Chapter 86 - 86

Pfft! Alyssa suddenly burst out laughing, unable to hold it in. This man was as humorous and shameless as ever!

"What are you laughing at, Alyssa!" January was a little annoyed.

"Nothing, he's just like that, he never lets himself be taken advantage of. Eddie is a good person, but not a bad person, I can vouch for that. If you trust me, you can try co-renting with him," Alyssa nodded.

"Do you think a hacker who isn't sincere about helping you is really useful?" January asked coldly.

"Our goals are the same, and I have a grudge against Umbrella. These are all things from the previous generation. What I want to do is bring Umbrella down. It's not time yet, Umbrella is too powerful. We need to open a gap for them from within," Eddie said with cold eyes and a serious expression.

Chapter 140: Recruiting Members, All Beautiful Women

"You have a grudge against Umbrella? I don't see how!" January expressed doubt. Her computer skills were unquestionable, being able to hack into a multinational corporation like Umbrella.

Besides secretly researching bioweapons, Umbrella also conducted research in many other fields and achieved brilliant results. Computer technology, military supplies, and so on, were all areas they dabbled in.

Almost all the instruments used for biological research were produced by Umbrella itself, which allowed them to hide from most people, except for some partners.

"He is a descendant of Marcus, one of Umbrella's founders. Internal power struggles within Umbrella led to Marcus's death. Also, he started his own pharmaceutical company to make money, putting him in competition with Umbrella. He indeed has a grudge against Umbrella's people," Alyssa explained for Eddie.

If Eddie had said it himself, January and the others wouldn't have believed it, but coming from Alyssa, it was different. Alyssa had an excellent reputation; she would never bow to money and only pursued facts, which many people knew.

"In that case, I'll help you. But don't think that's all there is to it. I charge money. Once I take your money, I'll do things for you," January nodded. She was also not a woman who liked to do good deeds; if there were mutual benefits, cooperation was possible.

"Then welcome to the team. What about you, Becca?" Eddie turned to ask the golden-haired beauty sitting quietly on the other side.

"What else can I do? I choose to join you, but I don't have hacking skills," Becca frowned. This feeling of being forced to join was truly terrible.

"It's alright, I'll have a time for you to showcase your talents. I'll buy a few mountains, and they'll need to be planted with some medically useful plants. I'll need your help to take care of those medicinal herbs," Eddie said with a smile, his words revealing an aura of a wealthy patron.

"Really!" Becca's beautiful eyes lit up. If she could use her talents, she would work anywhere, because she loved nature!

"Of course it's real. To get revenge on Umbrella, we need a lot of preparation, and this process is bound to be time-consuming and labor-intensive, requiring sufficient funds," Eddie said with a solemn expression. This was a fact; Umbrella was a behemoth and would absolutely not fall quickly.

"I can't tell, you really are a man with ideas. Aren't you going to include me?" Alyssa suddenly smiled brightly. She was interested in Eddie; nothing this man did was a waste of time or effort.

"You're already with me, aren't you? Don't even think about getting off the boat; this cruise ship will solve getting off!" Eddie said proudly.

"You said it. With new members joining, aren't you going to open a bottle of red wine to celebrate?" Alyssa said with a smile.

"Of course, no problem! To welcome you all, I specially prepared a bottle of red wine!" Eddie pulled out a bottle of red wine he had taken, a high-grade good, worth millions of dollars per bottle!

"Wait, I've joined, but what about Cindy?" Becca suddenly asked. She somewhat wanted to pull Cindy into it. Working alone in an unfamiliar environment was indeed a bit daunting, but with a familiar friend accompanying her, it would be different.

Cindy was startled and asked somewhat confused, "Aren't I just a waitress at Jack's Bar? Is there a problem?"

Alyssa obviously heard her confusion and said with a smile, "Cindy, you already know our secret. If we don't drag you into it, can we feel at ease? Besides, haven't you also studied medicine? Joining us wouldn't be bad, what do you think?"

Cindy's hallmark was her sweet smile, a smile that made people feel like they were bathed in spring breeze, always able to dispel most fatigue. Coupled with her beauty and sweet voice, everyone liked such a beauty.

"That's right, Cindy joining wouldn't be bad either. I also need medical talent. Now we're all being targeted by Umbrella. To survive, we must stick together and help each other. My wish is simple: I just want to live well, earn some money to enjoy life, and spend the rest of my life with the woman I love. That's enough," Eddie said with a sincere smile, possessing a mysterious charm.

"Why do I feel like you're all strange?" Cindy was a bit confused and didn't know what to do.

"Umbrella controls the entire Raccoon City, and beyond that, it cooperates with the Federation, so we are not currently suitable to confront it. What we need to do is lie low, continue our lives, and develop ourselves without being noticed by Umbrella. Cindy, you are often with Alyssa, so you will also be noticed," Eddie explained.

"Will I also be targeted?" Cindy was somewhat unsure.

"It's very possible. I'm sorry, Cindy, I dragged you into this," Alyssa said apologetically. She really hadn't thought of this layer. Constantly opposing Umbrella was only because she hadn't hit a sore spot; the previous nursing home incident made that very clear.

