Chapter 140 - 140

Chapter 234: Terror Resurfaces, Escape Planning

Eddie clenched his fists. The fusion of the two viruses seemed to show no signs of feminization. Could this be related to the host's consciousness?

He remembered Wesker once saying that the host's consciousness could influence the virus. William injected himself with the G-Virus, seeking revenge, wishing he could punch those special forces members who came to steal his sample to death. As a result, his right arm became incredibly huge, truly capable of knocking those people out with a single blow.

And Sergei liked to self-harm in his spare time; the influence of his consciousness led to his mutation into a Thanatos Tyrant. If someone wanted to feminize, they could also turn into a woman. The virus was that miraculous, not even requiring surgery.

"What's wrong? Feeling unwell?" Ada tilted her head, looking quite adorable.

"Nothing, just full of vigor. I'm thinking about what to do after we go back." Eddie shook his head and walked up to the lounge on the second floor.

Soon, he met up with Claire and the other two. They found some intact food in a nearby restaurant to replenish their energy.

"What now, Eddie? It seems to be getting more and more dangerous around here. I've noticed the proportion of Raging Zombies is increasing," Moira asked boldly.

Eddie looked at the zombies in the outer hall. Many of them had crimson skin, which proved that the virus had indeed mutated, leading to a large number of zombies becoming more violent.

"Let's leave here. The helicopter is unusable, but we can still leave by land. To leave here, we can only go north; there are many roads in the north," Eddie analyzed.

"There are also roads leading out of Raccoon City in the south, right?" Moira was also very familiar with Raccoon City's geography.

"Yes, there are, but those small paths are all desolate mountains, previously used as burial grounds, so there will definitely be zombies there. And there are a large number of earthworms there; no one can guarantee that those earthworms won't mutate. Not many people have walked those paths, so the danger level is very high," Wolf Mother stepped forward to explain.

As one of their own, Wolf Mother received the latest information and knew very well what was suitable and what wasn't, with no need to take risks.

"Alright, once we've eaten and drunk our fill, we'll set off. First, we'll go to the northern defense line, and then leave via the planned route." Eddie finished speaking and stood up. The necessary tasks were done; it was time to leave.

After leaving, he wouldn't need to worry about Umbrella coming after him. As long as the timing was right, he could throw some of Umbrella's experimental evidence to the International Court, and Umbrella would be too preoccupied to bother Eddie.

In a laboratory somewhere in University Town, Hunk's team had already retrieved the restorative fluid and injected Nemesis.

The revived Nemesis returned to its original form, and its tattered restraint suit still allowed Nemesis to maintain a humanoid shape. A Nemesis that could use heavy weapons was a Nemesis; a Nemesis that couldn't use weapons was just something slightly stronger than a Tyrant.

"Command, this is Hunk. We have injected Nemesis with the restorative fluid and completed the mission," Hunk communicated via radio.

"We are restarting Nemesis here, so please move back a bit," a cold voice came from Umbrella's Command.

The previously closed single eye suddenly opened, and Nemesis reawakened. At this moment, a helicopter flew in, carrying a large box. The box was dropped after reaching its designated location.

The box also had a combination lock, which was unlocked via remote control. The box opened, revealing a reinforced Gatling machine gun and an ammo box.

The ammo box contained fifty thousand rounds of ammunition, weighing nearly a ton.

Nemesis slung the ammo box over its back, picked up the Gatling machine gun, which had an ammo counter display. Its single eye analyzed data from everything it looked at, combined with its instinctual actions.

A large group of zombies and terrifying zombies followed, having heard the loud noise and following their predatory instincts, wanting to see if there was anything to eat here.

Umbrella's backend staff were changing Nemesis's orders, from pursuing S.T.A.R.S. members to heading to the Waste Disposal Plant to assist Sergei in ambushing the Federal Guard.

"Hunk, you've done well, proving your value to the company. Now you need to go to Memorial Hospital and General Hospital to activate the self-destruct program in the underground laboratories. After you complete this mission, there will be another mission instruction," the staff member relayed the message.

"Received," Hunk responded coldly.

The mission was still as dangerous, and Hunk was getting a bit tired of it.

"Boss, do we still need to continue?" Lone Wolf, his assistant, asked, seemingly hinting at a desire to defect, no longer wanting to work for Umbrella.

"We must complete it. When we return this time, we need to collect evidence of Umbrella's crimes, for a rainy day. Don't forget, Umbrella hasn't fallen yet. I allow you to play both sides, but you must read the situation," Hunk said coldly.

"I understand, Boss. Whatever you do, I'll do. If you're planning to switch sides, please take me with you," the special forces member codenamed Ghost said in a muffled voice.

