Lydia's POV
The banquet hall had barely emptied when I slipped away from the lingering guests and made my way straight to Jethro's private chamber. My blood was still boiling from everything that had just happened. The way he had lifted that child high, given him a name, and then without even a warning, he announced Serah as queen. My hands shook as I pushed the heavy door open.
Jethro stood by the window, staring out into the night. He didn't turn around immediately.
"What is the meaning of what just happened out there?" I demanded, my voice shaking with anger. "First you name the child, then you go ahead and pronounce Serah as your queen? A woman with forbidden blood running through her veins, and the entire council just accepted it without question!"
