Chapter 299 - 299

Arriving in another office, OBrien was waiting there. He stood up and extended his hand, "I apologize for troubling you. During our investigation, we discovered that many members of the Greyhound Organization were also infected. They turned into a type of monster, and these monsters pose a great threat."

"The vaccine is already under development. You should receive the preventative vaccine by tomorrow at the latest, which should ensure your safety." Eddie Cai checked the time.

OBrien glanced at Jessica, "I have confidential matters to discuss with you."

Eddie Cai pulled out a chair and sat down, "Then go ahead. Jessica is the person I trust the most; she knows everything. You can speak freely."

Although it wasn't the first time she had heard such words, every time Jessica heard them, she felt her heart rate accelerate. This feeling of being trusted by her husband was truly wonderful.

"We found that these organization members also don't have the vaccine, which is unrealistic. Anything that is developed should have a corresponding vaccine. I suspect someone is secretly organizing the Grayhound, but their sinister intentions are still unknown. We need to find evidence," OBrien said.

"Right, why don't you talk to General Morgan? As the supreme commander, he would surely listen to your advice," Eddie Cai chuckled.

OBrien shook his head, "BSAA and FBC are rivals, and Morgan's actions are highly unusual. I can't trust him. I can only ask you for help."

"I'm not a good person. Asking me won't help." Eddie Cai waved his hand, refusing.

"Don't worry, I don't have any other intentions. I just want to find the real culprit behind the scenes. For the sake of the seven hundred thousand citizens of Terragrigia, please help us," OBrien said sincerely.

Eddie Cai didn't respond. Instead, he took out a cigarette and lit it. "Did you see those ships outside? I remember just yesterday, two cruise ships had already left, and one was anchored offshore. I'm very curious—those cruise ships were clearly supposed to be abandoned, so how did they reappear?"

OBrien fell into contemplation, "Are you saying that cruise ship holds a different secret?"

"I didn't say that; I'm just expressing suspicion. To transport so many bio-weapons, if they used cargo ships, they would certainly be strictly scrutinized. Using helicopters is too obvious and inefficient. Underwater transport is also unfeasible. In that case, there can only be one truth," Eddie Cai smiled sinisterly.

"Chris, take Kuent and Keith, gather all members, and head to the Queen Dido offshore to investigate the situation. I will issue the authorization for the operation!" OBrien ordered.

"No need to rush. Wait until the vaccine is ready. The surrounding area is currently filled with ships from the Joint Fleet; that ship can't escape now. The Joint Fleet is a mixed fleet composed of multiple regions; one person cannot command it," Eddie Cai waved his hand.

At the same time, General Morgan also issued a final ultimatum, ordering Norman, the boss of Grayhound, to quickly evacuate after deploying all the weapons.

Norman, however, refused. His demands were a series of unreasonable terms: stop developing the new city, and have the five major regions hand over a massive ransom to cover their environmental protection maintenance fees.

Wasn't this blatant extortion? Only a fool would agree.

General Morgan was furious. This useless teammate was messing things up at the worst time. The Joint Fleet had already surrounded Terragrigia, and there was little hope of evacuation. He was worried that the whole affair would be exposed.

A night later, the BSAA members received the vaccine personally prepared by Eddie Cai and set off for the Queen Dido to conduct a search and locate the Grayhound base.

General Morgan was initially unaware of this matter, but then a spy within the BSAA sent him a message, making him anxious.

OBrien caught this scene; this Morgan definitely seemed suspicious!

"It has been confirmed that the Queen Dido, anchored in the south, is the Greyhound Organization's mobile command center. I now announce that the Joint Fleet will open fire on it and destroy all the bio-weapons on board!" General Morgan declared fiercely.

OBrien quickly interjected, "No! There are still BSAA members on the ship. We can capture the personnel onboard for interrogation. If there is a virus on the ship and it spreads into the ocean, it will be an incalculable disaster!"

Just as they were at a stalemate, a phone call came in. General Morgan answered the call and nodded.

"Headquarters has made a decision: utilize the Solar Matrix Satellite to conduct a sterilization operation on Terragrigia. This is a joint decision by the European Union region and the Federation. Withdraw your members now, or you will sink to the bottom of the sea together!" General Morgan said righteously.

"What! No! This will prevent the remaining citizens from escaping! Don't you realize this is the beginning of a disaster? If every terrorist organization does this, are we just supposed to compromise?" OBrien roared angrily.

"That is for our superiors to consider! We are soldiers; if there is an order from above, we must obey it. Have you forgotten such a basic principle? High-temperature sterilization to prevent the virus from spreading—that is paramount!" General Morgan argued heatedly.

Left with no choice, OBrien could only order the BSAA members to retreat and evacuate other city residents as much as possible, trying to save more people.

