Chapter 19 - Chapter 17: Class Representative

Rei was having a great day since the day before had put him into a good spotlight rather than being in the negative side prior to the things he heard from Hinata then the duo Erika and Haruki. It wasn't that bad since most of the people were looking up to him as a role model who worked hard to achieve the talent that he possessed.

"Woah… Are people mostly like this?" Rei asked Haruki, who nodded his head. "Yup! Always excited to vote when electing a class representative." He answered before counting the people around them.

The cheerful atmosphere immediately dropped when Haru stood up, declaring himself as the top dog of the class despite the humbling defeat from the match with Rei before. "Shut up. And you'll obey my orders. I'll be the representative of this class. If there are any complaints, feel free to challenge me." He declared while most of the class were quiet except for Rei who did what he wanted.

"Didn't I humble you in our spar last time?"

His question almost broke the tension as some tried to hold on the laughs but ended up letting out a giggle which became a trigger for almost half of the class to start laughing.

"This fxcking bastard…" Haru gritted his teeth before Rei decided to suggest something bold.

"You said to challenge yourself for the spot right?" He asked which the latter just nodded his head. "Alright. Not gonna challenge you cause I'm not interested in the position… Although, she looks interested in it." Rei said as he pointed at his best friend, Sylvie who looked intrigued upon having heard enough of the things behind the position from Hinata.

Haru looked like he was offended, after all, he had pride in himself but to have a short girl challenge him of all people? Then he should put a humble gesture and pity towards the magenta haired girl. "I see…" he uttered before continuing.

"Looks like I have to humble another short stack." Haru exclaimed in which Erika had noticed Rei tensed up, as if it was someone who had gone to war.

"Uh… Are you good?" She asked in which Rei sweatdropped before replying back. "Yeah… Just praying for them to survive…" He added in which made sense for Erika since Sylvie's prowess and level haven't been revealed yet but only the results of the assessment.

"True… I hope your friend will be alright since despite her power and speed, there's still Haru with more experience than any of us aside from you." Erika stated before noticing Rei's nervous shuddering body. "Honestly… You should've helped her-" She couldn't finish her sentence as the once mighty Haru who stood so proud of himself was immediately at the end of the room.

Erika was dumbfounded, seemingly surprised and humbled as she retracted her earlier statement. "Is that why you were praying?" She asked while Rei answered with a shaky voice and a hint of fear in his words. "Yup. That's why…" he said before explaining to Erika never to mention Sylvie's height or any measurements regarding her body.

...…

After the election, the representative and vice representative of their classes ended up with Sylvie and Hinata as Rei had to explain to the duo with the reason of why he would be a bad vice representative since he had no experience with leading others and having a bad sense of responsibility despite how much he acted like someone who had a sense of responsibility.

"So, what do you guys think of our academy?" Haruki asked, all curious while the blonde and pink haired were focused on the paper in hand which would be something about their homework.

"Quite nice? Dunno…" Sylvie said as she was scrolling on her phone as usual while Rei thought deeply before giving an answer.

"I'll say it's a fresh start for me since most people would've avoided me despite my status and basically would attract every person to start a fight with me which in this place just looks at me in respect before going over to their own things."

His honest and sincere answer satisfied Haruki's question while the other two girls were just nodding their heads, interested but not showing it since everyone is busy due to being in their fifth year of the academy while Sylvie was just groaning at her schedule.

"Jeez… I have advanced algebra that's like college level in Hong Kong for the whole block after this lunch break…" Sylvie grumbled under her breath while Rei felt bad for her since he knew how much the latter would be bored without him. "How about you? What's y'all next class?" she asked while the rest answered in order which was weird but oddly impressive.

"General Education. Group A" Erika answered while looking over to her binders, checking if she had everything.

Hinata looked at her schedule before answering, "General Education. Although, I'm in group C…"

Haruki looked like he had seen god himself, "Literature… Group E…"

Rei was the only who's left as the latter checked his own schedule before raising an eyebrow as he read it to them.

"Special Extracurricular Class… Assault Division Class?" Rei mutters while the trio freezes up while Sylvie raises an eyebrow. "Wait what? You're already having extracurricular classes already? Mine is set for Tuesdays and Thursdays only…" she said as she showed her schedule before looking over to him.

"Why are your extracurricular classes assigned every day?" Sylvie pointed it out as every after lunch break, Rei's extra class was assigned from 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM sharp.

Hinata answered the question for her, "Assault Division Class is heavily focused on those who are practical sorcerers and half professional until graduation when they are allowed to be employed as full-time sorcerers…" she said, which made Rei confused as he looked over Haruki and Erika scratching their heads.

"How come those two are in a different sorcerer class unit or whatever while I'm in the main one?" He asked while the pink haired girl shrugged her shoulders although Erika was the one who suggested the answer.

"Could it be due to your skills and prowess?"

Her suggestion did make sense which made Hinata to think about it. An awakener who has the prowess to copy someone's prowess while being able to amplify its fire power. "It could be since Headmaster Sho only put people in the assault division class if the students are worthy of a high wasted prowess potential mastery when put to enforcer division or support division." she stated while Rei looked devastated and having an existential crisis.

"I guess goodluck?" Sylvie said while Rei nodded his head as he grabbed a couple of things that were needed for his extracurricular class before getting a quick lunch. "I hope it ain't gonna be that much work…" he muttered to himself while not noticing the trio.

The three had a debate whether to tell Rei or not about his extracurricular class but decided not to tell anything since they wouldn't want to suffer the consequences of giving someone an advantage for the class that was described to be strict and professional.

"Yeah. We hope that it will not be too much for ya…" the trio muttered simultaneously which made Rei suspicious but didn't pay attention to it although Sylvie did as she took a mental note of it to ask after eating their lunch and during the remaining time of the break.

...…

Lunch break had ended when every student had gone on their way onto their next classes while Rei had gone a minute earlier due to Hinata and Erika telling him that the venue for his next class was at the opposite side of the campus which was almost isolated compared to the other facilities.

"Why did you guys not tell Rei something important about his class?" Sylvie asked, her eyes glowing which indicated her use of prowess.

"Wait! Let us explain!" Haruki begged while the two girls sighed before explaining things to Sylvie. "If we told Rei about the Assault Division's educational classes then it would lose the purpose of something our seniors refused to tell us!" Erika said while Hinata added, "It's basically a tradition for newbies? Like to test their knowledge since Assault Division Class is made up of pure experience and on the job sorcerer training which has no fixed curriculum…"

Sylvie sighed before deactivating her prowess as the trio let out a sigh of relief. "I see… I sure hope this will be worth it before I pummel the three of you if I see him barely alive…" She glared at them which made Haruki nodded his head the most before dashing immediately for the next class.

Sylvie sighed as she prayed for Rei's safety while chatting with the other girls mainly about the extracurricular class curriculum if there was anything worth knowing and noting down as a class representative to take responsibility for each student's schedule.
