful as ever," Hector Hivers, the demolitions expert, muttered.

Whoosh! VECTOR, the ninja, appeared instantly, grabbing a zombie's head from his concealed state and twisting its neck until it broke.

They cleared these mutated creatures, making as little noise as possible, as zombies are attracted to sound. However, there were already very few zombies in the bombed-out laboratory.

Wolf Mother installed a device on the main console and found a rectangular main board. "This is the template for the supercomputer; we'll take it directly."

Ghost, Ninja, and Highway. The three of them together could only barely drag this main board. It was too heavy, weighing over a ton. They were just ordinary people and couldn't move it.

This new main board was part of the supercomputer and was extremely expensive. It was also part of Sergei's planned recovery.

"Are you three even men? You can't even carry this much weight?" Wolf Mother Karena snorted, clearly a bit displeased.

"Boss, this thing is too heavy. We can take out all those scumbags, but carrying things is a no-go for us," Hector Hivers, the demolitions expert, complained.

"Hmph! You really should exercise more." Wolf Mother Karena walked over, grabbed the already packaged rope knot, and with a strong pull, lifted the main board.

This powerful display left the other Wolf Team members astonished. This was clearly something no human could do!

Bertha's gaze fell upon the humanoid monster with giant claws in the cultivation tank. "Is this Umbrella's newest weapon, the Tyrant?"

"That's just discarded trash," Karena snorted, clearly not thinking much of the Tyrant 002 prototype.

The main board, which three men could barely lift, was easily carried by one woman. This loss of face infuriated them, and they could only vent their anger on the monsters. Zombie Dogs, zombies, and Hunters were all angrily killed by the team members; not a single one survived!

Chapter 90: Wolf Mother's Powerful Aura

The dangerous mechanisms in the Mansion had no effect on the elite Wolf Team. They knew the place like the back of their hand, and Wolf Mother Karena was even running quickly while carrying the one-ton main board. Bertha, VECTOR, and the others focused on clearing out all monsters, each one having its head smashed to smithereens.

As soon as they reached the outskirts of the Mansion, they saw two gigantic spiders blocking their way, seemingly having just escaped.

VECTOR, the ninja, stepped forward directly. "Boss, give me two minutes; I'll take care of them."

"Don't even think about stealing my kill; the one on the left is mine," Hector Hivers, the demolitions expert, said fiercely. He didn't want Wolf Mother to look down on him; he wanted to prove himself.

The two quickly charged. The two giant spiders apparently also discovered two very delicious prey and shrieked as they lunged.

Suddenly, VECTOR leaped, face down, avoiding the spider's leg attack. His injured dagger directly sliced off half of the spider's head, and he used the momentum to land behind it. He then pulled out his submachine gun and started firing, turning the spider into a pile of mush.

Hector Hivers, the demolitions expert, on the other hand, attacked wildly and openly. He stuffed a grenade into the spider's fangs, pulled the pin, and then kicked the spider away, quickly retreating himself.

Boom! The grenade exploded, instantly pulverizing the spider!

The entire process took no more than twenty seconds, flowing smoothly. It showcased the professional demeanor of a Tactical Force, something even the Marine Corps couldn't match.

Wolf Mother Karena then said indifferently, "Too slow, VECTOR. You could have just sliced the spider in half with one strike. And you, Hector Hivers, just use a grenade launcher. You wouldn't die if you didn't try to look cool. All that flashy stuff is a failure among failures!"

Both VECTOR and Hector Hivers humbly lowered their heads and listened. Wolf Mother was able to keep the three men firmly under her thumb not because of her captain's status, but because of her strength and her skill in guiding her team members—that was Wolf Mother's true charm.

Ghost began flying the helicopter over. VECTOR lowered the rope, and Highway tied the main board with the rope. The others climbed onto the helicopter via the rope ladder. The mission was successfully completed!

In a small town several hundred kilometers from Raccoon City, Suzuki Yoko had been waiting for a long time. Finally, she received a call and, after hanging up, rushed out to greet them.

