Chapter 64 - 64

However, Brad, in his panic, directly piloted the helicopter and fled. He had just seen a large number of Zombie Dogs rushing over, and in his haste, he could only look out for himself. The lingering shadow of being entangled by strange plants and constantly having his blood drained in the sanatorium plagued his mind. In extreme fear, he actually abandoned his teammates and ran away!

"Hey! Brad, why are you running!" Joseph cursed, but it was no use; the helicopter had already flown far away.

Left with no choice, they continued their search. Soon, Barry made a discovery. "Wait, there's a signal left by Enrico here. He said it's at three o'clock, over there!"

Wesker was just thinking of an excuse to trick them into going there, but he didn't expect such a coincidence. "Then let's go and support Bravo Team!"

The group continued to explore and finally arrived in front of a strange, large Mansion.

Before Wesker and the others arrived, Rebecca had already woken up. She yawned and said apologetically, "Sorry, did I sleep too long?"

Svetlana shook her head. "No, it was only a few hours. After extreme fear and panic, people become tired. You'll be fine after enough rest."

"Thank you, Instructor. Oh, by the way, Instructor, where's Eddie?" Rebecca looked around but didn't see any sign of the man.

"He went to investigate this Mansion and see if there was any suitable food," Svetlana said, looking at the piano score. In her free time, she also enjoyed playing the piano, but opportunities were rare.

Just as she finished speaking, the room door opened. Eddie walked in with a large bag of food. "Good luck, I found some leftover food from the storeroom. It's still fresh, and I've tested it; there's no poison."

Rebecca sniffed. "Eddie, you're amazing."

"You haven't even tried the more amazing parts of me yet!" Eddie said with a mischievous grin.

"What parts?" Rebecca clearly didn't understand.

"Nothing, just in terms of combat. Come on, eat while it's hot. After we eat, we need to rendezvous." Eddie found an excuse to brush it off.

Svetlana, however, scoffed, but didn't expose the man's words. This guy really couldn't resist taking advantage for even a moment.

Eddie's cooking was decent, not as good as Aunt Wang's, but still quite good. In such special circumstances, having food to eat was already a blessing.

After Rebecca finished eating, Eddie went back to the storeroom, found fresh food, cooked it, and continued to eat with Svetlana. Their appetites were astonishing; this was a side effect of the diluted serum. Only by eating a lot could they unleash their powerful, superhuman strength.

Full and satisfied, the three organized their gear and began to move deeper into the Mansion. They could see some monsters that had been killed, which must have been done by Enrico and his team. So far, no familiar faces had fallen, meaning they were all still alive.

"I wonder how the captain and the others are doing." Rebecca was a little worried. After seeing Eddie leading the way, her heart was filled with a sense of security. She was, after all, going to join Eddie's research team and couldn't have a boyfriend or get married for fifteen years, so she had some strange feelings deep down.

Chapter 103: Svetlana's Queenly Aura

"We haven't seen any casualties yet, so they should be doing well. And have you forgotten? We're the rookies; they're all seasoned veterans, so they definitely won't be worse than us," Eddie said with a smile. This was a fact.

Eddie and Rebecca were, strictly speaking, greenhorns, while Svetlana was a battle-hardened veteran. Her combat power was extraordinary, and besides, Eddie and Rebecca's specialties weren't fighting monsters.

"You don't act like a rookie!" Rebecca teased, her beautiful eyes full of laughter. She was a little jealous of Jill; being Eddie's girlfriend, she must have a very happy life every day.

Svetlana curled a disdainful smile. Another foolish woman being deceived. With men's words, even a single punctuation mark needed to be carefully considered for its accuracy.

The three advanced slowly, gradually arriving at another hall. This appeared to be an activity center, with a typical European and American design, and the decorations of the second-floor corridor made it feel as if they had returned to a medieval castle.

Whoosh! At this moment, a strange sound came. Eddie immediately turned around but found nothing. "Be careful! It seems like something, I don't know if it's a spider or some other reptile."

Svetlana, however, looked at the ceiling. "It's a python!" She then immediately pulled out a grenade launcher, loaded with acid rounds!

Bang! The large python, which was moving between the decorations on the ceiling, trying to approach its prey, was directly hit by Svetlana's acid round.

"Hiss!" The large python, over ten meters long, fell directly from the ceiling, struggling and constantly twisting. The strong acid was corroding the python's scales; this intense pain was unbearable for any creature.

