Chapter 7 - The Feeling He Didn’t Understand

The car had stopped.

The gates of Royal Blue Villa slowly opened, and Dhruv stepped out—but his mind was still somewhere else.

Not in the villa.

Not in his world.

But in a classroom… where a girl sat quietly, hiding a storm inside her.

---

An Unfamiliar Restlessness

"Dhruv?"

Rudra's voice pulled him back.

He was standing near the staircase, watching his younger brother with a slight frown.

"You've been zoning out since you came back. What's going on?"

Dhruv blinked, forcing a casual expression.

"Nothing."

Rudra raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing doesn't look like this."

Dhruv sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"It's just… weird."

"What is?"

Dhruv hesitated.

He didn't even know how to explain it.

How do you describe a feeling you've never felt before?

---

The Confusion of the Heart

"I saw someone today," Dhruv finally said.

Rudra leaned slightly against the wall, folding his arms.

"And?"

"She looked… normal. Like always. But today… she wasn't."

Rudra didn't interrupt.

"She was quiet. Lost. Like something was wrong… really wrong."

Dhruv's voice slowed.

"And I couldn't ignore it."

Rudra's expression softened slightly.

"Who is she?"

Dhruv looked away.

"That's the problem."

A pause.

"I don't even know her properly."

Rudra almost smiled.

So this is where it begins…

---

A Brother Who Already Knew

Rudra walked closer.

"Let me guess," he said calmly.

"You couldn't focus on anything else the whole day."

Dhruv stayed silent.

"You kept thinking about her."

"Wondering what's wrong."

"Feeling irritated that you don't know how to help."

Dhruv looked up, surprised.

"How do you—"

Rudra smirked faintly.

"I've been there."

---

A Story Waiting to Be Told

Dhruv's eyes lit up instantly.

"You mean… your first love?"

Rudra's smile faded.

Not completely.

But enough to reveal something deeper.

"Don't get excited," he said, turning away.

"It's not a happy story."

Dhruv quickly moved in front of him.

"I don't care. You promised—you'll tell me everything."

Rudra exhaled slowly.

For a moment, he looked like he was deciding whether to open a door he had kept closed for years.

Then his gaze shifted toward the table.

Toward the notebook.

Monika.

His fingers tightened slightly.

And just like that…

The past came rushing back.

---

Flashback – Years Ago (Class 10)

Rudra wasn't always the calm, composed businessman people saw today.

There was a time…

When he was just a boy.

Carefree.

Reckless.

And completely unaware of how deeply he could feel.

It was his 10th grade.

New school.

New faces.

New beginnings.

And then…

There was her.

---

The First Glance

She wasn't the loudest in the class.

Not the most popular.

Not the kind who tried to grab attention.

And yet…

She did.

Without even trying.

Monika.

She sat near the window, sunlight often falling across her face as she quietly focused on her books.

Her handwriting was neat—almost artistic.

Her voice soft—but clear.

And her presence…

Calm.

Rudra didn't notice it at first.

Or maybe he did…

But ignored it.

Until one day—

---

The Moment That Changed Everything

"Rudra, can you pass that notebook?"

He looked up.

She was standing beside his desk.

For a second…

He forgot what she asked.

Her eyes met his.

Simple. Honest.

No pretense.

"No—uh… yeah," he stammered, handing it over.

She smiled.

"Thank you."

And walked away.

That was it.

A small moment.

Barely a few seconds.

But somehow…

It stayed.

---

From Curiosity to Something More

After that, Rudra started noticing things.

Her laugh.

Her silence.

The way she tucked her hair behind her ear while studying.

The way she helped others without expecting anything back.

And slowly…

Without realizing it—

She became a part of his everyday thoughts.

He never spoke much to her.

Never tried to get close.

But he watched.

From a distance.

Silently.

---

The Love He Never Confessed

Days turned into months.

Feelings grew.

But words…

Never came.

Rudra wasn't the kind to express emotions easily.

And maybe…

He didn't want to risk losing even the little connection they had.

So he kept it hidden.

Deep inside.

Where no one could see.

No one could question.

No one could take it away.

---

Back to Present

"…and that's it."

Rudra's voice brought everything back to the present.

Dhruv blinked.

"That's it?!" he exclaimed.

"You never told her?!"

Rudra shook his head.

"No."

"Why?!"

Rudra looked at him calmly.

"Not every story needs to be completed."

Dhruv frowned.

"That doesn't make sense."

Rudra gave a faint smile.

"It will. Someday."

---

The Realization

Dhruv sat down slowly.

His mind was spinning.

"So… what should I do?"

Rudra looked at him.

"For now?"

A pause.

"Nothing."

Dhruv groaned.

"That's the worst advice ever."

Rudra chuckled lightly.

"Just understand what you're feeling first."

"And if it's real?"

Dhruv asked.

Rudra's eyes softened slightly.

"Then you won't need advice."

---

Two Stories, One Beginning

That night—

Two different hearts were restless.

One… remembering a love that was never spoken.

The other… trying to understand a feeling that had just begun.

And somewhere far away…

A girl named Monika was fighting a battle she didn't choose.

While Lakshmi silently carried fear beyond her age.

And unknowingly…

Their lives were slowly moving toward a point—

Where everything would collide.
