Chapter 300 - 300

General Morgan was imprisoned in The Pentagon, awaiting trial by the Federation. This matter would ultimately be handed over to the International Court of Justice for trial.

Before that, the Federation could conduct its own trial. Terragrigia was destroyed, and it was a city jointly established by multiple regions, not solely controlled by the Western Federation. Therefore, Morgan, as a criminal, also needed to be handed over to the international community for condemnation.

Eddie whistled as he followed Simmons to the underground prison, with Jessica and Lisa, his two female bodyguards, still behind him.

General Morgan, dressed in a prisoner's uniform, still had incredibly sharp eyes. "What are you doing here?"

Simmons suddenly slapped him. "You truly are a piece of trash."

Eddie, however, interjected, "Hey, how can you hit someone? Violence doesn't solve problems. I came to mock you. Those news reports targeting me last time, you were behind them, weren't you?"

"Hmph, I only regret not getting rid of you, you little beast. If you're the one who provided information to the BSAA..." General Morgan's eyes were filled with fury; he couldn't forgive Eddie.

"Not just now. I'm not interested in your schemes. I just want to purely see you suffer misfortune. If you didn't do such things, no one could frame you." Eddie took out a cigarette and lit it, completely disregarding the 'No Smoking' sign on the wall.

"Say what you want. The victor is king, the loser is bandit, hmph. Simmons, if I had succeeded, you would have benefited too. Don't burn your bridges; be careful not to get away with it," General Morgan threatened.

"Hmph, what I want is to maintain the Western Federation's international standing, not for you to create negative news, you idiot!" Simmons roared, slapping Morgan twice. Slapping him in the face was one of the most satisfying things, if not the most!

Chapter 491: Ashley

It's wrong to mock people, but Morgan, that old dog, isn't a person, so mocking him is perfectly fine.

Eddie often said he wasn't a good person, but he never indiscriminately killed innocent people, nor would he harm hundreds of thousands for a small profit. There's a fundamental difference between a bastard and a bad person!

After mocking Morgan, the two returned to the office.

Simmons poured two cups of coffee, handing one over. "Morgan's situation poses a great threat to the Federation. We need to find a way to reduce the negative impact of this incident on the Federation."

"That's your concern. I only care about money and women. Don't talk to me about those irrelevant things." Eddie waved his hand, embracing Lisa, like a nouveau riche.

Simmons scoffed inwardly, but his expression remained indifferent. "I knew you wouldn't care about the Federation's interests. The Longevity Project has already taken its first step. Many elderly people have stood up again, regaining their vitality, just like middle-aged people."

Eddie blew smoke rings. "Aren't you worried that those old guys will compete with you for power?"

Simmons shook his head. "We have an agreement; you don't need to worry about that. The only threat now is Spencer. He also knows the secret of longevity; we can't let him live. Also, we need to proceed with the next stage of research, and you need to help us."

"Isn't Marcus enough for you to experiment with? If you thoroughly research him, let alone eternal life, even resurrection could be achieved." Eddie directly threw the problem out; he wasn't going to take that bait.

"Not enough. Leeches and humans are different. I'm not afraid to tell you, many Senators in the European Union are already considering joining us. No one will refuse longevity. The Federation will always remain in its hegemonic position, unshakable!" Simmons sneered.

Using the allure of longevity to win over politicians from other regions. This was indeed a brilliant move. Who would willingly die if they could live forever?

"I can't help you with that. If you get sick, come to me for treatment, I can still help you." Eddie's expression was disdainful.

Would he, a person who had undergone multiple enhancements, possessing great strength and a long life, make deals with these short-lived individuals? Nonsense!

Moreover, Simmons and the others' direction was deliberately skewed by Eddie. This method of consuming potential to maintain life could not go far.

Even if they discovered the correct enhancement method, these people's potential would already be exhausted. Forcing enhancement would ultimately turn them into monsters, not humans.

So Eddie wasn't worried about these guys at all. Let them play their knowledge monopoly. The Western Federation first? Then he would slowly destroy that 'first,' and they would even be grateful!

Simmons's expression was distrustful. "I remember Spencer saying you were one of the most promising virologists. You can't do this?"

Eddie typed on the computer. "The Progenitor Virus was discovered in the 1950s. Fifty-two years have passed, and this is only the first step. You want to skip ahead? You haven't even thoroughly researched the Progenitor Virus, and you want to run?"

