Darkness blurred into shifting shadows as the surroundings slowly took shape, revealing what looked like a forest, cold and silent, with an unsettling stillness that pressed against his chest.
William's breath came out uneven as he moved through the darkness, his steps quick and unsteady, as if something was pulling him forward toward a place he didn't fully understand, yet couldn't stop himself from reaching.
Then, he stopped.
A scene unfolded right in front of him.
A woman stood there, her hand raised, gripping a knife as she faced a man who had already fallen to his knees, his condition unclear in the dim light.
"Wait… don't do that, Sera!"
William rushed forward instinctively, closing the distance without hesitation, only to feel a sharp force pierce through his chest. The impact stopped him instantly.
The woman froze.
Her face, still blurred, lifted slowly toward him, and through the faint sound of her sobbing, her voice trembled as she asked, "Why… Did you do that?"