Meanwhile, Eddie Cai and Ye Minzhi had boarded their exclusive plane, preparing to leave the city.

"This city will soon be history. Three days of combat, and we have no leads," Ye Minzhi suddenly sighed with emotion.

Chapter 490: The City's Destruction and Morgan's Imprisonment

The deepest part of the Mediterranean Sea is 1,800 meters, and excavation at this depth is not overly difficult.

They could completely wait until the situation calmed down before slowly proceeding with the destruction process.

The originally scheduled satellite sterilization plan was postponed again, still at General Morgan's insistence. This made OBrien even more suspicious that he was covering something up. So, taking advantage of this gap, he used some members to cover the citizens' retreat while sending others to conduct salvage operations underwater.

Chris received special underwater equipment transported by Claire via plane. It could provide a certain degree of impact immunity and included a remote distress system. If danger struck, they could hold out for a while, waiting for rescue.

Returning to the Mediterranean Headquarters, located on the coast of Italy, they could still see the suffering Terragrigia in the distance!

In Excella's office, Eddie Cai sat on the desk, looking out the window, "We shouldn't get involved in this matter."

Christine was holding coffee, enjoying afternoon tea. "The FBC is about to be disbanded. They've constantly been demanding we increase investment recently, yet they can't provide financial details. This point can be used to provide some criminal evidence against Morgan."

BSAA coming to power is a good thing; at least this department won't be privately controlled, and that old dog Morgan's value has long since been used up.

After the confrontation with Simmons ended, Morgan lost all utility. A greedy person like him will sooner or later destroy himself and his allies; cutting ties as early as possible is the correct choice.

Underwater, Chris unexpectedly encountered Alfred, and with his help, successfully obtained Norman's phone, which contained evidence of his dirty dealings with Morgan.

The nearly insane Norman swallowed a large bottle of tomato juice—ahem, a large bottle of the T-Abyss Virus. His special physique allowed him to successfully transform into an 'Ultimate Abyss,' which had a fish-like appearance yet closely resembled a human. He looked very much like a Tyrant, but he wasn't a Tyrant; he lacked a Tyrant's formidable offensive power.

If not for Alfred, Chris would have chosen to directly confront the mutated Norman with his team.

But with a strategist present, Chris decisively locked Norman inside the cabin, grabbed the evidence, and quickly left with his subordinates.

By this time, Terragrigia was engulfed in flames. The Nemesis, which had been blown into pieces, consumed a large number of sea fish and, after being infected with the T-Abyss Virus, transformed back into a massive Merman Monster.

Thirty meters tall with slimy skin, even the gatling gun of an armed helicopter could only make it howl, unable to inflict fatal damage.

Conventional weapons had little effect on this Merman Monster, so they had no choice but to use a miniature nuclear warhead.

The nuclear storm tore the Merman Monster into fragments. Armed helicopters sprayed special chemical agents and dumped oil, maximizing efforts to clean up the residual fragments and prevent the monster from reviving.

The evacuation plan, originally intended to last three weeks, was forced into an emergency retreat after only one week. Large numbers of yachts were requisitioned to evacuate survivors by sea.

Meanwhile, the Solar Matrix in outer space also began operating, requiring a period of energy storage before finally using high temperatures to sterilize the entire city!

Sheila and Jessica left together aboard a helicopter, witnessing from the sky as the city gradually disintegrated under a burst of dazzling Daylight: buildings collapsed, vehicles burned, and roads cracked.

Everything resembled a post-apocalyptic movie scene. Hunters wailed, incinerated into ash by the high temperatures. Hidden Leakers died completely due to dehydration, and the surviving refugees who hadn't escaped were also purified along with the city.

This disaster ultimately resulted in over three hundred thousand deaths, historically known as the Floating Island Incident!

Just as Alyssa finished her news report, an even more explosive piece of news emerged. A video appeared on the main boards of major news outlets: a private conversation between General Morgan and Norman, the leader of the Greyhound Organization, secretly filmed by a hidden camera.

In particular, Norman was holding a bottle of crimson T-Abyss Virus, muttering, "I never thought the famous counter-terrorism organization would cooperate with terrorists. How utterly fascinating!"

This video was truly explosive, showing General Morgan of the Federation cooperating with terrorism simply to expand his power and take over global counter-terrorism efforts.

Such ambition was shocking, and it even caused some people to worry.

Inside his office at The Pentagon, Simmons slammed his fist on the table. He was so angry he wanted to curse. That idiotic Morgan was incredibly unreliable—he was truly a useless teammate!

Soon after, General Morgan was arrested during a speech about combating terrorism. He spoke about severely cracking down on terrorism while secretly engaging in such dirty dealings, which was truly sickening.
