Chapter 229 - 229

Carla tilted her head back slightly, a hint of pride in her voice. "Of course, I'm the genius."

"No, no, I'm just saying everyone here is worse than me." Eddie fired a broadside.

"You bastard, if you're so capable, show us your results instead of just bragging all day." Carla scoffed, her beautiful eyes full of dissatisfaction.

"Putting everything else aside, I'll point you in the right direction. Every virus has its own characteristics. Grasp those characteristics, combine them, and create a new virus—isn't that invention? You're so stupid, haha, but it doesn't matter. No matter what virus it is, as long as I study it, I'll definitely create a vaccine." Eddie said proudly.

"Virus characteristics?" Carla seemed to have thought of something. Her beautiful eyes, filled with complex emotions, glanced at Eddie, who was enthusiastically boasting to Simmons. This man always defeated her so nonchalantly.

Only someone who had delved into biology would understand how correct Eddie's words were. A single sentence could save Carla many detours. This was a display of profound knowledge and an understanding of how to apply it, which somewhat deflated Carla. Was there really no way for her to impress this man?

"I say, Simmons, if there's nothing else, I'm leaving. I don't have time to brag with you." Eddie looked down at the time on his phone. "There are a few hot beauties waiting for me outside. Also, don't touch the G-Virus. That thing is hard to control; don't court death. Wiping it out would degrade the Federation's strength by several notches."

The last sentence was the key. Simmons knew this thing was tricky. If it were released and spread, the consequences would be unimaginable. That's why he secretly conducted experiments in the highest security research institute. His mission was to maintain the Federation's hegemonic position internationally. If he failed, he would be kicked out of his leadership position, never to recover.

"Do you know who's behind this?" Simmons suddenly asked. He had always suspected Eddie, but now it seemed not. Although the other party was a scumbag, his character was trustworthy. As for wanting to kill the other party, that had nothing to do with acknowledging his character.

"I only know I need to attend a bikini party, and you'd better not make me miss it." Eddie's expression was calm. He projected the image of someone constantly surrounded by women, a perfect disguise.

"You may leave. One last question, do you know where Ada is? You'd better stay away from her!" Simmons reprimanded.

"Thanks to you, Ada was also in Raccoon City at the time. Your nuclear bomb was very timely; she didn't escape. You bastard, you have to take responsibility!" Eddie suddenly punched Simmons, sending him crashing into the wall.

The surrounding Guard immediately aimed their guns at Eddie.

Simmons waved his hand, dismissing the Guard, his expression somewhat sad. "You're saying Ada is dead? She died in Raccoon City?"

"If nothing unexpected happened, she probably didn't escape. Whether she's dead or not, I don't know. If the missiles launched by the military were duds, perhaps she could have survived. All of this was your decision, your fault. That's why I dislike you so much." Eddie sneered and walked away, leaving Simmons filled with remorse and grief.

Chapter 380: Svetlana's News

If Simmons knew that the goddess he thought about day and night was already pregnant with Eddie's child, he might just vomit blood on the spot.

Ada was like a goddess to Simmons, and he held a belief that she was to be admired from afar, not to be defiled.

Just after leaving the hospital, Eddie received another call from Rachel. "Do you have time? If you're leaving the city, go to the exit passage and take my sister with you. She's in great danger here."

"It's no trouble at all. I'm leaving now. You be careful yourself. Don't stay in dangerous places. If things go south, run immediately. Honor is only useful to those who are alive; it doesn't do much for the dead." Eddie reminded her.

A happy smile flashed in Rachel's beautiful eyes, and she said softly, "I understand, husband. I'll miss you. You be careful too."

"Got it, that's all for now." Eddie said, then hung up the phone. Rachel was initially just a pawn to Eddie, but now her status had changed. The slave has turned the tables and is singing?

Arriving at the city's exit street, it was guarded by the National Guard. All departing residents had to have a certificate from the hospital proving they had been vaccinated, and then undergo a simple test before they could leave. This type of free departure was only suitable for people with power and influence, as it was capitalism, and money allowed one to do as one pleased.

Ordinary residents, however, could only receive the vaccine, then undergo further isolation and observation. Only after being confirmed not to turn into zombies would they be released. No one wanted to become a zombie, as this would cause widespread panic in the Western Federation.

Arriving at the Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission's outpost on the street, Gina, wearing dark skinned-rimmed glasses and a women's business suit, stood gracefully in the open area of the outpost, waiting. Behind her were her two smoky-eyed classmates, Paris and Merle. They would also accompany her to the relief organization Terra Save, led by Claire.

"Hi, Eddie, sorry to trouble you." Gina smiled sweetly. She and Rachel really were sisters; they were both 'Queens of the Ball'.

"Hi, handsome, I look forward to your guidance in the future." Paris smiled.

"Let's go, get on my plane." Eddie nodded and boarded his helicopter. He was also a big capitalist, and the taxes he paid each month were enough to enjoy better treatment.