Whoosh! The large python directly smashed through a door and slithered away, devouring some zombies it encountered along the way to replenish its energy. Pythons that didn't eat carrion, under the influence of the virus, began to eat anything, but still prioritized live prey, as only live creatures were the most delicious.

"When did you load the acid rounds?" Eddie was a little scared. This woman actually carried such a dangerous weapon. If she had fired one at him earlier, even with the serum, he might not have survived!

Seemingly sensing Eddie's mood, Svetlana raised Eddie's chin with her delicate hand and said somewhat flirtatiously, "As long as you're not my enemy, I won't deal with you. When did I load it? Rookie, it seems you still need more combat experience."

Her queenly aura was fully displayed at this moment; even her words left Eddie and Rebecca momentarily speechless.

As expected of Eastern Slav Republic' only female ruler in history, her aura was not much weaker than Alex's, no wonder they became friends. Queens only make friends with queens, not with the weak.

"Cough, cough, no jokes, how could we be enemies? Let's go, the giant python hasn't been eliminated. To grow so large, it must be that experimental subject. We'll eliminate it if we get the chance. Its fangs will poison prey after biting them," Eddie changed the subject. He really hadn't expected Svetlana to be so bold; most people couldn't withstand a queen's aura.

"Eddie, how do you know?" Rebecca asked, puzzled.

"While you were resting, I went out to scout and found that this place was full of traps, and there were also some monsters I hadn't seen before. All the staff here have turned into zombies. I saw these documents on a computer; this has always been a secret laboratory!" Eddie explained.

This made Rebecca a little embarrassed. She really was very tired, otherwise, she wouldn't have fallen asleep.

"It's okay, when people are tired, they need rest. After this is over, you join my research team, and I'll tell you a secret that will definitely amaze you to the point of admiring me!" Eddie said with a mysterious smile.

"What secret! Alright, I'm really looking forward to it!" Rebecca's attention was diverted by Eddie's few words.

Only Svetlana rolled her eyes. Increased reproductive capacity, is that a secret? That's terrible, okay!

By the time Eddie and the others reached the part of the Mansion near the laboratory, Wesker's Alpha Team had just arrived. Due to the butterfly effect, Alpha Team had no casualties on their way to the Mansion this time and even acquired sufficient heavy firepower in advance to eliminate many bioweapons.

"Building such a large Mansion in these deep mountains and wild forests, Umbrella really has money," Joseph quipped.

"How could they not have money? That's a multinational corporation. Eddie is very rich, haha, I really wonder how that guy who still tells driving jokes is doing," Barry also quipped.

"No matter whose place this is, it's very strange. Everyone spread out and investigate. Since Enrico and his team came here, we must find them." Wesker finished speaking and walked into the Mansion.

Chris was only a few seconds behind. After pushing open the door, Wesker was already gone. "Strange, why did he run so fast?"

"I think it's better to team up. Didn't Eddie say? It's too dangerous to be alone in a place like this," Joseph suggested.

"Then I'll go with you," Chris said.

"Then I'll go check the other direction. Damn Brian, that bastard actually dared to fly away in the helicopter!" Barry cursed and left the group chat!

Alpha Team, already fewer in number due to Jill's absence, completely dispersed. After Chris and the others left, Barry received a call.

"Hello? Who is this?" Barry was confused as to why his family would call him.

The person who called was clearly Barry's wife, but the voice that spoke was Wesker's! "Barry, your family has been kidnapped by me. I know you care deeply for your family; you are a good father and a good husband."

"Wesker! Are you f***ing crazy?" Upon hearing that his family had been kidnapped, Barry immediately started swearing.

Wesker remained silent, apparently having anticipated the other party's emotional reaction. "It's simple to ensure your family's safety: just follow my instructions. Lead Chris and the others to the back of the Mansion, to the laboratory beneath the courtyard. You don't need to worry about anything else!"

"Bullshit!" Barry's sense of justice wouldn't allow him to do that.

"Oh? Is that so? I heard your daughter is still young. Are you so eager for them to die? Or are you looking for a new wife?" Wesker sneered, confident of victory, he wasn't worried.

Chapter 104: Searching for the Antidote with Svetlana

Barry was indeed a good husband and a good father. With his strong sense of justice, Barry had an excellent reputation in the S.T.A.R.S.. He always took care of other team members like an elder brother. His only weakness was his family!
