Quirk, however, was filled with hatred. Seeing Rachel standing on the second-floor edge, with countless zombies below, he hardened his heart. Seizing the moment when no one was paying attention, he violently crashed into her, intending to knock this detestable woman down to the first floor to be devoured by the zombies. With so many zombies below, she definitely wouldn't survive.
The thought of her dying a cruel death made Quirk unable to help but laugh aloud.
Little did he expect that Eddie had been watching him the whole time. Upon seeing his actions, Eddie snorted.
Rachel and Eddie had been in very close contact, and she instantly understood the man's intention. A hint of ruthlessness flashed in her beautiful eyes. She took a step forward, completely unexpected by Senator Quirk behind her. He hadn't anticipated Rachel moving forward, so he hit nothing but air, directly falling to the basement floor and landing in the pile of zombies!

Chapter 378: An Enraged Carla
Rachel, however, regretfully shook her head, "There are too many zombies down there. Why did you suddenly rush down? Were you trying to frame me? You're truly detestable. Even if you die, I'll still take you to military court and make your family pay compensation."
Provoked by Rachel's words, Senator Quirk, who was being bitten by zombies, immediately fainted. Who could possibly endure that?
Eddie pulled out a grenade and tossed it down. After Quirk was bitten to death, the grenade exploded, blowing him sky-high. Now, he no longer had to worry about him turning into a zombie.
Rachel raised an eyebrow, "Don't do that next time. It's hard to explain."
"Dying like that is just letting him off easy," Eddie said coldly.
A warmth flashed in Rachel's heart, "If I hadn't dodged, what would you have done?"
"I would have pulled you back, you idiot. How could you not dodge? No matter what, I wouldn't let anything happen to you," Eddie said proudly.
"Thank you. Let's go quickly, before someone discovers us. Wait for my call tonight," Rachel said, then left in her high-heeled combat boots. Being cared for was clearly a very nice thing, and it was time to give the man some benefits.
The group passed through the hall and left University Town. Outside, the National Guard had already begun clearing the surrounding zombies, and doctors were giving vaccinations.
Although some thugs took the opportunity to cause trouble, they were all shot dead by the elite biochemical anti-terrorism unit. Special situations required special handling.
The death of a Senator was not a problem. Rachel submitted the report of his death, stating he was bitten by zombies, which was no one else's fault.
Rachel quickly walked over, "Come with me. Let's hurry, I'll be very busy later."
Eddie was a little puzzled, but he didn't suspect anything. Rachel wouldn't harm him; there might be something important.
An hour later, Simmons' motorcade arrived to pick up Eddie. As the host, it would be very impolite to remain indifferent when the guest had already arrived.
Eddie, along with Jessica and Lisa, didn't get in the car. Instead, he found a car himself and followed behind. Who knew if there were bombs in the cars?
Rachel, with a rosy face, hummed a little tune as she went to work. Before that, she had to settle her sister Gina. It seemed necessary to let her start her internship early; staying in college was too dangerous.
Gina had always been quite obedient. After hearing Rachel's suggestion, she agreed, but wanted to work at Mysterious Pharmaceutical and asked if her sister could help.
"What would you do at Mysterious Pharmaceutical? Find another company," Rachel refused without thinking. She wouldn't explain why.
"Mysterious Pharmaceutical is a reputable company with good benefits and overtime pay. I heard from other alumni that many companies don't give overtime pay and have terrible benefits. So I want to go to Mysterious Pharmaceutical. Rachel, don't you know the company's boss? Please help me," Gina pleaded.
"No, find another company," Rachel shook her head. She wouldn't agree.
"Why? Wouldn't it be safer to stay at Mysterious Pharmaceutical? They also have a relief organization. If I could, I'd like to go help there. Wouldn't that be okay?" Gina said helplessly.
"That's fine. I'll call Claire," Rachel clearly knew Claire, this was a private matter.
At Kunka Tela City Memorial Hospital, Eddie saw Simmons and Carla, as well as a beautiful woman in a white coat with smoky eye makeup. This woman gave him a strange feeling, like a woman of the night. How could a normal doctor be so alluring? They were all respectable people; beauty came from temperament, not seductiveness.
"Simmons, what do you want with me? And you made me come all the way here. If you don't have a good reason, believe it or not, I'll tear down your house!" Eddie greeted him with an immediate outburst.
"Hmph, of course I have something for you. Let's talk inside. There are no traps, don't worry," Simmons made an inviting gesture.
