The moon glistered through the sky, radiating through. Group of stars hanged beside, trying to gain some glory for themselves too.
The nameless one sat in his room. He couldn't hide his excitement, as a subtle grin forms in his face.
This was the first time he had worn such clothes in his life so of course he would feel embarassed.
'Woah! What a great room..."
The boy thought while stroking his hair.
He was dressed nicely by the clothes given by the maid. A black coat, white shirt and a tie suited him very much. The clothes were given to him to wear tomorrow but he couldn't wait and wore it right away.
His hair was tied into a pony tail. This was his effort and understanding of how nobles look because he had never step foot out of the prison and only heard stories.
Knock! Knock!
The knocking of the door jolted him out of his imagination as he flinched.
"Are you there?"
The voice of a woman was heard. After further listening, it could be deducted that it was Maya.
'Why is she here?'
The young teen opened the door as Maya stepped in.
"Excuse me..."
There was a strange nervousness in her eyes and desperation. Her gaze never met the young boy.
"Uh...Why are you here?"
She closed the door behind her and sighed.
"It's just that...I want to talk about something with you."
"Sure, why not?"
He offered her a seat, dragging a chair that was by the study table.
"Don't you think that it feels strange that we are granted such hospitality?"
The boy didn't say anything. He had also pondered over this. Why did they go to such lengths for 'rehabilitating' the prisoners when they turned a blind eye before. It was not like them, after all nobles are supposed to be despicable and supremacist beings. It could be a trap.
But the woman had offered that deal with benefit on her side. The prisoners would work for her and she had to give a low salary compared to other services.
"Rav was sleeping so I came over."
Maya fondled with her necklace possibly due to the uneasiness in her heart. Her necklace glowed red due to the gem present. It was a expensive-looking amulet that couldn't have been common among the rich.
"You are not wrong, we have to be cautious. Tomorrow I will alert the others too."
Maya smiled as she held his hands.
"I hope the generosity directed towards us is not false."
'Not false, huh"
He went up to the windows and closed the curtains.
Maya treaded through the hallway to enter her room. Her room was forty-fifty steps from the boy's room.
The door opened producing a creaking sound as she went in.
Her room was practically the same as the one with no name's, aside for a few things. She sat down on the bed and clutched the amulet as she quietly muttered,
"Good night mom!"

The horizon again glittered with red and orange hues a the eternal ball of light rose again taking up the crown from the moon.
Birds chirped while the rooster growled with all his might. The dawn still contained remnants of the night as a hint of coldness could be felt.
The unnamed one stretched his arms letting out a quiet groan.
He had developed a habit of waking up early because at the prison, the one who wakes up early gets the most food.
"It feels quite uncanny."
He muttered as he looked outside the window. It seemed that the maids woke up before as the curtain was already drawn.
Instead of the metallic smell of rusting iron, it was filled with the aroma of the morning. The scene before him was comforting. The courtyard consisted of workers cleaning and the grasscutter grooming the grass with her blade.
The woman sat at the table in the garden sipping tea. She sat there cross-legged, her form full of grace and elegance.
'Hmm?'
The arrival of an imperial carriage caught his eye. He had never seen this type of carriage as he had been locked up since he was born.
Horses galloped as they quickly stopped before the gates after being hit by the driver. The woman stood up as she went to the transport.
Then,
A tall black figure got out of the carriage. It seemed to grow taller and taller as he got out. It was a man. He had long and curly hair that went up to his shoulders.
He was huge.
Truly huge. He towered over the transport. He was jacked, very muscular abnormally so. His neck muscles bulged out as abs could be seen through his clothes. His arm was big, seemingly able to crush a boulder.
His eyes was bloodshot red as heavy panting could be heard. Upon seeing the noble woman his anger grew exponentially as he went to throw a jab.
BANG!
The fist of the enraged man sounded like a gunshot. A gust of wind flowed violently through his fist.
What the nameless boy felt was fear-primal and pure. The fear that was gained through watching a predator, devastating and helpless.
But, what he had imagined didn't happen. The blow was blocked by the figure at the gate. It was stopped by the flat side of the blade. The force of the clash caused dirt and air to flow in all directions.
Even though it was stopped the blade trembled in the figure's hands as the woman was surrounded by soldiers. She gritted her teeth as she clenched her teeth.
'What the fuck is happening over there?!"
The boy thought as his body shivered.
At the same time,
Maya was cleaning the windows, her face showing determination and a smile. Her smile showed the wrinkles in her face, gained by the long time she spent at the prison. She was happy that she was given a chance at life.
"Maya?"
A voice caused her to turn around.
It was Rav.
His face was muddy, his clothes dirty and rugged. It looked like that he had been working in labor.
"Oh hey! were you working too?"
"Yeah, I was moving something."
They didn't say anything. The silence spoke for itself. The number of days they had spent were not much but there existed a special understanding formed by similar experiences and their effort to be something better.
"We are quite fortunate, isn't that so?"
Maya spoke, her gaze falling down on another thing.
"Yes, we are sure lucky."
"Those two are young chicks...they have their entire life ahead of them. They have to grow into birds; free and unrestrained. They have such a fire in their eyes, we must protect it from extinguishing. Don't you think so?"
Her words echoed in Rav's mind, leaving him dazed, a quiet smile finding it's way into his lips.
"Yeah."
As this emotional convo was going on outside there was something going entirely opposite.
The enraged man was huffing and groaning as the atmosphere was full of tension.
Everyone was on alert, gripping their blades and guns. Some even loaded a bullet in their gun preparing for the worst.
Because they saw what he was capable of,
They had to stay on guard to protect, to survive.
"Quiet down will you!" The woman exclaimed.
"Argh! You always fool Imus!!"
The man gripped his heads in frustration as he let out a loud groan.
"Don't worry, I got fodder for you."
The woman grinned viciously as she coughed.
"Hehe, now Imus is interested!"
