Chapter 16 - chapter 16: number one fan trouble

She looked at me and said, "Are you serious?" into the phone, and I was fighting not to laugh at her reaction.

I glanced at her, and she glared right back at me. I can't believe Minho wants to laugh right now, I thought. His number one fan is saying she wants to come over… ahh, why is today so bad?

"What's the time now, Soheon? Are you listening to me?" Yuna asked on the other side of the line.

"If I finish what I'm doing early, I'll come by," she said.

Please don't finish early… don't even finish at all, I thought.

"Are you okayg?" Yuna asked again.

How will I be okay now? I'm literally holding a wanted individual at my house… for money!

"If you're still upset about the number thing, I can send it to aunt's phone now, since yours is still charging," Yuna said, trying to coax me.

"I'm not angry. Why would I be, when the dude is at my house? Heh," I thought.

"You hear that?" she said.

"Yeah, come over. You're always welcome," I replied.

"What are you hiding, Yuna?" she finally asked.

"Nothing. What would I possibly be hiding?" I said.

"You're speaking fancy… so you must be hiding something," Yuna concluded.

"I'm not," I tried to convince her.

"When I come, I'll see," she said, and ended the call.

I looked at Minho and said, "We're doomed… I mean, I'm doomed."

The smile on his face vanished instantly, replaced by concern.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I'm going to be poor now," she said, glaring at me.

What I said? Really? I thought. Is this what she's complaining about?

"Don't you think it's a serious matter?" she added, still looking at me.

"So serious," I muttered, standing up.

"By the way," I asked, trying to distract myself, "when is your boyfriend coming back? And… when are we going?"

"Ending of the week, and that's next tomorrow. So, for the meantime, you stay in the guest room over there," she said, pointing, and I followed her line of sight.

"Wait… aren't you worried Yuna is coming?" she finally asked.

"So then I'll just wear a mask," I said, heading to the room. I was exhausted.

"I'm talking to you, and you're just walking off?" she called, standing up with her hands on her hips.

I reached the door and turned back. "I'll pay you extra."

"Yes, sir," I heard her mutter.

I sighed, gave the door a slight push, and slammed it with a bang.
