"It's Evan mom… film emperor Evan." Kaya shrieked.
Film emperor Evan was someone who won awards like it was some collection. His rate in the industry is so high but he is always wanted by top direction mainly for his phenomenal acting and handsome face. He had just won his 100th award which made fans give him the nickname Film emperor. He was someone who had been in the spotlight since he was really little and his every action was always on the trending search.
One time, he ate from a little food store and was caught by paparazzi, and days after that, fans would gather at the food stall only ordering the dish Evan ordered.
Ava scrunched her face as she moved the phone away from her ear because Kaya was too loud. "Wait let me get this straight, you were chosen for a top variety show and you are partnering up with a top artist… oh baby… we should really thank your dad. I think he pulled some strings for you." she smiled.
"Mom… I do not think it's dad. This is something I got myself why can't you be happy for me. Kaya interrupted and besides I heard film emperor Evan requested for me specially to be his partner. Mom… do you think he is interested in me or something?"
Ava sighed, if this man was exactly as Kaya described, then what exactly attracted him to Kaya.
She had studied enough men in his class to know he would not be interested in someone like her daughter except she was useful for something but she didn't want to burst her bubble so she went along with it "of course… baby, who would not want to be partners with my sweet baby"
Kaya giggled "Mom, where are you. You have to come help me pack. I would also show that bitch Madeline what being with the top is like. I can just imagine her watching me and crying herself to sleep".
The mother and daughter laughed for a little while before Ava hung up.
Madeline opened her eyes as sunlight seeped through the curtains, she looked around before realising she was in her apartment. Remembering Zachary downstairs, she quickly freshened up and headed down.
On the table was breakfast with a smiley face, she looked around and Zachary was gone. She opened the flask. It was a standard English breakfast. She smiled at the thought of Zachary preparing this but saw the smiley face note and came back to reality. It was Simon. Well at least he was instructed by Zachary. "It's the thought that counts".
Just then, the landline rang. It was Jake urging her to come to the office before heading to the promotional shoot site. She acknowledged and headed out.
Ian stared at Madeline's back as she rushed out. Kaya had told him how different Madeline had been acting but he always dismissed it.
Since the day she beat him up, he had been waiting for her apology possibly with an expensive gift but none had come his way instead she seemed less unaware of his presence and yesterday he saw Zachary coming over.
Madeline had told him this was her hiding place from Zachary but now she invited him over, which means their marriage was now being steered in the right direction. Ian frowned, he didn't want that. Madeline was his and he was going to make sure of that.
He made a call to Ava giving her the usual daily reports on Madeline. "Someone came over last night, it was too dark to see his face but I saw them getting quite intimate".
Ava quickly responded "did you get a picture?"
"No…it's was too dark and I didn't want them to know I saw."
Ava took a deep breath "Ian, I need blackmail material on Madeline. Whatever it is that would make a big wave and put her in check, I need it. If you get it for me, you get a fifty grand how does that sound?"
Ian's eyes widened at the amount Ava was offering, he hadn't seen that amount of money in a while and he was getting pretty strapped for cash. But he pretended to hesitate "ermm…"
"One hundred" Ava sensed his hesitation and immediately upped the price.
Ian swallowed hard "... Deal".
Ava smiled she was confident in Ian's ability if not she would not have offered such high price also if any thing goes wrong it's all on Ian. So now all she would do is sit down and reap the benefits.
After the call, Ian looked at Madeline's door before muttering "Don't blame me… just blame your bad luck".
Madeline got to the company soon enough. She pushed the door open to see Jake in his full CEO's mode with two others. A man and a woman.
The woman sized Madeline from up to down. Disdain evident in her tone "Good morning princess".
Stefan hurriedly stood up and gave a little bow "Good morning".
Madeline nodded at him but ignored her, went straight to the chair opposite Jake and sat down. Jake smiled "Don't be so hostile this morning". He pointed at the man and woman
"That's Stefan. He would be your partner for the show and that's Rosa his agent".
"Agent?"
"Yes, anyways the promotional shoot starts by noon and today is only for the Mains so…"
"Mains?" Madeline asked
"Oh… the variety show, had Mains and subs. The mains get invited on the show and they bring partners which are the subs. There are 5 mains and 4 subs. Madeline all the Mains are top artistes so I expect you to behave"
"Yh… yh"
Rosa frowned at her reply "President, I don't think it's a good idea for Stefan to be on this show, he is still relatively new to the industry and I am sure the company has other talents they want to nurture"
Madeline cut in "why, because he would be going with me?"
"I didn't say that. I am just saying Stefan just debuted and his career is stable right now so it's best he does not go on a variety show filled with top artistes".
"What do you think Stefan?" Jake asked
"I think it's fine. He turned to Rosa before continuing"I understand your concerns but this is a good thing for me. I will be careful and President don't worry I will look after Miss Madeline"
Madeline raised her eyebrow at his confidence before winking provocatively at Rosa. Rosa gritted her teeth. She had finally scouted a good seedling but now the president was trying to use him as a stepping stone for his sister.
"The shoot for the subs is tomorrow at noon. Be sure to get there on time".
Now that all that is settled, Stefan and Rosa you can leave. He then took out a key throwing it on his desk "Stop taking a cab here every time"
Madeline smiled as she picked up the car key giving a 90 degree now "Thank you President Myers" as she headed out.
"Where are you going it's barely 9am. The shoot doesn't start until noon"
"I know I have to take care of something. I will be back before the shoot".
