~Katherine's POV
Hanith's small brows slightly furrowed as he tried to process everything. His tired eyes slowly moved across Aaron's face, almost like he was searching for something familiar in him.
I watched Hanith quietly as he stared at me, his small eyes still wet from crying but filled with something else now. It was hope. He looked between me and Jasmine again, as if trying to make sure he had heard correctly.
Jasmine was still smiling proudly beside him.
"See?" she said again excitedly. "I told you."
Hanith slowly looked back at me.
For a moment he said nothing, and I could see the question sitting clearly in his eyes.
I nodded gently.
"Jasmine is right," I said softly.
The moment those words left my mouth, Hanith's face lit up in a way I had never seen before.
"Really?" he asked, his voice suddenly louder with excitement.
"Yes," I replied, smiling at him.
"Really, really?" he asked again, just to be sure.
"Yes, really."
