Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Empress's Decree

The sky over Shanghai was no longer dark. As I hovered ten thousand feet above the city, my golden wings spanned so wide they blocked the stars. The 'Void Heart' was now pulsing inside me, every beat sending a ripple of golden energy through the clouds.

Below, the city was in chaos. Thousands of citizens were looking up, their phones recording the celestial event. The Xiao Family's warships were already scrambling, their red lights blinking like angry eyes in the night.

"Li Xian," Xiao Yan whispered, his hand still gripped in mine. "They are going to fire everything they have. The Global Council has declared you a 'World-Class Threat'."

"Let them fire," I replied, my voice calm but loud enough to be heard by every living soul in the city. "The era of hidden corruption is over."

I raised my right hand. The violet and gold energy of the Void condensed into a massive, shimmering halo behind my head.

"People of Shanghai!" my voice boomed, echoed by every electronic screen in the city—from the smallest smartphone to the giant billboards on the skyscrapers. "For decades, the 'Heroes' you worshipped have fed on your life force. They built their utopia on your shadows. Today, that debt is cancelled."

I flicked my wrist.

SHHH-BOOM!

A wave of golden light washed over the city. It didn't destroy buildings. Instead, it short-circuited every weapon, every spy camera, and every 'Energy Harvester' owned by the Xiao Family.

"From this moment on," I continued, my golden eyes glowing with a terrifying brilliance, "Shanghai is a Free Zone. There are no Heroes. There are no Villains. There is only the Empress's Law. Any who attempt to reclaim this city by force will be erased from existence."

Suddenly, a fleet of twelve 'God-Slayer' heavy cruisers emerged from the clouds, surrounding us. Their cannons were glowing bright blue, charging for a synchronized strike.

10... 9... 8...

The vision showed the cruisers firing simultaneously, creating a heat-zone that would vaporize any living thing. But it also showed a flaw—their energy was still linked to the old 'Void Network' that I now controlled.

3... 2... 1...

"Disconnected," I whispered.

Before they could fire, I closed my fist. The twelve massive warships didn't explode. They simply de-materialized, turning into harmless golden petals that drifted down onto the city like a beautiful, silent snowstorm.

I looked at Xiao Yan, who was staring at me in total awe.

"The War has just begun, Yan," I said, looking toward the horizon where more lights were appearing. "The Global Council won't stop until I'm dead. But first, they have to reach my throne."The golden petals of the dismantled warships continued to drift over the neon streets of Shanghai like a silent, glowing snow. I descended from the heavens, my 175cm frame radiating a heat that pushed the clouds aside. My golden wings, once a symbol of my struggle, were now the banners of a new era.

I landed softly on the observation deck of the Eclipse Tower. Xiao Yan landed beside me, his blue lightning blade finally sheathed, though his eyes remained wary.

"You've started a war with the entire world, Li Xian," he said, looking at the flickering holograms of world leaders appearing on the city's giant screens. "The Wei Clan was just the beginning. The Global Martial Council will send their Saints next."

"Then let them come to me," I replied. My voice was amplified by the 'Void Heart,' carrying across every district. "For too long, the people of this city were treated as batteries for the elite. No more."

I slammed my foot onto the deck. A ripple of golden energy surged down the tower, spreading across the ground like a wildfire. It seeped into the foundations of every building, every bridge, and every home.

"I am Li Xian," I declared to the cameras. "Daughter of Li Meifeng. Today, I reclaim my father's honor and this city's soul. From this moment, Shanghai is no longer under the Council's jurisdiction. Any citizen who seeks refuge is under my protection. Any who seek to oppress will answer to my wings."

Suddenly, a massive holographic face appeared in the sky, ten times larger than any building. It was High-Overseer Zhang, the leader of the Global Council.

"Li Xian! You have committed high treason against the Martial Order!" Zhang's voice was like grinding stone. "Surrender the Void Heart and the Golden Key, or we will erase Shanghai from the map."

I looked up at the giant face, a cold smile playing on my lips. I raised my hand, and the Golden Key—the DNA resonance in my blood—shone with a brilliance that blinded the holographic sensors.

"Zhang," I whispered, yet my voice drowned out his roar. "You aren't talking to a criminal anymore. You are talking to the Empress of the Void. If you want my city, come and take it from the dirt."

I snapped my fingers, and the giant hologram of the Overseer shattered into a billion digital fragments. The war hadn't just begun; I had just finished the opening move. The golden barrier, the 'Golden Sanctuary', now pulsed around the borders of Shanghai like a living heartbeat. I stood on the edge of the Eclipse Tower, the wind whipping my silver hair. Below, the city was silent, caught between terror and hope.

"They are coming, Li Xian," Xiao Yan said, standing behind me. He wasn't looking at the city; he was looking at the horizon, where the sea met the sky. "The Global Martial Council has released the 'Black Fleet'. And leading them is someone you know."

"Who?" I asked, my golden wings flickering with a dangerous violet spark.

"Commander Zhao," Xiao Yan whispered. "The man who signed the execution order for your father, Imtiyaz."

My blood turned to ice. The name 'Imtiyaz' wasn't just a memory; it was a scar on my soul. My father had been a man of honor in a world of snakes. Zhao hadn't just killed him; he had tried to erase his name from history.

"Then today, Zhao learns that ghosts don't stay buried," I growled.

Suddenly, the sky darkened. Huge, metallic warships painted in matte black began to descend through the clouds. These weren't standard cruisers; they were Soul-Eaters, ships designed to drain the Qi out of an entire city.

A massive hologram of Commander Zhao appeared over the harbor. He looked old, his face scarred, wearing the white-and-gold uniform of the Council.

"Li Xian!" Zhao's voice boomed. "You are just like your father, Imtiyaz. Stubborn, foolish, and obsessed with 'Justice.' I broke him ten years ago, and I will break you today. Surrender the Void Heart, or I will turn Shanghai into a graveyard."

I didn't reply with words. I spread my wings and launched myself into the sky, a golden streak of light cutting through the darkness.

10... 9... 8...

The vision showed Zhao activating a 'Gravity Well' on his lead ship, intended to crush my bones the moment I got close.

3... 2... 1...

I didn't slow down. I channeled every bit of the 'Golden Key' into my right fist. As I hit the gravity field, I didn't break—I shattered the field itself. The golden energy around me turned into a physical spear.

"For Imtiyaz!" I screamed, my voice vibrating with the power of a thousand suns.

I punched the reinforced hull of the lead warship. The impact was so great that the massive vessel buckled in the middle, snapping like a dry twig. A massive explosion of gold and violet fire consumed the ship, lighting up the entire coast of China.

I hovered in the center of the fire, untouched, looking directly at Zhao's horrified hologram.

"My father's name was Imtiyaz," I said, my voice cold enough to freeze the ocean below. "And his daughter is your nightmare."