Cindy shook her head, "It's okay. Since Eddie said so, I'll join. Besides, I owe Eddie a favor. Please take care of me from now on!"

"No problem, no problem. Here's the plan. Cindy, you'll work normally. Later, I'll give you a dedicated phone and Bluetooth headset for contacting me. January, you'll work with one of my programmers to develop a supercomputer for processing massive data calculations," Eddie began to give orders.

"What about me?" Alyssa asked with some anticipation.

"You'll temporarily continue doing what you were doing before, and you can look for small problems with Umbrella, such as inadequate industrial pollution treatment, and so on. Isn't it easy to find fault? Find some minor issues, maintain your style, you were like that before, and I will protect your safety," Eddie continued to instruct.

"Then I'll just move in. What do you think? Otherwise, it's too dangerous," Alyssa suggested.

"There don't seem to be enough rooms!" Eddie had a bit of a headache. This was the trouble of not having a base; housing people was a problem.

"Just rent out the entire floor. Anyway, you're not short on money, didn't you just earn ten million?" January began to offer advice. She thought this wasn't a bad thing either; at least, working with a wealthy patron was a pretty good thing, no need to jump from one employer to another.

Chapter 141: Thanatos Tyrant's Countdown

Suzuki Yoko's large truck was parked in a warehouse near the outskirts. The truck had been modified to defend against most bioweapon attacks and also had a generator to keep equipment running. As a temporary residence, everything here was relatively simple.

"Eddie, you're here!" Suzuki Yoko smiled sweetly when she saw Eddie, though she found it a bit strange why two incredibly tall women followed him, one voluptuous, the other young and robust, with a somewhat fitness-girl vibe.

"This is my partner, Suzuki Yoko. These are our new companions, January, she's a top hacker. I hope you all get along well!" Eddie introduced them.

The warehouse was located on a road leading to the outside world, not near the Arklay Mountains. It was a very, very long distance from the Arklay Mountains, making it absolutely safe at this time.

"Hello, I'm Suzuki Yoko, please guide me in the future," Suzuki Yoko greeted with a smile. She was very simple, only wanting to work quietly and not caring about anything else. Society was too complicated, and she wanted to be a bit simpler.

"Hello, I'm January, please guide me in the future. Is this where we'll be working? It looks good, better than I imagined," January got into the truck to inspect it. Although it was a bit rudimentary, it had everything needed and was convenient for work. She also noticed that there were assault rifles and some combat gear in the compartment.

Seemingly noticing January's gaze, Eddie explained, "These are for self-defense. You'll also need to learn firearms skills when you have time; you'll use them in the future. Our team is still in its growth phase, with a lot of room for development and many enemies to face. If you encounter someone with ill intentions, just shoot him dead."

"Hmph, I'd like to shoot you dead, you bastard!" January recalled the previous events and felt a bit annoyed. She could vent her emotions, but she wouldn't actually do it; she wasn't that foolish.

"Haha, you won't be able to bear killing me in the future, I guarantee it. Otherwise, who will support you? Don't bully Yoko, she's quite innocent. Alright, if you have any questions, you can contact me anytime. I'll develop a relevant vaccine antidote for you. I said you wouldn't die, and you won't," Eddie said with a smile, waving his hand as he left.

"Hurry up and leave, hmph!" January turned her head back to work, huffing.

"Are you Eddie's girlfriend?" Suzuki Yoko asked curiously.

"No, not really, what about you!" January gave a very strange answer.

"Not really either, but I'm with him. He's a good person and has a very noble ideal. Once you get to know him, you'll also enjoy fighting for that ideal with him," Suzuki Yoko didn't give a reason, but smiled and turned to work.

With Jessica and Lisa, two absolutely loyal bodyguards, Eddie was not careless. He clearly remembered that Professor Muller from Raccoon City University Town was the same; the Thanatos Tyrant he created was too powerful, almost able to crush the currently most mature scattered Tyrant models.

Because the Thanatos Tyrant was a Tyrant optimized for killing and created using a specially optimized process by Dr. Mueller, who did not like the mass-produced Tyrants Umbrella was doing.

Therefore, even without specialized protective clothing, the Thanatos Tyrant could withstand assault rifle damage. It was one of the top-tier Tyrant series, already very impressive, an existence that would even pique Spencer's interest.

A single Thanatos Tyrant could deal with well-trained mercenaries; even a sniper rifle couldn't harm him. Even if a piece of flesh was shot off, it could be rapidly repaired, making it a perfect weapon.

Professor Muller's fate was that due to the Thanatos Tyrant's power, he became unprecedentedly arrogant, and as a result, Umbrella's dispatched mercenary captain, Nikolai, shot him in the head.

Facts proved that powerful bodyguards were indeed very effective, but if the protected target was too foolish and weak, it would be ineffective. If someone was shot in the head from a long distance, bodyguards couldn't save them. It's best not to be too complacent!

Echo Six Team scouts Sienna and Caroline disguised themselves as students and arrived in University Town. After checking signals, the two came to the laboratory under the Biology Building.

The laboratory was somewhat gloomy, converted from a university department. Discarded medicine bottles were scattered around, and in some places, there were even traces of a struggle.
