Northern Syria,
Denier Prosecutor's Office.
The door clicked shut behind him. A man in a dark suit and black tie entered, placing a letter on the table. His eyes lingered on the nameplate:
Prosecutor Rainier
The office felt calm, almost unnaturally so, and Rainier knew the man must be surprised at how composed he seemed despite the circumstances.
"Thanks for this," Rainier said, folding the letter and tucking it into one of his case files.
"Attorney," the suited man called out.
"Yes?" Rainier replied, looking up.
"The rural villages... they're dilapidated, ruined by those ruthless demons. How are we supposed to cope with these challenges?"
Rainier glanced away. "That's not my priority right now. At least my office and contacts are secure."
The man hesitated. "I hope this mission is as simple as you make it sound, sir."
Rainier exhaled slowly, his gaze fixed on a photo of Refel.
**********
"It's been a while, Refel." Walt's voice boomed, startling Refel so much that his heart pounded in fear and shock. Without uttering a word, Refel bolted, but Walt's powers yanked him back effortlessly.
"What do you want from me? You already took my powers. What more do you need?" Refel gasped, struggling to breathe under Walt's tight grip.
"I don't want much..."
Hidden behind the wall, Lyra listened intently to their conversation.
"...I just want you to warn your brother to stay out of demon fights."
"What? My brother? Don't you dare touch him!"
"Oh, poor urchin. You really don't see it, do you? Your brother is already on his way to rescue you, but I doubt it will be that easy..."
The squeaking of a bat echoed as Lulu flew overhead, observing the tense scene before heading back to Kurgansk.
Desperate, Refel grabbed a nearby stone and hurled it at Walt, but Walt's powers absorbed it effortlessly, leaving him unfazed.
"I'm not afraid of you," Refel declared, shifting into a fighting stance despite the sweat dripping down his body.
"I highly doubt that fear has found its way into your heart," Walt asserted, his gaze fixed intently on Refel's perspiring form.
"What exactly is that supposed to imply?" Lyra interjected as she entered, her expression hardened, bitterness etched across her features.
Both Refel and Walt turned simultaneously to face her. "I see," they responded in unison.
"You neglected to mention that you knew Refel…" Lyra remarked, her tone laden with suspicion.
"And you conveniently omitted the part where you're harboring a prisoner," Walt retorted, taking a cautious step backward.
With a sudden burst of motion, Lulu hurtled towards Walt, striking him sharply with her beak. Instantly, a swarm of ten venomous demons materialized, encircling Walt, their gnarled hands gripping tightly onto their demonic counterparts.
A malevolent voice emerged from the shadows, dripping with sinister intent. "I see." it growled. As the figure stepped into the dim light, his formidable presence became unmistakable, Kurgansk had arrived.
"Your Majesty, what is the meaning of this?" Walt demanded, his voice laced with incredulity.
Kurgansk's nostrils flared, embers of fire flickering as he glowered at Walt. "The question, Walt, is how long you've been deceiving us," he hissed.
Lyra's eyes narrowed, her voice accusing. "How long have you been lying to us, Walt?"
"Wait! You've got it all wrong! Refel is the real villain here, he's just a human. I was merely trying to intimidate him." Walt argued desperately.
Kurgansk motioned toward the demons, signaling them to subdue Walt. Though Walt fought valiantly, unleashing gusts of wind in a fierce resistance, the demons pressed on, their powers converging to suppress his strength. Seeing the struggle escalate, Kurgansk intervened, his presence alone quelling the chaotic surge.
While the tumultuous battle raged on, Lulu slipped away unnoticed, flying to the vacant palace. With all the demons occupied in capturing Walt, the grand halls remained eerily deserted.
(Suspicious tension escalates)
Suddenly, Lulu transformed into her human form, her lips curving into a wicked smile as she settled onto the throne. A dark, resonant laugh erupted from her chest.
"I am your worst nightmare, Kurgansk." Azra's voice echoed menacingly throughout the palace.
{Fade to darkness}