Wolf Mother Karena waved her hand, and VECTOR and the other two carried the main board into the factory. Suzuki Yoko began taking out parts to assemble the supercomputer. "Karena, could you please help me modify the truck? The supercomputer must be transported, and a regular truck cannot meet its power supply needs."

"I know. Leave this to me," Karena nodded and took the Wolf Team to modify the truck.

Everyone was busy, carrying out their tasks according to the plan. Eddie and Wesker both tacitly launched their respective plans. They chose not to monitor each other but to let the other develop; now was not the time to be enemies.

As they advanced, Eddie and the others shot down the surging zombie researchers. Marcus seemed to be watching their movements through surveillance footage.

"It's strange; everyone in this research facility seems to have turned into living dead zombies," Rebecca frowned. After a period of adjustment, she had gotten used to it and was no longer nervous.

"Something must have leaked, right? From a biological perspective, there must be some kind of disease that caused them to become like this. What is hidden in this Training Facility? It turned so many people into zombies!" Eddie frowned.

Svetlana felt a little like laughing. This man was actually pretending to be ignorant, even though he himself had modified the T-Virus into a variant strain that could enhance physical fitness.

Even though she wanted to laugh, Svetlana didn't expose the man's lie. Because she was also one of the beneficiaries of the T-Virus, not to mention that she herself was unwilling in her heart, and Annette had also asked her to take good care of Eddie. Being an enemy of Umbrella was definitely very dangerous. The more protection, the more safety.

"Are you saying this Training Facility is actually researching some kind of bacterial disease?" Billy seemed to have caught on to something.

Eddie shook his head. "I don't know. I'm actually a distant relative of Dr. Marcus, one of Umbrella's three founders. The first director here was my uncle, Marcus. Recently, I heard someone was impersonating him and acting mysteriously, which I suspect is related to the appearance of zombies here."

Svetlana's eyes showed a hint of surprise. She truly hadn't known this news, but it wasn't too late to find out now. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"It wouldn't have helped, and this is part of Umbrella's high-level power struggles. I didn't want you to know and put yourself in danger. The safer, the better," Eddie explained.

"Hmph! I'm not that fragile," Svetlana snorted, a strange feeling stirring within her heart.

Rebecca's expression was also very odd. She felt as if there was some inexplicable relationship between these two people.

"You're a good person, I can tell. If you want revenge, I can help you," Billy nodded.

"No, I already know who the culprit is. Besides dealing with the person impersonating my uncle, I also want to make all those accomplices pay the price, one by one. Don't worry, I'm fine." Eddie pulled out a new magazine, reloaded, and then sorted through his magazines, replenishing all the empty ones.

As they delved deeper into the research facility, the situation became even more bizarre. Collapsed walls were everywhere, as if it had been abandoned for a long time. However, the construction quality was still good, and there hadn't been a large-scale collapse.

On the walls, surveillance cameras continued to observe their every move. Eddie directly raised his gun and shot the monitor.

On the other side, in the monitoring room, Marcus sneered, "Tyrant 001, give them a good welcome." With that, he pressed a button.

In a laboratory, the solution in a glass tank slowly began to recede. It had a giant claw on its right hand, with a sharp, conical claw extending to the ground. This was the first Tyrant, with low intelligence, extensive skin rot, and the most unbearable flaw being its uncontrollable nature. It was an early-generation product, merely a beginning.

As the solution receded, the Tyrant began to open its eyes, a hint of cruelty gradually expanding within them. Its exposed heart also began to beat violently and continuously, providing the Tyrant with sufficient power and blood.

Chapter 91: Scolded by Svetlana Again

William, who was conducting experiments in the Raccoon City underground research facility, encountered a problem. He couldn't understand why the Mansion and the Training Facility had experienced leaks. Who was behind all this? Was someone targeting Umbrella?

William then remembered Annette, who had died on the express train. "Annette, you left at just the right time!"

Thanks to Eddie's appearance, the conflict between William and Annette was successfully ignited, and now the two no longer interacted much. William was only a little heartbroken, just a tiny bit. Afterwards, he could completely take the new G-Virus and, with the help of the military, gain protection and propose other conditions—he could pick any wife he wanted!
