"If we concentrate resources on development, we might be able to create it. Currently, no one has researched how zombies distinguish their own kind." Carla looked indifferently at the modified Veronica Virus she was developing; it wasn't successful yet. If human trials were possible, it would be even more suitable.
Simmons was furious. He picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "Kill him, find his secret."
What greeted Simmons, however, were continuous screams. His subordinates were dying tragically. Their dying cries and the sound of bones breaking, without exception, indicated that his subordinates had been ambushed!
In fact, Eddie and Jessica were enjoying the scene of those private armed teams being besieged by zombies and Lickers. The reason they weren't attacked was entirely because they were well hidden.
Besides their own kind, zombies will attack any creature not infected by the T-Virus, including Eddie and others who were strengthened by the virus.
Eddie's principle was to dominate the virus and integrate it. Zombies, however, are creatures dominated by the virus. What drives their actions is not the zombies themselves, but the virus's desire to multiply and spread.
It must be said that the leader of the group did have some skill. Even when besieged amidst the zombies, he remained calm, expertly using head turns and kicks to create some space for himself.
However, physical strength is limited. The dormitory building was never short of zombies. One was killed, two rushed up, one after another, eventually overwhelming the squad members who had run out of bullets and ammunition.
Once it came to close-quarters combat, surrounded by zombies, no matter how clever the technique, it was impossible to use.
After ten minutes of fierce fighting, the last Buckle picked up a grenade in grief and pulled the pin. He had already been bitten in multiple places. His honor as a warrior would not allow him to become an irrational beast.
Boom! As the bomb exploded, the entire stairwell was filled with a cloud of smoke. As the smoke cleared, Buckle's body, still staring in death, was shattered, and the surrounding zombies were also blown to pieces.
"It's over, let's go. What a good show, did you enjoy it?" Eddie's smile was incredibly cruel.
Jessica, however, leaned on Eddie, "As long as you're happy, I'll do anything."
"Really! Hehe, what I want you to do is not ordinary." Eddie chuckled mischievously. Not taking advantage of a good opportunity would make him a scumbag.
"Just tell me, and I'll do it." Jessica's beautiful eyes flashed with an incredibly firm resolve. She was a woman willing to give anything for Eddie.
"Let's leave here first, this isn't the place to talk." Eddie smiled. As long as his bodyguard was loyal enough, he could do whatever he wanted.
In the multimedia classroom of the University of Mechanical Engineering, several fat and greasy Senators were trembling. They were holding a meeting and giving speeches for propaganda here, but suddenly someone among the students mutated into a zombie, and the entire campus was affected, forcing them to hide.
When Rachel arrived here with her sister and others, her squad had already taken over the classroom. Inside were several professors and more than a dozen students.
"Leave here now, go, let's move." Rachel didn't hesitate at all, waving her hand directly.
"Wait, you few people call that a rescue? No, send in the army, or I won't leave." A fat, greasy, obese Senator shouted loudly.
"Then you stay here. I won't tolerate people like you." Rachel picked up her gun. "Who else isn't leaving? If you don't leave, stay behind."
Everyone was momentarily breathless. This older sister, whose eyes were covered by blonde hair, was too fierce, too queen-like. It made the boys stare intently. For boys their age, such a woman had great destructive power.
Facing the arrogant Senator, Rachel was not at all polite. If she hadn't met Eddie, she might have tried to persuade him or called Morgan to negotiate, but that would have been in a situation with no other options.
Now she wasn't afraid. If she was dismissed, she could completely go help her little husband, or choose to have children at home, give her man a baby, and fulfill her responsibilities and duties as a wife.
"You will be impeached by me!" The warned Senator, red-faced, shouted defiantly.
"Tsk, useless man, worse than a woman." Rachel scoffed, her tone incredibly mocking, and left with her team and the other survivors, completely disregarding the Senator's fate.
Chapter 377: Pretty Women All Know How to Act
Eddie quickly met Rachel at the gate of the University of Mechanical Engineering with Jessica. "Your actions are really slow. Hurry up, many people here have been infected."
They quickly crossed the campus square, where not many zombies were wandering, only a sparse dozen or so. Rachel led her team forward, using close-quarters combat to eliminate the zombies. Her fierce attacks directly severed the zombies' heads.
This made the Senator, who wanted revenge and was following behind, feel a suffocating sensation. That woman was too fierce. General Morgan, that old dog, would not easily send such a fierce general to her death.
