The Healer's Revenge...]
The snow around Dante just melted away. It turned into a thick mist that hissed like it was angry. Dante looked at Mina the girl he had treated badly and he felt a deep fear that made his blood run cold. He was an Alpha. He was scared of her.
"Mina stay away from her " Dante said, trying to sound tough. His voice wasn't strong as it usually was. "She is a monster. She has made a deal with the Abyss. She will drag you down with her."
Mina didn't move. She walked over to Elara, who was hurt and bleeding and her white-silver hair shone like a star that had fallen from the sky. The big white wolf behind her the Sentinel showed its teeth, which looked like pieces of glass.
"She didn't drag me down " Mina said, her voice. Strong. "She helpedme.. You, Dante you're the one who hurt her."
Dante jumped at Mina. She didn't move until it was almost too late. Then she raised her hand and a shield of light appeared, protecting her from Dantes attack.
Dantes claws hit the shield. Broke. He cried out in pain. Stumbled back his skin burning from the holy light.
"My sister spent her life helping people like you " Mina said, stepping forward. "She used her hands to heal your wounds while you used yours to hurt others."
The white wolf behind Mina moved forward turning into a streak of light. It didn't bite Dante. It went through him and he just stood there frozen. His golden eyes went wide. Then they lost their light. He didn't scream. He just stood there until his body turned to ash and disappeared.
The other Alphas in the trees didn't wait to see what would happen next. They. Ran, their tails between their legs afraid of Mina.
Mina fell to her knees the light fading from her hair. She was tired. Had trouble breathing. She crawled over to Elara. Pulled her sisters head into her lap.
"Elara wake up!" Mina said.
Elara opened her eyes. They were no longer violet but a dull brown. She looked at Mina. Then she looked at the empty space where Dante had stood. She felt lighter. The weight of the Abyss was gone.
"You did it " Elara whispered, a smile, on her lips.
Mina. Hugged her tight. "I had to " she said. ". Your power is gone. Lucian said—"
Elara didn't care about her power. "I have my sister back " she said, touching Minas cheek.
Lucian walked into the crater clapping his hands softly. "This is a reunion " he said. ". We have a problem. The Silver Hand Council has declared a Holy Crusade. They're coming to kill every wolf, every demon and especially the two sisters who started this mess."
The sky was turning a gold and Elara looked at her human hands. She was weak and dying.
"I can't run like this " Elara said. "If they're coming I need to be what I was. I need to be the Monarch."
Mina didn't want Elara to do that. "It'll kill you for real this time " she said. "You'll lose your soul."
Lucian leaned in his eyes flashing red. "There's another way " he said. "You can heal the Abyss itself. You can become the Life-Giver of the Dead.. To do that you need the First Alphas Heart, which is hidden in the Silver Hands Cathedral."
Elara stood up leaning on Mina for support. She looked at the horizon, where the golden light of the Crusade was rising.
"The Silver Hand wants a war?" Elara said, her voice strong and scary again. "Fine. They've spent centuries hunting wolves. It is time they learned what it is like to be hunted by a Healer who has run out of mercy."
She looked at Mina at Lucian.
"We're going to the Cathedral " Elara said. ". I am going to take their hearts and turn them into the darkness they fear."
