Chapter 17 - CHAPTER 14

Jay POV

I sat at my study table quietly, staring at the three letters in front of me.

One for my family.

One for Section E.

And one for the girls.

My hands trembled slightly as I finished writing the final words. Every sentence felt heavier than the last.

After folding the letters carefully, I kept the family's and girls' letters on my bed.

Then I picked up Section E's letter and left the house.

The drive to school felt strangely empty.

When I reached the parking area, I spotted Sir Alvin near his car. He was about to sit inside when I walked toward him.

"Jay? You're here?" he asked with concern immediately. "Is there a problem?"

I forced a small smile and shook my head.

"No, sir. Nothing's wrong. I just want to give you this letter for Section E on Monday."

I handed him the envelope.

"And one more thing… please give it during dismissal time."

Sir Alvin looked confused but nodded anyway.

"I'll give it to them. Don't worry. Anything else?"

"No, sir. Thank you. Have a nice day."

"You too, Jay."

I turned around quickly before he could notice the tears building in my eyes.

When I got home, the house felt quieter than usual.

I walked into my room and placed the remaining two letters carefully on the bed.

Then I grabbed my suitcase.

Slowly, I walked downstairs and left through the back door.

Before leaving completely, I stopped.

And looked back at the house one last time.

A soft smile appeared on my face as memories flooded my mind.

Kuya Angelo gently fixing my ear whenever I got hurt.

Tita Gema protecting me without hesitation.

Aries flicking my forehead while calling me "Koyeky."

Lola brushing my hair softly.

For one second…

I almost went back inside.

Because despite everything…

This still felt like home.

But then Jeena's words echoed inside my head again.

"You are a slut."

My smile disappeared.

I shook my head and forced my feet to move forward.

After a few minutes, I found a taxi.

I boarded it quietly.

"Bus station," I whispered.

The driver nodded and started driving.

Yes… I was going to the bus station first.

From there, I would travel to another city before boarding my flight.

That way…

They wouldn't find me easily.

When I reached the station, I waited silently until a bus finally arrived.

I got in.

And as the bus slowly moved out of the city…

I watched everything disappear from the window.

The school.

The streets.

The life I had built.

All fading away little by little.

Hours later, I finally arrived in another city and headed toward the airport.

After buying my ticket, I boarded the flight quietly.

The entire journey felt unreal.

Like I was running away from my own life.

Hours later, the plane landed.

The warm breeze welcomed me the moment I stepped outside the airport.

I took a deep breath.

Then my eyes landed on familiar figures standing nearby.

And for the first time in days…

My heart felt lighter.

A small smile appeared on my lips.

"Kuya…"

My voice broke slightly.

"I'm here."
