"What are you doing? Who are you? You're not allowed to move around here. Go back to your dorms immediately." A dark skinned security guard uncle walked over, holding a taser stick and an old revolver. This type of firearm only had a range of ten meters, which was ridiculous, but it could still be used to scare people.
"The Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission is on duty. Continue your patrol. This is our target. Don't let students out; keep them in their dorms. Vaccines are being produced continuously, and after vaccination, you will all be very safe and it's free." Rachel showed her identification and left without looking back.
The dark skinned security guard uncle was a bit bewildered. The ID was real. After the group left, he muttered, "Hmph, easy for them to say. Who knows if they're off to a group activity? One man? He's not afraid of dying from exhaustion." He then continued his patrol.
"It seems very quiet here; something isn't quite right." Eddie frowned. There was no reason for it to be so quiet.
Rachel walked while observing with binoculars. After seeing the dorms, she could still see bloodstains on the glass windows. "They must be locked in their dorms. This cleanup will be very difficult."
She was very experienced. Rachel knew that fighting biochemical weapons was difficult, and what was even more difficult than the fight was the cleanup afterward. Sometimes, in dark corners, logistical personnel might be attacked by Crimson Head Zombies and die during the cleanup.
"Then let's hurry up. If it's really not working, we can just blow up the building. That would solve everything and save trouble!" Eddie shrugged. He didn't care unless there was a benefit!
Chapter 375: Jessica's Queen Moment
Eddie, with the idea that less trouble is better, was about to slip away, but Jessica quietly pulled him aside and said, "In that direction, there's a small squad of armed soldiers coming. There are twelve of them in total."
This was unusual. It was just a University Town; was it necessary to send so many armed soldiers? It was as if the president was here. That was Ivy League, not Kunka Tela City.
Eddie suddenly stopped the two sisters ahead. "Rachel, have you received any news that the Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission sent anyone else?"
This was definitely not Rachel's squad. Rachel's squad only had eight people; originally nine, one died. Jessica said there were twelve people, so this group was definitely up to no good.
Rachel stopped. "I haven't received any news yet. Is something wrong?"
"Fun is coming. It seems someone is asking for help over there. I'll go assist. You take them to meet up with your squad first. Once you find them, leave here as quickly as possible and go outside; there will be military support," Eddie instructed.
"I don't need you to tell me how to do my job. Just take care of yourself." Rachel snorted, a flicker of worry and a touch of emotion in her beautiful eyes. He must have something that required distracting those bad guys, not wanting to implicate her.
Once this matter was over, Rachel decided to find time to have a child for Eddie, fulfilling her responsibilities and duties as a wife.
The two split up. Eddie took Jessica and Lisa into the industrial university's dorm building; this was the male dorm.
Walking in, below the top floor was a caretaker's residence. At this time, there was already a lot of blood inside, indicating the caretaker was in grave danger.
As expected, upon approaching, he saw an old woman Crimson Head Zombie snarling behind the door, trying to claw at fresh flesh through it.
Eddie fired without thinking, blowing off the caretaker Crimson Head Zombie's head with a single shot. The gunshot echoed through the silent campus, and after hearing it, the private armed force quickly rushed over.
Eddie hid by a third-floor window, looking down, and took a photo to send back. "Check this out, which unit is this?"
Ada was in the computer room and, upon seeing the private armed force, responded, "Eddie, that's Simmons' private armed force. You need to be careful; they specialize in dirty work."
"So their target is very likely me, then?" Eddie's expression was a bit strange.
"If there are no surprises, it should be. Who told you to snatch his most admired goddess!" Ada smiled radiantly, her tone carrying a sense of superiority. Her beauty was indeed striking and unforgettable, embodying the classical charm of an Eastern woman to perfection.
Upon hearing this, he felt very proud. The goddess everyone dreamed of had become his wife and was carrying his child, fiercely loyal to him. Couldn't this make his vanity explode?
"Since Simmons sent them, I'll have to give them a good welcome." Eddie's smile was cruel. He wouldn't show mercy to enemies; who knew how many lives those guys had on their hands? One look and you knew they weren't good people.
Buckle was the squad leader this time. His orders were to monitor Eddie Cai's movements, record any unusual situations, and transmit them back, and, in necessary extreme circumstances, eliminate him.
"Over there, the dorm building, advance." Buckle led his squad members towards the dorm building after hearing the gunshot.
They found a dead Crimson Head Zombie on the first floor, which made Buckle feel a little uneasy, but he still led them into the dorm building. What was so strange about a few Crimson Head Zombies?
