The night felt off. Mr.Nobody moved through a narrow street, his body reacting faster than his thoughts.A punch landed, a shadow fell, and another man rushed at him.But he was already there, already moving. It was too smooth, too precise, like it wasn't really him. Like something else was guiding every step. "…No…" he muttered under his breath. The men around him began to blur, their faces losing shape. The streetlights flickered, stretching and bending unnaturally. Something was wrong. Very wrong. One of them lunged at him, and he countered instantly, landing a clean hit. But the moment his fist connected, everything stopped. Completely. The man froze mid-air, sound vanished, even the wind disappeared. Mr.Nobody stood still, his eyes scanning the frozen scene. "…What now…?"
Then he heard it.A voice. Soft. Familiar. "…Bye bye, Mr.Nobody." His body stiffened instantly as the world shifted around him.
He was back on the train. The same moment. Toma stood near the door, holding the rail lightly, wearing that same faint, sorrowful smile. "…Bye, Mr.Nobody." This time, it felt heavier, like something was ending. "No!wait...." he tried to move, but nothing happened. His body refused to respond. Once again, he could only watch. Then a cold voice cut through everything. [System] The writers are resetting the user's world. "…What?" His thoughts shook. Resetting? "No....wait....what does that mean?!" The world cracked. The train bent unnaturally, like paper being torn apart. Toma's figure flickered, fading away. "…Don't go...." But it was too late. Everything turned white.
Mr.Nobody woke up sharply. "…Hah…!" His chest rose and fell quickly as he looked around. A dark room. Silent. Normal. "…A dream…?" he muttered, sitting still for a moment. But it didn't feel like a dream. It felt like something he wasn't supposed to see. "…What the hell was that…?" His mind replayed everything...the fight, the frozen world, Toma, the message. Resetting the user's world. "…Writers…" he whispered, his fingers tightening slightly. "And why… her again…?" Even in a dream, she appeared clearly. Real. Unforgettable. "…This is getting weird."
By the time day came, the park was quiet. A soft wind moved through the trees as people passed by without noticing anything unusual. Mr.Nobody sat alone on a bench, just like always, his gaze drifting without purpose. Nothing changed. Nothing ever did. Then he noticed her—a girl walking toward him, holding a bright red rose. "…Huh…" he murmured as a strange thought crossed his mind. Is she… coming to me? He straightened slightly. No way. But she kept walking, getting closer, step by step, heading right toward him. His chest tightened. For a brief moment, hope flickered. Then she walked past him without even looking. Mr.Nobody blinked and slowly turned his head. She stopped in front of another man, smiled, and handed him the rose. "Here." The man laughed. "Thanks." They stood together, talking like they belonged in the same world....a normal scene, one he wasn't part of.Mr.Nobody looked away, lowering his head slightly. "…What did I expect…she was going to propose me?...." A quiet breath left him."I'm just an NPC."His fingers tapped lightly against his knee. "The writers don't even consider me important… not even as a background character."
Silence settled around him, familiar and heavy. Then a light tap landed on his shoulder. Mr.Nobody froze and slowly turned. "…Huh?" Toma stood there, holding two cone ice creams. "…Hi," she said. For a moment, he didn't react. Then,"…Toma?" She smiled. "Yeah." She held one ice cream toward him. "Here." His hand moved almost automatically as he took it. "…How did you find me?" he asked. Toma tilted her head slightly. "Find you? It's just coincidence."
A little earlier, she had been walking through the park when her eyes casually moved across the benches....then stopped. "…Wait…" Someone sat there. Familiar. "…Isn't that… Mr.Nobody?" She looked again. "…Yeah." Then she noticed the nearby ice cream truck. "Uncle, two cone ice creams please."
Back in the present, Mr.Nobody stared at the ice cream in his hand, still confused. Can I really… talk like this? It didn't feel real, but she was right there beside him. "…Hey," Toma said. He looked at her as she pointed at the ice cream. "Eat it. It's melting." He blinked. "…Oh." He took a bite. It was cold, sweet, real. Toma watched him, then smiled, and for some reason, that smile hit him harder than anything. His face warmed slightly. "…Why am I…" He looked away, embarrassed, even without a face. "…You're strange," he said quietly. Toma raised an eyebrow. "Me?" "…Yeah… but not in a bad way." She laughed softly. "Well… you're even stranger, Mr.Nobody."
The wind passed between them, but this time it didn't feel distant. For once, he wasn't just part of the background. He was here, talking, existing, with someone who could actually see him. And maybe things were starting to change.....even if the world didn't like it.
