Chapter 146 - 146

"Someone is targeting us? Helicopters are shot down as soon as they appear. In this situation, we can only leave by road," Eddie analyzed.

At this moment, Kevin and Leon returned, bringing back two survivors: a plumber with a side-parted hairstyle and a timid-looking employee who seemed a bit sleazy and cowardly. Eddie found him somewhat displeasing.

"I'm back. The northern subway has been cut off. There seems to have been an explosion underground, damaging the railway, but the surface is still passable. I found two survivors: this is David, and this guy is Jim, an employee of the subway company."

Just then, a captain from a surviving Federal Army squad walked over and said, "Chief Marvin, have your men get ready. We're moving out tonight, heading north. There will be a Guard waiting to meet us there."

"Alright, about when? So I can have them prepare," Marvin asked.

"In about an hour. Also, for the survivors, we can only tell them via broadcast to escape north. Taking a helicopter might get them shot down by thugs." No sooner had the captain finished speaking than an explosion echoed from the distant sky—another civilian helicopter had been shot down.

The prophecy came true so quickly. Who knows which unlucky soul it was.

Emma whispered to Moira, "You didn't ask your dad to pick you up, did you? It's very dangerous to fly a helicopter now."

Moira rolled her eyes, "He's drinking with Uncle Kendo. I already told him, and he's not worried. He said he doesn't need to look after me anymore and asked when I'd bring back a grandchild."

"Pfft, your dad is really humorous," Emma chuckled softly. "Moira, while we have this time, let's gather some parts, modify our firearms, and replenish our ammunition. This journey ahead will definitely be difficult."

Eddie told the women to rest and eat something to replenish their strength, but he pulled Wolf Mom Luper aside to discuss something. The two even climbed over the barbed wire, seemingly to discuss something so secretive.

Svetlana didn't follow them, just smiled a half-smile, as if she already knew what they were going to do—deal with the side effects, no doubt.

Meanwhile, in the underground laboratory of the General Hospital, the Echo Six Team was escorting two Umbrella employees who carried crucial research data. In front of them, a Tyrant, similar in model to the T-03 Tyrant, was continuously beating zombies.

With one punch from the Tyrant, even a Hunter would have its head smashed. The Tyrant's actions were undoubtedly controlled, providing protection for the group!

The white researcher, named Kate, had a disc controller with a chip that could control the Tyrant, complementing the chip in the Tyrant's head.

This Tyrant was also an upgraded version of the T-03 Tyrant, possessing stronger execution and control capabilities.

The other Umbrella researcher was a woman named Linda, who had another Umbrella-developed T-Virus vaccine, complete with samples and data.

Without finding Doctor George, the Echo Six Team unexpectedly encountered these two and semi-coercively escorted them away.

Given the current situation, both chose to side with the military. Since the military was involved, the only way to avoid being purged was to join them and become one of their own, thus greatly reducing the possibility of being purged and minimizing risk.

"This is Command. You need to proceed to the Waste Disposal Plant and leave via the Highway. There are Umbrella snipers in the city specifically targeting helicopters. Acknowledge!" Static suddenly crackled through the earpiece.

Chapter 244: Ada's Mysterious Past

"The evacuation point is now abandoned. We need to find vehicles and go to the Waste Disposal Plant in the north," Jettingham told everyone.

"What the hell? Why aren't we leaving by plane?" The white researcher, Kate, was very annoyed. He wanted to escape quickly, which was why he sided with the military. How much longer would they have to stay in this cursed place?

"You're the captain, we'll follow your lead." Linda, didn't complain. She was originally heading to the docks, but encountered the Federal Army midway, so there was nothing she could do but change plans.

"I'll go find a drivable vehicle." Sienna dragged a body out of a car and began to start the engine with the key.

On the other side, Hunk's team had already initiated the self-destruct sequence for the Memorial Hospital and the General Hospital. Fortunately, most of the zombies and monsters had been cleared, and their mission was completed very smoothly.

"This is Alpha Team, I'm Hunk. We have completed the facility's self-destruct sequence. Requesting extraction now," Hunk radioed.

"Received, Alpha Team. You have other missions. Proceed to the Waste Disposal Plant in the north now to assist Commander Sergei in dealing with the Federal Guard. Given your excellent execution, Command has decided to airdrop some resources to you. Please be prepared to receive them," the staff member's voice came through the earpiece.