"Captain, there are footsteps on the third floor." A scout said.
The group accurately arrived on the third floor. This was a very long corridor, extending a full hundred and fifty meters to its end, with dorms of various sizes distributed throughout.
Buckle led his squad members forward step by step. When they reached halfway, they found that the middle passage was cut off. A large amount of debris blocked the way, and they could only continue by using the stairs at the end.
Tap, tap, tap. A crisp sound of high heels approached. Jessica, wearing dark skinned stockings and a mask, stood at the end of the stairwell. She raised her hand, bringing her thumb and middle finger together.
Snap! A finger-snap sound came, and combined with the ultrasonic waves she and her daughter Lisa had prepared, it vibrated open the locks of the dorm doors on both sides.
Thud! The wooden doors opened. The Crimson Head Zombies inside, already mutated, came out after hearing the sound. There were also many Crimson Head Zombies, their hands already transformed into sharp claws, baring their fangs and claws as they pounced.
Jessica sneered and left, leaving Simmons' squad to be engulfed by the Crimson Head Zombie horde.
Eddie was watching the show. At first glance, he realized Jessica was quite pretty; he just hadn't noticed it from being around her so often. Shaking his head, he refocused on the corridor.
Because a large number of tables, chairs, and other debris had been thrown out to block the stairwell, the Crimson Head Zombies coming out of the dorms could only rush towards the squad members.
In a confined space, when a Crimson Head Zombie fell, it would often advance a small step, creating space for the Crimson Head Zombies behind it. Occasionally, a Crimson Head Zombie would be knocked down but still crawl forward, snarling.
Buckle was furious; he had been ambushed by a woman! Although the woman had pretentiously snapped her fingers, causing the dorm doors to open and release Crimson Head Zombies to deal with them, he had to admit that her performance was very impressive, with many intricate details.
"Don't panic, throw grenades to both sides to deal with the Crimson Head Zombies behind. Chase forward, keep a close eye." Buckle made a decision immediately.
In this situation, getting out as quickly as possible was the correct move. They absolutely could not be surrounded by Crimson Head Zombies, or even the most elite unit would be wiped out.
Boom! The grenades cleared a large area at both ends of the corridor. The Crimson Head Zombies were blown to smithereens, with a few occasionally crawling on the ground, not yet dead.
Just as the squad members were about to leave, an Licker's tongue wrapped around a team member's neck, dragging him into the dorm. This was followed by the sound of chewing. The Licker's sharp teeth could easily bite through bulletproof vests, rendering them useless for defense.
Bulletproof vests are for stopping bullets, not for preventing dog bites!
Chapter 376: Wiped Out by a Scheme
"Oh, no, Reshaw, you damned monster, die!" A team member, seeing his friend die tragically, immediately opened fire, but the agile Licker dodged all his shots. In his rage, he was grabbed by another Licker, and the Licker that was attacked also used its tongue to grab that team member.
The two Lickers pulled with force in opposite directions. In less than a second, this team member was torn in half, experiencing what the ancient punishment called 'dismemberment by chariots' felt like.
In the blink of an eye, two team members died, which filled Buckle with shock and anger. "Everyone be careful, retreat first. Do not engage them here."
Whoosh! Another Licker charged over. God knew why there were so many Lickers. The enraged Buckle immediately ducked when facing the sudden attack of the Licker, letting it pounce past, then quickly attacked the Licker with his assault rifle.
The magazine wasn't even empty, and at close range, the assault rifle's burst damage had already killed the Licker.
After losing two team members, Simmons' squad was left with ten people. They shook off the Crimson Head Zombie siege and ran towards Jessica's direction.
Jessica and Eddie had already left the stairwell and gone to the fourth floor. Lisa had already started using ultrasonic waves to open doors on the fourth floor, releasing all the Crimson Head Zombies.
The reason this building was so quiet was entirely because all the university students here were infected and locked in their dorms. If one person mutated, the other three would either kill them or be bitten to death by them.
The entire building was already a Crimson Head Zombie paradise, and there was no need for any restraint.
Originally, this had nothing to do with Eddie. Since Simmons sent people to their deaths, he wouldn't be polite. He wanted their dog lives.
Simmons had been monitoring the squad's actions from the research lab beneath the hospital. The footage was somewhat blurry, only showing his squad being ambushed by what might not even be considered people.
"That damned Eddie, he's problematic. Carla, is it possible to develop a serum or device that makes Crimson Head Zombies distinguish between friend and foe?" Simmons' tone became very grim.
