Rat-a-tat-tat, the sound of the assault rifle rang out, the bullets forming a metal storm.
The Tyrant immediately shielded its eyes with one hand, then rapidly charged forward. It grabbed a Special Forces member, and with a squeeze of its large hand, crushed him along with his steel helmet.
Chapter 485: Queen of Balls Rachel's One-on-One.
That mysterious mycelium might be very helpful for the Immortality Project, as two thousand years is not enough time. Eddie wants to live longer, preferably forever!
Halfway there, he happened to run into Chris escorting civilians in retreat, while the squad members were quickly eliminating the surrounding Hunters and Zombies. The Hunters kept rushing over like tools that cost nothing.
"Hey, Eddie, it's dangerous here. Where are you going?" Chris shouted.
"Me? I still have some things to handle." Eddie shrugged.
"Hey, young man, don't die, or my daughter will become a widow." Barry patted his shoulder. That comment left one speechless. What did he mean by 'become a widow'? That sounds awful.
Eddie rolled his eyes, truly speechless regarding his father-in-law. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Your daughter is still going to bear me several children."
This time, Barry was speechless. How the hell was he supposed to answer that? What a bastard!
"Why stop? Keep moving, it's extremely dangerous here." A pretty female voice arrived; it was the valiant and heroic Sheva! She was also Chris's partner whom he met in West Africa.
"When did you two start working together?" Eddie's expression was odd.
"Eddie! Are you okay? I didn't expect to see you here." Sheva's eyes clearly lit up when she saw Eddie; she had quite a favorable impression of him.
"I'm here looking for virus samples. There's too little time to make a vaccine now, but they might be useful later. You guys should really wear gas masks; that stuff can spread through the air." Eddie shrugged.
"What! Airborne transmission!" Kuent shrieked.
"It's normal. Otherwise, why would they use drones to spread the virus? But you don't need to worry. Since you haven't mutated yet, it proves your physical constitution is still decent. If you're fine, just drink more hot water!" Eddie laughed.
"Drink more hot water? What does that mean?" Sheva was a little confused.
Rachel curled her lips into a playful smile. "His meaning is to make you drink more water, go to the bathroom more, and detoxify more. Then you'll be fine!"
This left Sheva somewhat speechless. It sounded plausible, but it also sounded a bit vulgar no matter how she heard it. Rough words, sound reasoning.
"Then drink more hot water." Chris didn't doubt his brother-in-law. Aside from issues regarding his private life, this brother-in-law had no other faults.
The group soon separated. Escorting citizens was not what Eddie needed to do.
Sheva reluctantly glanced in the direction Eddie left. He was her benefactor, having given her a lot of help, especially financial support, which meant she didn't have to worry about money. She used her spare time to study more knowledge.
Soon, the Tyrant caught up. Eddie shook his head. "It really is like a lingering ghost."
"I'll help you!" After saying this, Chris told Kuent and the others to escort the citizens to the evacuation point while he came over to support, carrying his assault rifle.
Sheva also came over. Being quite clever, she hoisted a rocket launcher and fired a shot at the Tyrant from afar.
Whoosh! The rocket launcher flew out, trailing exhaust flames.
The Tyrant immediately caught the rocket and redirected it.
The rocket exploded directly into another house, killing the Leaker inside.
The Tyrant's performance made Sheva feel a trace of surprise. With such intelligence, perhaps only a large-caliber machine gun could break through its defense!
Rat-a-tat-tat! Chris pulled the trigger, drawing the Tyrant's attention. "Eddie, you guys go first."
Eddie was somewhat speechless. "You guys should leave quickly. It's just one Tyrant; I can handle it."
"How are you going to deal with it? It's so powerful, and even your Magnum can't cause effective damage to it," Chris roared.
Eddie pulled out a syringe full of medicine, quickly ran over, stabbed the Tyrant's neck, and then turned away gracefully.
The speed was so fast that even the Tyrant couldn't react.
The Tyrant that had been injected kept roaring, its skin showing a large number of bulging blue veins before it began to rapidly decay.
"What did you inject him with?" Chris asked, confused.
"T-Virus. An overdose of the T-Virus causes the Tyrant's muscle equilibrium to lose control, leading to a rampage. However, a Tyrant like this will also be even more dangerous!" Eddie explained.
"Aren't you just helping the opponent?" Chris felt speechless about his brother-in-law.
"No, this will make it go berserk. A Tyrant that has lost control is much easier to deal with than a Tyrant that possesses intelligence. Don't worry about me, you should leave. I can handle it. You'll only cause me trouble by staying here." Eddie waved his hand.
This made Chris a bit unhappy. He was, after all, a battle-hardened person, yet he was being treated as a burden.
Rachel, however, said, "Sheva, stay here. I'll teach you how to deal with the Tyrant!"
"Understood, Instructor!" Sheva nodded and jogged over.
Rachel took out a dagger and struck a combat pose. She then ran forward in high heels, the clicking sound of the heels against the floor echoing, and combined with Rachel's stunning figure, it was a sight to behold.
The frenzied Tyrant saw a lower creature provoking it and charged up without hesitation, intending to smash the opponent into a pulp with its fist.
The whistling sound of the wind arrived; this punch weighed nearly thirty tons.
Rachel leaped up flexibly, dodging the Tyrant's fist in mid-air. At the same time, the dagger in her hand slashed across the Tyrant's neck, nearly severing half of it.
A large stream of foul-smelling blood flowed out, and the Tyrant painfully clutched its neck.
Rachel turned back, took out her Magnum handgun, and aimed at the injured part of the Tyrant's neck. Her jade finger pulled the trigger, completely tearing open the neck area as all six bullets were fired.
The Tyrant's head was directly blown off. It took less than a minute.
Rachel picked up the handgun and blew on the smoking muzzle. She took out bullets to reload the Revolver Magnum, then put it away only after locking the safety.
"See? The neck and head are weak points for any biological weapon. If you can't figure out the specific weakness, hitting these areas is the best choice. You must be quick, accurate, and ruthless!" Rachel instructed.
"Understood, Instructor!" Sheva nodded firmly.
"Understanding isn't enough; you must be able to apply it. Try using it on the Zombies, and then on the Leakers. Don't try it on the Tyrant yet; you're not its opponent. There's no need to clash head-on; just use weapons to resolve it." Rachel added, truly giving off the vibe of an Intellectual Older Sister.
Chapter 486: Cult Leader Sadler Robs a Bank.
After sending Sheva off, Eddie and Rachel continued toward the laboratory. It was a joint secret laboratory of Shén Yà Pharmaceutical and Glory Pharmaceutical (HCF). The superior environment here was perfect for developing the Isolation Mycelium.
Eddie's goal this time was to obtain the development data for the mycelium, hoping that something was still left there.
Meanwhile, Ye Minzhi met up with Mia. "Did you get all the data out?"
Mia nodded. "We got them out. There are still some in the sealed experimental capsules. Allen has arranged personnel for demolition."
"Make sure all traces are erased. Also, the company will dispatch ships tomorrow, and you will evacuate together," Ye Minzhi instructed.
