Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: I, Tohsaka Rin, Want to Become a Magic God—Berserker, I Choose You!

On a bustling street, two cute little girls were walking happily hand in hand. Passersby who saw their pure smiles couldn't help but let a slight smile grace their own lips.

Behind the girls, a blond young man in a black coat followed them lazily with a bored pout. It was Gilgamesh, who had been told by Rin early that morning to go and recruit his own guards.

Unable to stand the noisy environment and the idiotic stares of the passersby, Gilgamesh asked Rin.

"Little girl, is this what you meant by recruiting guards?"

Rin, who was happily shopping with Sakura, heard Gilgamesh's words and turned around to look at him with a stern face.

"Am I not taking the King to inspect his own subjects and territory?"

"Hmph, little girl, no need for sarcasm. My kingdom and subjects have long since turned to dust. You're the one inspecting your own territory, you who want to become a Magic God... Tohsaka Rin."

Tohsaka Rin's pupils shrank, and she quickly put on an innocent face.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"All the Worlds Treasures—it's not that I don't have it as you think, I just turned it off because it's boring. Do you understand, Tohsaka Rin?"

"What did you see?"

Gilgamesh looked at the anxious Rin, tilted his head, and a smirk actually appeared on his face as he spoke.

"I'll tell you in ten years. Now, can we go see that mad dog? I can't wait to see him bow down before me."

Rin stood rooted to the spot. Ten years later? So in the end, I didn't resolve all the worlds evils in this Holy Grail War? This damn Gold Flashy is even keeping me in suspense.

Rin stopped talking, went to the roadside, reached out to hail a taxi, and opened the front passenger door first.

"king of heroes, after you."

Gilgamesh ignored the strange looks from the surrounding passersby and sat in the taxi with a swagger.

As Rin and Sakura sat in the back seat and closed the door, the young driver said to Gilgamesh with a smile.

"Sir, you seem to have a great relationship with your sisters. Your sister even opened the door for you. Unlike the one at my house... sigh, I can't even get a word out of her for days. By the way, where are you headed?"

Gilgamesh turned to look at Rin in the back seat. Seemingly thinking of something, he rolled his eyes and looked out the window. Then Rin gave the address, and the taxi slowly started moving.

Noon.

Matou Residence. Kariya Matou, who had been wandering aimlessly outside all morning, returned to the Matou Residence, which should have been empty. His older brother, Tsuruno Matou, had already run off to a neighboring city with his nephew Shinji Matou a month before the Holy Grail War began. As for Zouken Matou, he hadn't appeared since the first day of the Holy Grail War.

When Kariya Matou arrived at the entrance, three pairs of shoes—one large and two small—caught his eye. Kariya Matou clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, thinking: Could that fellow Zouken Matou have violated the agreement and kidnapped Aoi, Tohsaka Rin, and Sakura Tohsaka? No, those are men's shoes, and the size isn't right for that old guy Zouken at all.

Unable to figure it out, Kariya Matou cautiously summoned Berserker and stepped into the Matou Residence.

Arriving quickly at the hall, Kariya Matou was stunned to see Tohsaka Rin and Sakura Tohsaka sitting on the sofa watching TV. Beside them stood a blue-haired woman constantly trying to feed Tohsaka Rin, while not far away, a blond man holding a glass of red wine lay lazily on the sofa, staring boredly at the swirling wine.

As a Magus who wasn't quite a Magus, Kariya Matou might not have seen it, but Berserker knew that the two in the living room were both Servants. He immediately let out a roar and grabbed a nearby table lamp. As Knight of Owner took effect, the entire lamp was covered in eerie patterns, transforming into a D-rank Noble Phantasm.

"Stop, Berserker."

Kariya Matou hurriedly stopped Berserker, who was preparing to launch an attack.

"Little Rin, Little Sakura, why are you here? And who are these two?"

Rin snatched the spoon that Medea was about to shove into her mouth and casually stuffed the cake on the spoon into Sakura's mouth. Then she turned to face Kariya Matou and spoke happily.

"Uncle Kariya, you're back. These are my two Servants. Allow me to introduce them: this is the Princess of Colchis from Ancient Greece, Medea, and this is the Humanity's Oldest King, Gilgamesh. I came to see you today, Uncle Kariya, because I intend to make a deal."

"How is that possible? Little Rin, why did you become a Master? What's going on? Does Aoi know? Did that damn fellow Tokiomi force you to do this? That hateful Tokiomi actually let his own daughter do such a thing! Don't be afraid, Little Rin, Little Sakura—Uncle will protect you. Don't worry, I'm going to settle the score with Tokiomi right now." Poor Tokiomi seemed to have taken the blame for another pot.

Watching Kariya Matou grow more and more agitated as he spoke, Rin couldn't help but frown. She put on a serious little face and shouted loudly.

"Shut up! This has nothing to do with my father, and even if it did, it's none of your business. I said I came here to make a deal with you."

Interrupted by Rin's shout, Kariya Matou seemed to regain his composure. He quietly observed the Rin before him, feeling for the first time how foreign the world of magi was to him. Then, with a distorted expression, he asked,

"Rin, what kind of deal do you intend to make?"

Noticing that her sister no longer wanted to communicate with Kariya Matou, Sakura put down her spoon and stood up. She slowly approached Kariya Matou, ignoring the frenzied Berserker beside him, and looked up into Kariya Matou's eyes.

"Uncle Kariya, my sister has come as a Master of the Holy Grail War. Just yesterday evening, Zouken Matou already attacked us, but he was eliminated by sister's Assassin and Caster. We found you today because sister believes that no matter the reason, Uncle Kariya, you would never voluntarily participate in the Holy Grail War. Therefore, it's only possible if you reached some kind of deal with Zouken Matou. Now that Zouken Matou is dead, we believe there's no need for you to participate in the Holy Grail War anymore. Sister and I hope you will hand over your Servant, and in return, we will help you rid yourself of the Crest Worms inside your body. Uncle Kariya, what is your decision?"

Kariya Matou was stunned at first, but when he heard that Zouken Matou was dead, he excitedly crouched down, grabbed Sakura's shoulders, and asked urgently,

"That old guy is dead? And he was killed by a Servant while attacking you? Sakura, is this true?"

Magical energy flashed on Sakura's arm as she used Reinforcement Magic to calmly push Kariya Matou's hands away. She said indifferently,

"That's right. So, Uncle Kariya, what is your decision?"

"Hahahahahahahaha! That old guy is dead! Hahaha, great, he's finally dead! No problem, Rin, Sakura, take whatever you want. Hahaha, he's finally dead!"

Rin looked at the almost insane Kariya Matou and couldn't help but wonder if the entire Matou Family was mentally ill. Then she turned her head and signaled Medea to get to work.
