Renee's POV
"I think so," The chips look tasty. Why not take a bite? I'm expecting them to turn to worms but they don't.
It's not a dream.
Cam stared at me like he wanted to say something but he's waiting for me to swallow the chip. I did that exactly, finally, he spoke. "So what about your dream? What did you see?"
"A young girl for the first time, she smiled and waved at me. I did the same." I said.
"And?"
"The second showed her parents with a young boy her age, walking into the house. What's strange? The fact that it looks like our house. Thirdly I saw you guys, Anna had her eyes filled with blood. But you just smiled at me before you turned."
Anna replied immediately, "What? How? Why? Is this the first time?"
"Yes, of course, I've never had something like this before."
Cam stopped the movie from playing on his laptop. He shut it down, "We need to get some sleep right now or we get answers instead?"
Is he serious? This is partially after midnight. Just a few minutes passed, this is insane.
Anna stood, "Renee we need to look for answers, let's stay in the house and relate with the ghosts."
"What?!"
I'm already standing furiously looking at her, "This is not a joke Anna, I'm sure we've got like a few hundred souls out there. He started at fifteen, by now he should be in his fifties or early sixties if at all. Do you want a debate on this, this is dangerous."
Cam replied to me in the worst way possible, "I believe that's why we were born, to be in danger. After all, that's what life is for."
These two can't understand me one bit. If these things don't possess us then I'm sure they'll kill us, luckily if we survive, the farmer shows up.
Cam held my shoulders with dismay but trust when he looked into my eyes, "Renee we need to do this, not for dad but at least for mum. Whatever this is, it happened at the worst time but we can't run forever."
"But I need to get some sleep, you guys can go on without me." Of course, I'm not going out there at this time of the night.
"Alright, good night. We'll be at the gate, for now, I'm sure they're already moving." So they're doing this, Are they doing this?
They just leave me on the bed sitting, I need the door shut so I lock it alongside the window. Still shut. I hear the front door open, they're outside now. I can see them from the window, I see four shadows following them from behind. They don't know yet, they don't know what this is. A fifth one joins the others, but wait it stops them. They just stand and watch them.
I need to hide, I drop the curtains. Suddenly I hear a knock on the window. My heart hits my chest harder, it knocks again. I know it's the shadows, they don't see me with the other two. But why me? I can't believe it, they're trying to open up the window. Someone help!
I feel a sudden chill in my spine, my whole body turns cold just by staying still. I can feel them. I can feel them around me. I wish I walked with them instead.
The knocking stops after I stay extra silent for some time. I breathe slowly and silently. "Why do you hide?" I turn thinking it's Anna but all I see is a shadow of a woman on the wall.
I don't think answering is good by now, "Why do you hide, Renee?" Oh my freaking God! It knows my name.
"Your siblings have gone to do the right thing, why do you hide Renee?" I don't know what to say, I'm frozen and still.
The lights trigger, and when the light comes on I don't see her. I see three others with her. Where's the fourth? They echo together, "Why do you hide Renee?" The voices going together make me even more scared.
Suddenly they scream so loud when I stay silent at their question. They're so aggressive now! The laptop falls, the window still shut but I feel the cold breeze. I'm not liking any of this at all I swear. The lights trigger again, the scattered room turns to normal. The walls are the same, also no shadows or voices. I turn from left to right, I think it's time to stand up. I stand up and something stronger than my body throws me across the room. I just hit my knee on the hard floor, another flings me past the bed and I hit the wall.
I hold the bed with the little strength I'm holding on to, finally, a deeper voice says, "Leave our house, leave our house, leave our house." Everything stops, that sounded like a possessed person. The door hits itself or I'm guessing someone just knocked.
I don't stand one bit. I hear Cam's voice, "Open the door Renee quick! We don't have time!" With speed I open it up, it's him. Anna and Cam got in, and they shut the door. Cam locked the door. He rests his back on the door, he's breathing as though something chased him. Anna already stayed low to the ground.
"You are right. As much as Anna sees them as friendly, they're not. They tried to throw her into the well. And No, I saw her. But later others showed up, maybe she's calm but the others aren't. Remember others were killed and buried here too, I don't like this at all. I hate it so much. I feel like crying, I feel like running away. I didn't even know we had a well. It's at the back. It smells really bad when you're close to it, that's where the bad smell comes from." Cam said.
"What's in it?" I asked.
"What else besides dead people, all rotten? I need to breathe for now and also I need to reach Morgan by the actual morning. I still have the smell around me, I need to change my clothes". He stood, He walked close to the mirror. He turned it to the wall, He slightly hit his leg by the table close to his feet and pulls the shirt off vastly. "Anna you too, fast. I hate this stench." He said.
