Chapter 138 - 138

"So after the vaccine eliminated most of the G-Virus, a small portion of it must have remained for us to integrate, leading to a second reinforcement. This situation is special and few can replicate it, which is our advantage. It's also our second step towards immortality, isn't that a good thing?" Eddie said with a proud smile.

"Are there no side effects?" Ada took a sip of her coffee.

"We don't know about side effects yet; further observation is needed. There might be a tendency towards rage, which requires control and restraint." Eddie couldn't give a precise answer; this entire process was completely uncharted territory, with no precedents to draw upon.

"Restraint? Heh heh, you certainly need to restrain yourself; your willpower is truly pathetic." Svetlana scoffed unceremoniously. If she hadn't remembered that he had saved her, she probably would have kicked him to death with a high heel.

His words were somewhat baffling. Why was she always talking about him? Eddie didn't know what was going on and couldn't recall. Perhaps during the integration process, he had thrashed around like a monster?

"Alright, what's our next step?" Svetlana picked up a bottle of alcohol. She really wanted to get drunk, but it was impossible now.

"I need to catch up on the latest news. Ada, please help me gather these things; they're in here. I'll check the information first." Eddie shook his head. It was already broad daylight; it seemed he needed to find an opportunity to go out.

VECTOR and the others, who had infiltrated from the Arklay Mountains, also arrived in front of the cinema, moving through the abandoned city. Their first task was to secure the helicopter, and after confirming it was undamaged, they would rendezvous with the others to leave.

Chapter 231: A Dirty Deal with Sister Wong

The laboratory door opened, and the wandering Zombies and some mutated infected monsters seemed to smell food and began moving towards it.

Eddie immediately delivered a spinning kick, sending a four-limbed, crawling brain-eater, mutated from a flea, flying. It crashed into a pile of Zombies, its internal organs rupturing, killing it.

After being reinforced again, Eddie could feel his strength had greatly increased, and he seemed even lighter.

Ada was in a good mood. Although she had lost something, she had obtained the G-Virus sample her mission required. What she lost was merely taken by Eddie; they were all on the same side, so there was no need to dwell on it.

Lickers, Raging Zombies, common Zombies—none could withstand a single move from Eddie. He moved like the wind through the piles of Zombies.

Often, with a Zombie's pounce, Eddie had already teleported to the other side, evading the Zombie's attack, and twisted the neck of another Zombie before it could react.

He almost brutally swept through everything, encountering no worthy opponents. The phrase, 'How lonely is invincibility,' truly applied now.

In another laboratory, Sienna noticed movement outside. She saw the man who greatly interested her harvesting the lives of Zombies. "That Eddie has appeared and is heading towards the ground passage. If we go out now, we can meet him by passing through the restaurant and the main corridor. We need to be fast!"

The resting team began to pick up their gear and set off. Only if they survived would their mission have meaning. Without the vaccine, their lives had already entered a countdown.

They knocked down Zombies along the way, hurrying. As they passed through the passage Eddie and his group had left, everyone fell silent. These Zombies and monsters had all been killed by physical attacks, with no firearms used.

To physically beat so many Zombies and monsters to death, how much stamina and strength would that require?

As Eddie was about to leave, members of the Echo Six Team caught up.

"Hey, handsome, remember me? I'm Sienna. What a coincidence, what fate! Don't be nervous, I mean no harm." Sienna placed her hands on her shoulders, making a non-threatening gesture.

Eddie's expression was a little playful. "Oh, it's you. Is there something I can help you with, Special Forces Miss?"

"Ahem, I'm from the Marine Corps, and these are my teammates. We heard you can make vaccines, and we'd like you to help us create some. We might be infected." Sienna's expression was very serious.

"Were you bitten?" Eddie scrutinized the group.

"No, we just drank mineral water contaminated with the virus. I'm Jettingham, the captain of Echo Team. If you're willing to help us, we would be very grateful." Captain Jettingham stepped forward to explain.

"You don't want to turn into Zombies? Alright, I can help you, but you must pretend you never saw me, and don't tell your superiors you met me. It's that simple, can you do it?" Ada made a request.

"That's simple; our mission doesn't conflict with yours. I guarantee, on a warrior's honor, that we will not reveal any information about you." Jettingham's expression was serious; this was a matter of life and death.

