Sitting outside the room he just fought in,
Neves sighed.
Just a moment ago, he was woken up by the system.
A weird thing to happen, as the system never did this at first at all, but in that system notification it said:
[ Stats has been sacrificed to recover from your injury. ]
By the time he realized, his wounds were healed, but his body had gone weaker than before.
Although he was glad that the system did save him, it could have at least told him what stats he lost, since he doesn't even know much about them.
Now, waiting for the system panel to appear, Neves waited for it so he could put the crystal he got from the golden snail.
Maybe because he destroyed the shell before killing it, that when the snail popped out of existence, its shell remained, leaving him with it.
"I can finally earn actual money," he murmured, thinking about selling it.
In the end, the things he got from this single fight are: a skill book, a mana crystal, a ring, and finally its shell.
Each one carries different worth from each other, and each will help him greatly.
"...!"
Not expecting the system to suddenly appear, Neves grabbed the crystal he got and looked at it.
Unlike the ones he's been getting all this time, colors different from red, green, blue, and sometimes white; this one was colored in gold and purple.
He thought it might give a different result. Although he wanted to sell this, he wanted to find out.
Would reaching 100% energy do something?
Thinking so, he fed the crystal to the system, closing his eyes, not wanting to see the % number of it go up and suddenly stop, then —
[ Congratulations! ]
"What?" he uttered, confused by it, opening his eyes to see the panel.
[ The system energy has increased by 150%. ]
[ New privileges and unlocking one function in the system is now possible. ]
Before he knew it, his eyes were almost popping out of their sockets, not expecting this to happen.
[ Item equipment restriction has been partially neutralized. ]
Hearing that, he stood up quickly and looked around, pinching himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
Did the system really tell him that one of his restrictions has been lifted?
He read the system again. It did, and the system wasn't lying to him.
"Haha," he laughed, thinking how stupid it was to be happy from something like this.
"One of my restrictions is being lowered!" he yelled, reading the system panel again.
This was truly a celebration he needed to have.
One of the reasons why Neves didn't have anything on him was because he couldn't use anything from this world at all.
As this world is truly gamified to the root of it.
Example, even the normal clothes people wear have stats in them, ranging from 1–3.
Because of this, he couldn't wear anything this world has to offer, and the clothes he has on — the ones he brought into this world with him — are the only things he can wear.
Now with that gone, he can use new clothes and even have a weapon now.
[ Meal restrictions has been partially lifted.
You can now have 2 meals a day. ]
He froze. His fingers trembled as he reread the words.
Two meals. It was small, but a great difference between before.
Now he doesn't have to go hungry the entire day. Most of all?
He can now appreciate the food the sister in the church will give, without him running away and throwing them up.
With this, he can eat either breakfast and dinner, or lunch and dinner. A blessing he was willing to worship if he needed to.
Finally, the last gift of the system.
[ You may now be allowed to choose which function of the system can be used. ]
He looked at his status window. There was no need to think about it — he knew what he wanted to unlock.
The moment he pressed which one he wanted to unlock, the system disappeared and reappeared; this time with a new look.
Not too different from before, but different.
[ Status. ]
Name:
Level: 0.
Class: Unavailable.
Stats: ??? Not available at the moment.
Skills: Nothing.
Titles: ? Impossible to have.
Talent:
Energy left: 60.4%.
Looking at the level section, it now had a zero on it instead of an em dash, then —
[ Note: The level up function cannot be used unless you unlock the experience points function. ]
"The what now?" he said in disbelief, seeing the panel.
"Then what do I do?!" he yelled at the system, his mind already breaking apart from the note it gave.
Then, before he knew it, a system panel appeared behind him, back in the room he fought the golden snail in.
In the shattered shell of it, a panel said: [ ↓ ]
The system was asking him to feed the snail shell into it. Thinking about it, Neves remembered.
What the system wants is not the item or crystal, but what's inside of them — which is mana.
Since the snail was able to place mana into it to make it light up, shouldn't it have mana too?
With a broken spirit, having to throw away his future money he should have gotten from selling the shell, Neves fed it into the system.
[ Congratulations! ]
The same thing appeared once again.
[ Item equipment and meal restrictions have been fully lifted. ]
[ You may now equip as many items as you want and have as many meals as you want. ]
[ You may now choose which system functions to unlock. ]
Without hesitation, he pressed his level section on the system, revealing the hidden experience points section on it.
[ Congratulations! ]
[ Level up and experience points function has been lifted. ]
[ You can now gain experience points and level up. ]
[ Due to the stats and skills sections not being available, ]
[ You will not gain any skills and stat increases by leveling up. ]
Still in the crouching position, Neves looked at his status window and sighed.
"At least now I can go to the lower floor and get better mana crystal drops there," standing up and grabbing the book and ring he left outside.
Although the system did heal him, he was still pretty wrecked, as his clothes and himself were covered in blood.
Although he didn't really care about it that much, he wasn't going to let it get worse.
So, he decided to leave the dungeon early today and planned to go to a bathhouse to clean up.
"If I sell this skill book in the guild, I should earn a good amount of money," he said, tapping his boots and making his way outside the dungeon.