After crossing the square, they had arrived at the former Medical University. As long as they passed through the university building, they could reach the main gate. Outside the University Town's gate, there were troops waiting to meet them. Once there, they would be safe.
Thump! A man covered in tumors jumped down from the third floor. His eyes no longer looked human, and a large amount of toxins seemed to be hidden within the huge tumors.
Bang! Rachel directly shot the tumor man's head, and a cloud of gas began to spread.
"That's poison gas, quickly disperse. If you don't want to become zombies, get out of here quickly." Eddie said, then pulled Gina and ran into the adjacent teaching building.
Rachel gritted her teeth, "We'll force our way through the teaching building."
They entered through the side door of the teaching building, then closed the door behind them, blocking the room to prevent the poison gas from entering.
As soon as they entered, a Licker appeared, dragged a student away, and instantly bit him to death. The soldiers, realizing what was happening, hastily opened fire, but the Licker had already left, climbing on the walls and slipping away.
Maintaining its predatory instincts, it hid in the shadows, silently watching.
"Shoot quickly! Kill it, otherwise, how will we get through?" The fat and greasy Senator, who had followed them, immediately shouted.
Eddie, however, turned and asked, "What's your name, and what do you do?"
"Quirk, I am a Senator from Kunka Tela City, and also a member of the House of Representatives. Kid, flattering me is useless. I serve the citizens of the Federation." The obese Senator snorted arrogantly.
"Serve the citizens of the Federation? I think you're letting citizens die! Don't you know that shouting loudly will attract those monsters' attention? Idiot!" Eddie snorted, looking at the other person as if he were an imbecile, and even pulled Gina a few steps away.
"You bastard, how dare you speak to me like that! I'll make you pay, just wait for a lawyer's letter!" Quirk roared furiously.
"Is that so? The boss of Mysterious Pharmaceutical, an honorary advisor to the Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission, a member of the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies, and the savior of countless patients. What do you have to compare with me? Stripped of your ridiculous Senator identity, what else are you, what are you even?" Eddie said while poking the other person's chest.
His aggressive demeanor, combined with extreme sarcasm, and the mocking, spectating eyes of those around them, all made Quirk incredibly ashamed and angry.
Rachel did not stop her husband. She also found that Senator very displeasing. He was just a Senator; if he died, he died. He wasn't a member of the Senate. If he were a member of the Senate, he wouldn't be so ignorant; at least they would be people with some upbringing and dignity.
"You dare to speak to me like that!" Quirk was so angry he couldn't speak, only able to retort with pale words, but he couldn't even get them out, his speech was not smooth.
"I am speaking to you like this. I heard you didn't want to come out? Why did you follow us out again? The speed of this face-slapping is too fast, isn't it? Do you still have dignity? Hmm? Do you still have any shame?" Eddie mocked without reservation. He had already learned from Gina that this guy seemed to be planning to deal with Rachel?
That wouldn't do. Since he had that thought, he could just wait to be retaliated against. Only he could bully Rachel; no one else could.
"You! Are you crazy? Don't you know you can't yell? Do you want to kill people, will you only be satisfied after killing everyone?" Quirk pointed at Eddie and reprimanded him.
"I'll f*cking kill you, you idiot!" Eddie slapped him. "I'm warning you, talk is talk, don't point your finger at me. Is this a provocation or an attempted assault?"
Quirk was stunned by the hit. He had completely not expected the other party to strike and immediately shouted, "Is there no law anymore? He hit me, he hit me!" He then pleaded for help from the crowd.
A university professor finally couldn't stand it and stepped forward to scold, "Mr. Quirk, you'd best stop shouting. You'll attract the zombies."
Bang! Eddie directly picked up his gun and shot the Licker that was preparing to ambush them, without even aiming. The speed of his shot was so fast that even a creature like a Licker couldn't react.
"Hmph, stop arguing. If you say one more word, I'll kill all of you! It's better for one person to die than for everyone to be killed!" Rachel snorted. What seemed like a reprimand was actually helping her husband in secret.
This made Quirk very unhappy, almost exploding with anger, but he could only rage impotently. Feeling wronged and helpless, he could only endure it, enduring it like a cuckold!
The group continued forward. As long as they passed through the hall, they could get out, and outside was where the National Guard was located.
The zombies here had clearly become more numerous, seemingly instinctively searching for places to hunt. Going outside meant food, so they were all concentrated in the hall.
The squad members used grenades to blast a passage through the middle of the hall, preparing to rush out at that moment.
"Now! Everyone, rush out, don't stop." Rachel waved, signaling her subordinates to lead the survivors out.