"I've made it clear. If you can find the Progenitor Virus, I might be interested. That's all. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving." Eddie finished speaking and stood up to leave.

Simmons was deep in thought. He himself had undergone some enhancement; at least now, working intensely for ten hours still made him dizzy. As a beneficiary, Simmons was also very concerned about the results of the next enhancement.

Carla couldn't be trusted, so he could only trust Daniel, whom he had poached from Umbrella. He was one of Spencer's trusted researchers. Compared to Dr. Mueller, one researched body functions, the other biochemical weapons—different specialties.

As Eddie left The Pentagon, a pretty girl suddenly appeared around the corner, and they bumped into each other squarely.

The girl fell to the ground. "Ouch, how do you walk, you!"

"Sorry, beautiful, I was thinking." Eddie reached out and helped her up.

It was then that he noticed two black-clad bodyguards behind the girl, who appeared to be presidential secret service agents.

The girl gasped when she saw Eddie. "You're that Eddie?"

Eddie looked left and right. "If there isn't a second person as handsome as me, then you're talking about me."

"Hehe, you're so vain. The medicine you invented saved many lives. You're a good person. On behalf of my father, I thank you and hope you can continue to provide more affordable medicines to benefit the citizens. Goodbye, handsome!" The short-haired blonde girl left with a silver-bell-like laugh.

Eddie felt she looked familiar but couldn't recall who she was.

Tap, tap, tap. The sound of high heels clicking on tiles approached. Hunnigan, the intelligence agent in a women's suit, walked over and naturally linked her arm with the man's. "What's wrong? Was that girl pretty?"

Eddie recounted what had just happened. Hunnigan burst into laughter after hearing it. "Her name is Ashley Graham. Her father is my direct superior. Do you know who she is now? She's a bit of a spoiled young lady. I'm surprised you weren't held accountable by her."

Half a month later, the BSAA officially took over the disbanded Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission soldiers. These unemployed soldiers would join the BSAA, becoming a strong force against biochemical weapons.

Of course, Chris's recruitment standards were very strict, because he would only accept elites, and absolutely no garbage! That's right, they wouldn't take garbage like Morgan.

Morgan was attacked while being transported to the International Court of Justice near the Mediterranean coast. The escorts died on the spot, and remnants of General Morgan's body were found, but it couldn't be confirmed if it was him.

At the same time, Ada, Sienna, and Caroline infiltrated West Africa. This was a hidden laboratory, the very one the Western Federation had been searching for but couldn't find, built underground.

A beam of Daylight descended from the sky into the ground, illuminating a flowerbed filled with numerous orange-yellow flowers. The nearby walls were covered with many murals, all proclaiming this to be the sacred land of the Ndipaya Tribe.

Ada felt very strange. "It seems no one has been here for a long time!"

Sienna scanned with professional instruments. "Indeed, no one has been here, and these flowers, they're plastic!"

Ada didn't easily pick the flowers but instead conducted tests and recorded data there.

Soon, the large gate on the ground opened, and a squad of soldiers entered.

Ada and the other two women exchanged glances, immediately used their magnetic field ability to float into the air, and followed the Daylight out of the underground flowerbed.

Chapter 492: Ashley Is Missing

There were some bamboo houses built near the water, their contents long abandoned and covered in dust. There were no signs of any survivors. How could the Ndipaya Tribe, who had migrated to the surface, disappear without a trace?

After finding the underground ruins, these soldiers only guarded the gate and then began calling headquarters. The Federation quickly notified the military base stationed in West Africa, instructing the base to send soldiers to take over the ruins.

They would not act rashly. Lessons learned had made the family's soldiers very cautious. Who knew if there would be any monsters inside?

Ada was still investigating nearby; she was very curious about these unknown things.

Caroline, however, looked at her watch. "All right, time's up. We should go back."

This was the rule: exploring and gathering intelligence was allowed, but they had to return to Goddess Island at least once every half month. Otherwise, they would have to have a second child.

During pregnancy, they couldn't go anywhere, and the punishment for being late was that severe. Even the strong Ada didn't dare to disobey; she had one child and that was enough, she absolutely didn't want a second one, it was too uncomfortable.