"Received!" Hunk responded in an unperturbed tone.

"Boss, can we evacuate now?" His assistant, Lone Wolf, asked.

"Not yet. Headquarters wants us to go to the northern Waste Disposal Plant to assist Commander Sergei in dealing with the Federal Guard. There will be an airdrop for us soon." Hunk's tone was calm. Whether it was anger or ecstasy, he would always approach problems with the calmest mindset.

"Boss, do you think we can leave Raccoon City alive?" The member, Ghost, asked. Due to Eddie's butterfly effect, he hadn't become a tool for Sister Wang, and he wasn't feeling well at the moment. (Resident Evil 2 Remake DLC, The Forgotten Soldier.)

"Of course, we can. I will lead you out of this cursed place. I am the Grim Reaper!" Hunk suddenly felt a surge of confidence.

The sound of a helicopter came from the sky, and a large box was dropped, smashing through the glass and landing in the hall.

The three opened the box, which contained new tactical vests, grenades, and assault rifles. These guns had greater power than submachine guns, but also greater recoil, making them difficult to master.

"Do you see the device in the box? That's a zombie jammer. It can, to some extent, stop zombies from attacking you. It only lasts for an hour. If you don't make it within an hour, you're on your own." The staff member's reminder came through the earpiece.

"This is good stuff. We need to leave quickly. This jammer will prevent zombies from attacking us. I don't know if it will work, but we all need to be careful and cautious. Lone Wolf, go find a car. We're leaving now," Hunk instructed.

Everyone was rushing to one place: the Waste Disposal Plant in the north, near the Highway leading out of Raccoon City.

It seemed the final decisive battle was imminent. Just then, the substation near the Raccoon City branch office was destroyed. The entire southern area lost power, plunging into darkness.

Survivors still hiding in the south would face even greater hardship. They either waited for death or escaped quickly during the day. Once the time came, and nuclear peace arrived, there would be no more running.

Sergei was still arranging for people to set traps and ambush with some bioweapons at the Waste Disposal Plant when he received a call from a squad leader. "What is it?"

"Commander, we discovered an anomaly. Our original mission was to destroy the substation, but we encountered a very strange Tyrant. We have already sent pictures to headquarters for analysis," the squad leader reported.

"A strange Tyrant? Hmm, wait a moment, I have another call." Sergei pressed the answer button. "What is it?"

"Commander, according to information from the Chala squad, this is a mutated Tyrant. A Tyrant host in cultivation was forcibly parasitized by an Alpha Parasite. The parasite used in the Nemesis Project is the Beta Parasite," the researcher said.

"Didn't you say it was the Alpha Parasite?" Sergei snorted.

"The Beta Parasite is an upgraded version of the Alpha," the researcher explained neither subserviently nor arrogantly.

"Understood. You continue to research the Talos Project." Sergei snorted, hung up the phone, then reconnected with the Chala squad. "Keep an eye on that Tyrant. If conditions permit, attempt to capture it. Otherwise, lure it to the Waste Disposal Plant."

"Received!" The squad leader said before hanging up.

Soon, almost an hour passed. Eddie returned to the Clock Tower, humming a tune and carrying Wolf Mother on his back, looking smug and a bit punchable.

Wolf Mother, on the other hand, was radiant, though a bit tired, needing some time to rest before recovering.

David, the plumber, was quietly repairing a tank. He said he might be able to fix it and wanted to give it a try.

Eddie walked over to the tank being repaired. "Are you David?"

"Yes, is there something? If not, please leave and don't disturb my work." David was already inspecting the underside of the tank.

"Who do you work for? Tricell or Shenya Pharmaceutical?" Eddie pulled out a cigarette and tossed it over. "It's nothing, no one here will hear. I just want to confirm if you're an enemy," Eddie said, lighting his cigarette.

"I don't work for Umbrella, and you're not aligned with Umbrella. That's enough," David said indifferently.

This itself was abnormal; a plumber who could fix a tank? That was quite outlandish. No one would believe there wasn't something fishy going on.

"Are you affiliated with an organization, or do you work alone? If there's an opportunity, we can cooperate," Eddie didn't mind. Having an extra backup plan was like buying insurance.

"You already have Ada's help; you don't need mine. Help me pass that part over, please. Thanks," David said coldly.

"You know Ada?" Eddie handed over a replacement part.
