That night, Tina did not sleep.
His words kept echoing in her mind:
"The one who came back… is not the one who left."
She sat on her bed, staring into the darkness, while her phone lay beside her, showing the last message he had sent her three years ago.
"Wait for me."
She had laughed bitterly back then.
"Wait for you? For what?"
But now… he had returned.
And worse, he was no longer the same.
The next day, unable to resist her curiosity, she left the house and headed to the place he had told her he was staying.
She stopped in front of the building.
Something felt wrong.
The uneasiness creeping into her heart was not just nervousness… it was fear.
She climbed the stairs slowly until she reached the door.
She hesitated.
Then she knocked.
One second… two…
The door opened.
Louis stood there, but this time… he was not alone.
Another man was inside, standing in the shadows, watching her silently.
She froze in place.
"Who is that?" she asked quickly.
Louis looked at her, then at the man behind him, before answering: "Work."
"What work?"
He did not reply.
But the man in the back stepped forward and smiled coldly.
"Looks like he didn't tell you everything."
Her heart seemed to fall into an empty void.
She turned to Louis. "What are you hiding?"
He suddenly stepped closer and grabbed her hand with a firmness she had never known from him.
"Leave now."
"What?"
His voice grew sharper. "Leave… before you get hurt."
She pulled her hand away. "I don't understand anything!"
But before he could speak, the other man said:
"She's in the game now."
Silence.
Then Louis looked at her with a gaze that was no longer love…
But warning.