Carla's beautiful eyes were fixed on Eddie. She would never forget, nor could she forget, the humiliation this man had inflicted on her intellectually. "Hmph, aren't you very formidable? Come and see, then you'll know."
"Of course I'm not afraid. I've already reported my whereabouts to Congress and the media. If something happens to me while I'm here to see you, it's definitely your problem. Who told us we're enemies, right, old man!" Eddie wasn't worried and walked over quickly.
As he passed Carla, he suddenly patted her, "Hello, fake doctor. Long time no see. Have you been buying other professional doctorate certificates with your economic power recently?"
"You bastard, I'll kill you!" Carla was extremely furious. This bastard was provoking her again!
"Enough, the main business is important," Simmons scolded. He was very displeased that Eddie was actually flirting with his subordinate. He was truly a scumbag. Did he have to say such things to every pretty woman he saw?
"Hmph, I'll make you pay!" Carla snarled, then walked into the lab in her high heels.
Eddie shrugged, "Whatever. Many women say that to me, just because I didn't choose them. By the way, beautiful, what's your name? Let's exchange phone numbers!"
"Oriana. Phone? You can find my number by looking it up. I'm busy, I don't have time. Goodbye, handsome. We have things to do!" Oriana winked. If you looked closely, you could see a hint of playful amusement in her eyes. She always disdained these obnoxious men.
The group arrived at the laboratory. Through the tempered glass, they could see a six-legged monster with many bone spurs on its body, growling on the ground, bound by layers of iron chains. Every time it roared, it struggled, and these chains would restrain it, causing a burst of furious roars.
"G-Creature? You're still interested in studying G-Creatures? You're not thinking of using this thing on pigs, are you? Using the virus's characteristics to increase pork production? You really are something, Simmons. That's not a bad idea. You'll definitely make a fortune in the future!" Eddie said, his imagination running wild.
Pfft! Caught off guard, Carla and Oriana both burst out laughing.
Carla glared at the man, both annoyed and amused. Her hatred for this man didn't affect her smile. For a moment, she even felt a slight flutter, but only a slight one.

Chapter 379: Carla's Change of Mind
"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you're a Muslim. How could you eat pork, unless you're not a proper Muslim?" Eddie continued to tease.
Simmons was a bit annoyed, "I'm not a Muslim, I believe in God!"
"Whatever you say. Want a vaccine? None. Perhaps you can go find its inventor, William Birkin. That guy definitely has it," Eddie said with certainty, once again throwing William under the bus. Stealing his wife and trying to kill him—such an act was truly heartless!
"Isn't William dead? How do you know he has a vaccine?" Simmons frowned.
"I'm very close with his wife, we meet often. Although she's not around now, occasionally, I still miss her. It's truly sad news," Eddie said with a sorrowful expression. In reality, Annette was alive and well, and pregnant with his child.
Simmons' eye twitched. He was clearly a bit speechless about this scumbag. Everyone had different interests and hobbies, and liking women was not an unpredictable thing. "Besides this method, do you know how to deal with this monster?"
Eddie shook his head, "I don't know. I only know William is still alive. I saw a video of him and Albert escaping in Raccoon City. The one who died in Raccoon City was just his clone. Using himself to shield himself—what a talent. Why didn't he go to South Thailand for surgery? Then he could marry himself."
A glint flashed in Oriana's beautiful eyes. Although Eddie's words were nonsensical, she caught a hint of professional terminology. The man in front of her indeed had a deep understanding of viruses.
"William is still alive? That traitor, hmph. I'll send people to catch him. Do you know where he is?" Simmons turned and asked.
"Brother, although we're enemies, I used to admire your intelligence. Now I take that back. How can you be so stupid? Would a fugitive tell others where he is, waiting for them to catch him?" Eddie scoffed.
Simmons snorted and said nothing more.
Carla, however, changed the subject, "The G-Virus has infinite and variable growth. Used in medicine, it could even achieve limb regeneration. This virus has great research value, don't you know that?"
"Even if I knew, I wouldn't research it. This virus already involves the gene chain and will change it, turning people into monsters. Why research it? I'm not as rich as you guys. You say it's good to be rich. If I were rich, I'd go to clubs with young models every day, why would I work!" Eddie said, talking nonsense with a serious expression.
"Hmph, please mind your language. You are in front of a lady," Carla snorted, "I will research a breakthrough that defeats you. Just wait, you shameless bastard."
"Then I'm truly looking forward to it. I don't deny you're very smart, but with all due respect, I'm not saying you're inferior to me," Eddie said in a calm tone.