The three cities still needed some time to be de-restricted, and WilPharma was also protected by the National Guard, working at full capacity to produce vaccines.

Eddie didn't concern himself with the matters there. Instead, he returned to Havverville City, called Claire, Moira, and Cindy over, had them lead Gina and the others to complete their onboarding procedures, and then set off back with him.

Meanwhile, in Eastern Slav Republic, Svetlana, who hadn't been seen for a long time, returned to her homeland with new, inexpensive medicines. She recruited displaced people and former subordinates to build her own forces. Her medicines were purchased from Excella. Returning to her homeland was to quell the internal strife, and she had to ascend to the presidency.

However, not long after starting, Svetlana felt something was wrong with herself, always feeling occasional bouts of nausea. After half a month, this symptom disappeared. But she became increasingly hungry, now eating nearly sixty pounds of food, which was incredibly exaggerated.

After undergoing tests, Svetlana discovered she was pregnant! This caught her off guard. Her business had just started, and How childish came too suddenly.

Recalling her time with Eddie, although they had only interacted a few times, she hadn't taken any preventative measures, nor had she followed the principle of extinguishing an alcohol lamp with a cap. Moreover, due to the characteristics of the G-Virus, her chances of pregnancy were very high; she seemed to inherently crave reproduction.

Helpless, Svetlana could only continue working and never considered an abortion. Since she had a child, she had to bear the responsibility of a mother. Fortunately, after being enhanced, she wouldn't be as fragile as an ordinary pregnant woman and could still continue her career.

None of this was told to Eddie; Svetlana kept the matter a secret.

When Eddie returned to the cruise ship, he was surprised to find it docked near an unknown island, where there were many stone-stacked houses.

A tall, blonde woman was sunbathing on the beach. It was the awakened Alexia!

Eddie walked over and looked at the languid Alexia, asking, "How did you wake up?"

"Surprised? My previous fusion wasn't a waste of time. Although not a perfect fusion, it allowed my cells to adapt to most of the Veronica Virus. Now I have completely mastered this power; you are no longer my opponent." Alexia waved her hand, and bridge-pier-thick vines appeared on the beach.

"Stop messing around, wife." Eddie waved his hand.

Alexia froze for a moment, then angrily said, "What are you talking about! Who's your wife? Shameless!"

"By the way, can you make satellites? We need a satellite with stealth capabilities. Even without it, it's fine. Satellites are very important to us; at least they can defend against some attacks. If someone dislikes us, they might send a nuclear missile our way. Do you think you can withstand that?" Eddie's expression was very serious.

Alexia sat up from the beach chair, her jade hand supporting her chin, lost in thought. "Satellites? That's not difficult. I can make one, but it requires a missile silo for launch."

But just after answering, Alexia reacted, gritting her teeth in annoyance. "You're changing the subject again!"

"Alright, I know you're very powerful. We're allies, aren't we? We're all the same kind of people, and we'll always need similar people to accompany and talk to each other in the future." Eddie smiled.

Alexia rolled her eyes. "Your wife, Jill, already told me something like that."

Alexia, having been cured once, still harbored some queenly dreams, but she had become much more restrained in her demeanor. At least she was learning to get along with people slowly. There was a man here who understood her, offering at least a hint of family warmth.

"Where are Jill and the others?" Eddie asked, puzzled.

Alexia pointed to the other side. "They're having a barbecue. Hmph, couldn't you at least pretend to be scared of me?"

"I know we're partners; you wouldn't harm me." Eddie said, then gave Alexia a hug.

Chapter 381: Eddie, Admired Even by the Queen

Thinking of this, Alexia was quite grateful to Eddie and willing to cooperate with him. Only someone who, like herself, had been strengthened by a virus could share a common language with her.

Although the Veronica Virus had been widely deciphered, and improved agents were later added, Alexia could still control certain plants to assist her activities, such as moving stones, excavating mountains and caves. Using gigantic vines was the most suitable option.

"Were all these done by one person?" Eddie came to the underground level, where there were still some concrete and rebar columns supporting the upper and lower levels to prevent collapse.

Alexia tilted her snow-white chin proudly. "Of course. Aren't you surprised? It can even replace machines, though the vines consume quite a bit."

"Their growth must be very fast, quite inexpensive, and highly cost-effective—cheap and effective!" Eddie analyzed. This was the most exaggerated aspect of the Veronica Virus: it retained the hierarchical control of the queen ant while discarding undesirable animal gene fragments.

This was the result of Alexia's collaborative deciphering. As the creator, she was intimately familiar with the Veronica Virus. With Eddie's suggestions, it was a simple matter for the two of them to jointly improve a virus.

"Of course, even if they consume quite a lot of fertilizer. Building an underground research lab is pretty good. Are you interested in continuing to develop new viruses?" Alexia smiled.