Meanwhile, in another civilian house, Echo Six Team also injected Thanatos Tyrant with a restorative fluid, which was a tonic for the Tyrant, but a deadly poison for humans.

"Excellent, you've done very well. I can feel my artwork reviving." Dr. Mueller's eyes began to light up with excitement.

General Morgan walked into the private room and turned off the communication device. "Doctor, we need to talk."

"Oh? What's there to talk about? You want my darling?" Dr. Mueller sneered.

"No, I heard from Kaplan that you also know about another T-Virus vaccine. I need the formula for that vaccine." General Morgan felt he would be replaced, and he had to find more things to prove his worth.

"You're talking about the Sunlight Vaccine, aren't you? That stuff is with one of my university professors, Pete. If you want to get it, why don't you go find him, if he's still alive?" Dr. Mueller's smile was cruel, showing no regard for Pete, who was his good friend. Was he just using him and then discarding him?

Chapter 235: Women Cannot Be Too Fierce

"Important? You call that important? You're coveting my exclusive invention, Thanatos Tyrant! You're despicable!" Dr. Mueller was not a good-tempered man either.

"Please watch your tone!" A hint of displeasure flashed in General Morgan's eyes.

"University Town, Professor of Biology, Pete. I originally entrusted him with creating a vaccine just in case. That vaccine would quickly kill the T-Virus. People with mild infections wouldn't have big problems using it, but for moderate infections, it might cause paralysis. As for severe infections, haha, that would directly lead to death."

"You want to reclaim your rights? I'm not interested in the dirty dealings between you. If you want it, go get it yourself. That's all I can do. Good luck," Dr. Mueller sneered.

After confirming that his subordinates had sealed off the area, General Morgan said solemnly, "Dr. Mueller, we are all in this together. Don't try to switch sides to Simmons. He already has a genius researcher, much smarter and younger than you. Your pride will become worthless in front of her."

"So you're threatening me?" Dr. Mueller snorted. He didn't like being underestimated.

"If you want to stick to your idea of perfect artwork not being mass-produced, then you can only side with us, rely on me and Kaplan. Only we can help you. Now we need a small token of loyalty. You control your Thanatos Tyrant to go to the Waste Disposal Plant, as an ambush, to kill all the retreating Guard, leaving no one alive!" A fierce glint flashed in General Morgan's eyes.

"You really are merciful, a general wanting to kill his own soldiers," Dr. Mueller snorted. He wasn't a fool; this would completely cut off his retreat, forcing him to cooperate with the other party.

"Those people are all loyalists of the Simmons Family, and have nothing to do with me. Look at this conversation record, then you can make your decision with me." General Morgan handed over a disk.

Dr. Mueller opened the disk with a puzzled expression. It contained a conversation between Simmons and a very young and beautiful female researcher.

"So-called Tyrants are indeed practical weapons, but the virus still has room for improvement. Only by creating an agent that enhances human physical quality can it be a miracle in the medical world. When intelligent humans can rival Tyrants, all biological weapons are just a pile of scrap metal," Carla scoffed.

"My agents have already found G-Virus samples; you can start your research. As long as you can achieve results first and suppress Dr. Mueller over there, I will secure more resources for you." Simmons's tone was very calm, as if this had nothing to do with his own interests.

"Of course, I am the smartest. That Mueller, humph, just a pretentious piece of garbage." Carla snorted proudly.

This video was investigated by General Morgan's most trusted agent, Rachel. Rachel, enhanced by the T-Virus, found these tasks effortless.

After watching the video, Dr. Mueller trembled with anger. A mere child dared to disrespect him, an authority in biology and virology. Could this be tolerated? Intellectuals had even bigger tempers, and no one would admit to being inferior to others.

"Now you know why I said that. If they succeed, we will have nothing. If we succeed, they will be defeated. Doctor, at this time, we need to work together. We are our own people." General Morgan began to brainwash him.

"Alright, I will cooperate with you, but I need your help. It's impossible not to be discovered. If any news leaks, you need to send someone to kill that lucky person." Dr. Mueller's voice was incredibly cold.

Disregarding human lives? In the face of profit, human lives were utterly worthless.

As the sun set, the zombies began to roam again. During the day, many survivors had their defensive shelters breached by zombies, and were eaten alive, becoming one of them.

The streets were no longer passable by car, with large numbers of vehicles blocking the middle of the road. In the Federation, cheap haircuts—ahem, cheap cars were ubiquitous; almost everyone could own their own car, which led to a proliferation of vehicles.

"It seems we'll have to walk. The streets along this route are all blocked by debris." Eddie got out of the car. January had already hacked into Raccoon City's surveillance system, and from the intact cameras, they could see that the roads were no longer passable by vehicles.

Inside the abandoned vehicles, there were also zombies trapped, constantly banging on the windows.
