The world was in a state of silent terror. In a high-stakes emergency meeting at the Interpol headquarters, the air was thick with tension. Fifty criminals, all across the globe, had died of heart attacks within a single week.
"This is not a coincidence," one official shouted. "This is mass murder. We need help from the only person who can solve this... we need L."
[Scene 2: The Trap is Set]
In his room, Light Yagami watched the television with a cold grin. Suddenly, the broadcast was interrupted. A man appeared on the screen: Lind L. Tailor.
"I am L," the man declared. "Kira, what you are doing is not justice. It is pure, cowardly murder. I will find you!"
[Scene 3: The Fatal Mistake]
Light laughed. He grabbed his pen and wrote 'Lind L. Tailor' in the Death Note. Exactly forty seconds later, the man on the screen clutched his chest and collapsed, dead.
[Scene 4: The Counter-Strike]
But then, the screen flickered. The image was replaced by a gothic letter L.
"I... don't believe it," a distorted voice said. "Kira, that man was a criminal scheduled for execution today. This broadcast was only aired in the Kanto region of Japan. I know where you are now, Kira."
[Scene 5: Declaration of War]
Light stood in stunned silence. L had lured him into a trap.
"I will find you, Kira," L's voice echoed.
Light gripped his desk, a predatory smile forming. "Try it, L. I'll find you first. I am Justice!"