"I can also guarantee you that my subordinates will absolutely not betray your information. Whoever betrays it, I will kill them!" Hunk also guaranteed in a cold voice.

"Oh? Hunk, the Grim Reaper?" Eddie became a little interested.

"Mere false reputation. Your team is very strong, stronger than me. They are the Grim Reapers." Hunk didn't care.

It took Eddie half an hour to make the vaccine and give everyone an injection.

"Alright, you no longer need to worry about turning into Zombies, but don't ever think that means everything is fine. If you are severely injured, there is still a risk of infection. May we meet again by chance, though it's best if we don't." Eddie waved his hand, giving Caroline a subtle look.

Leaving Spencer Memorial Hospital again, it was now ten in the morning, a beautiful clear day.

"Come with me; I'll get you out of Raccoon City. I have a helicopter." Eddie said to Ada.

"Why not take a ride when I can? Are you still staying in Raccoon City?" Ada asked.

Due to Eddie's intervention, Ada's fate would no longer lead her to encounter Leon, who would have held great significance for her. Leon's place had been taken by Eddie.

"There are still some things I need to deal with here. Once I'm done, I'll leave immediately. What, are you concerned about me or reluctant to see me go?" Eddie teased.

"You're thinking too much. I just don't want a partner to die like this; my initial investment would be a huge loss." Ada scoffed. She wouldn't show her true feelings, at least not yet.

"Whatever you say. Let's go, get in the car. We'll go find Claire, then take the plane to leave." Eddie found a car, roughly tore off the dashboard panel, and started it using a special method.

The roar of the SUV didn't attract any Zombies. Along the way, there were only abandoned vehicles on the road and some potholes. These were craters blasted during police operations. They simply drove over them.

"These Zombies don't appear during the day because they're afraid of sunlight?" Ada mumbled.

"No, it's just that they haven't adapted yet. It will take about two days, and then you'll see Zombies everywhere. It's biological instinct; even a virus has a most basic consciousness." Eddie explained. All of this could be found in Umbrella's archives.

Meanwhile, in Spencer Memorial Hospital, the Echo Six Team and Hunk's team cooperated, each finding what they needed to report back.

The Echo Six Team needed to repair the Thanatos Tyrant, while Hunk's team needed to repair the damaged Nemesis, and their mission was changed to finding and defeating William, who had mutated into a monster, and recovering biological samples.

"This is the Echo Six Team. We've already injected the Thanatos Tyrant with the restorative fluid." Jettingham reported via radio.

"Excellent. You are now to temporarily retreat and search for Umbrella's experimental evidence in the underground laboratory." New instructions came from Command.

Chapter 232: Claire's Curiosity is Dangerous

Most of the Zombies and monsters in the underground laboratory had been bludgeoned to death by Eddie and his group. The new recruits, Eddie and the others, were simply adapting to their strength, and the best way to do that was to fight!

Near the apartment, when Wolf Mother Karena and her team arrived, they found the helicopter was damaged, its rotor blades crushed by the collapsed warehouse. Using the helicopter was no longer an option for escape; they would have to find another way.

"How unlucky!" Wolf Mother didn't complain much; she had several backup plans.

"Eddie, this is Karena. The helicopter is damaged and can't be repaired. We need to evacuate Raccoon City from another location. Where should we meet?" Wolf Mother contacted him using encrypted radio.

"You're near the apartment? I'll be there soon." Eddie said, then turned the car around and drove towards the warehouse.

In the warehouse, Eddie saw that the helicopter he had conned from Warren was damaged. Beside it were the three members of Wolf Team, on alert.

Wolf Mother Karena was still as tall and slender. "You look a bit stronger."

"I'm alright. There was an accident, but it was a good thing. Let's go, find a car. We're going to the Grand Cinema to pick someone up, then leave from the north." Eddie turned his head. He knew things wouldn't go so smoothly.

Two cars, one after the other, arrived at the cinema.

Claire, Emma, and Moira were hiding in the cinema's staff lounge. During this time, Claire felt like everyone she met was strange. The seemingly slender Moira and Emma could easily deal with Zombies, and even when encountering mutated Lickers, they handled them with ease.

This was incredibly unbelievable. How could two eighteen-year-old girls be so fierce?

"Have you studied martial arts?" Claire and the two girls waited in the lounge.
