Chapter 126: Infinite Bombardment
Twenty kilometers from the harbor of Battleship Island, the two golden spear-like beams of light still remained. Sister Shao, Cole, and the others looked relaxed. By now, they were no longer surprised by Luo Han's incredible endurance.
"That guy Luo Han is seriously unbelievable. That kind of attack has lasted ten whole minutes and still hasn't stopped. And those two monsters are the same, enduring a constant onslaught for ten minutes."
Only Aishi and Sora looked visibly shaken, murmuring to themselves. During Luo Han's previous battle against Admiral Kong, aside from briefly showing a bit of his infinite firepower at the beginning, it was all defense after that. So neither of them had much of a sense of his full potential until now. This was their first real taste of Luo Han's endurance!
As for the three individuals creating this seemingly endless battle scene, they were all thinking the same thing: "What the hell! Are these two guys even capable of getting tired? Wasn't I supposed to be the chosen one?"
Luo Han was still floating high above, in front of Garp and Roger. The enormous psychic vortexes on either side of him continued firing countless golden spears, but his psychic armor mode had been deactivated—he had redirected all his energy into the attack.
"These two bastards look like they're using me for training... I seriously want to report them! What should I do?!"
Watching the increasingly energized expressions on their faces, Luo Han silently screamed inside. Just ten minutes ago, he was chilling with his psychic armor on, watching Garp and Roger try to fend off his attacks—he was one pack of sunflower seeds away from full-on spectating.
But then, five minutes in, he noticed something terrifying: Roger's slashes were getting heavier and more powerful, while Garp's fists were becoming faster and more forceful. They were actually beginning to push the golden spears back toward him.
Startled, Luo Han had leapt up in shock, suddenly struck by the realization that maybe they were the real chosen ones. Refusing to accept it, he deactivated his psychic armor and threw every ounce of his power into his golden spears.
Another five minutes passed. Now, as he watched the beams slowly pushing toward him again, Luo Han's face went completely dark.
And in that moment, he confirmed one thing: he was definitely not the main character, because he didn't have the power to level up mid-battle.
…
"Shit."
In the end, only that single word could express Luo Han's current mood.
With a thought, he reactivated his psychic armor—whoosh!—and shifted to the right.
Ching-ching! Two enormous, condensed slashes flew past where he had just been standing. Roger had fired them instinctively when Luo Han suddenly withdrew his psychic spears.
"Hmm! That kid finally stopped attacking!"
Roger floated in the air using Moonwalk, panting heavily. His hands trembled as he gripped his sword—clearly, the sustained effort had taken its toll.
Though Luo Han was frustrated about being used like a training dummy, the truth was that the ones really exhausted were Roger and Garp.
At the very least, Garp was completely drained.
"This brat must've eaten a fake Devil Fruit!"
Garp was also breathing hard, shaking his arms as he looked at his fists, which glowed red like heated steel. He shook his head—he was too tired.
"Alright, time to stop giving these two bastards a chance to power-level. Let's try explosive golden spears this time!"
Luo Han decided to switch tactics—going stealth-mode. The legendary "OB strategy." Poke and harass, no direct clashes.
With a thought, around twenty psychic vortexes appeared around Garp and Roger. From each vortex emerged a golden spear. Unlike the earlier ones, these spears were subtly different—the shaft of each was entwined with faint, crimson markings.
"Something about these new spears feels... different."
Roger's instincts were sharp; he sensed something had changed.
Garp, on the other hand, either didn't notice or didn't care. He only believed in his fists.
"Haha! Bring it on, brat! Show me what you've got—my Iron Fist will make you regret becoming a pirate!"
Garp stood tall and laughed heartily, fists clenched, battle spirit reignited. He waited for Luo Han's attacks.
Roger did the same, circling the island and ready to counterattack at any moment, but not initiating anything.
"What the hell! They're not attacking?! They really are treating me like a training bot!"
Luo Han was furious. With a flick of his eyes—whoosh! whoosh whoosh whoosh!—the spears shot out.
As the spears came flying, Garp laughed and punched forward four times, trying to swat them away like before.
Clang! Fist met spear!
"Hmm? Feels stronger than before!"
When he struck the first spear, Garp felt an increase in its force, but didn't think much of it. He prepared to knock it away and move on to the others.
But just as he thought that, Luo Han narrowed his eyes from afar and muttered in a theatrical tone: "Art... is an explosion!"
BOOM! BOOM BOOM BOOM! Four massive explosions rang out. Four 50-meter-diameter spheres of fire and force erupted around Garp's position. The blasts carried immense heat and pressure, sending shockwaves outward. The sea below surged with massive waves, and even the residents on Battleship Island felt a powerful gust sweep through the city.
"Good thing we moved halfway up the mountain!"
Looking at the chaotic streets blown crooked by the wind, everyone sighed in relief at their foresight.
Back to the battlefield—bang! Garp reappeared in the sky, his face completely black. And not metaphorically—literally blackened from the explosion.
"Hahaha! Garp! Black-charred Garp! Hahaha!"
Roger burst into uncontrollable laughter at the sight of Garp's face.
"You bastard! Still laughing?!"
Garp roared, thud thud! charging at Roger with a powerful Iron Fist.
Clang! Roger wasn't fazed—he slashed down with his sword, producing a crackling sound. Boom! Their Conqueror's Haki clashed explosively between them.
Zzz zzz! The two continued their power struggle midair. Watching from above, Luo Han gave a devilish grin.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh! Three golden beams shot down toward Garp and Roger.
"This damn brat's ambushing us now!" the two cursed inwardly. With a bang, they used each other's force to leap away from the impact zone.
BOOM BOOM BOOM! The three spears exploded almost simultaneously. The two dodged in time and weren't injured.
They exchanged glances, seeming to make a secret pact, then rushed together at Luo Han.
"Trying to avoid the explosions with close combat? I won't let you have your way!"
Luo Han kept his distance, refusing to let Garp and Roger close in. After all, he was the fastest one there.
As the two charged him, they were met with a barrage of explosive golden spears. It quickly became a messy scene, especially for Garp.
Luo Han always timed the explosions right after Garp's punches collided with a spear, when the force was weakest. Garp was repeatedly blasted away by the impact.
Roger fared better. His swift swordplay allowed him to intercept most incoming spears midair. But Luo Han eventually increased the number targeting Roger by several times. Forced on the defensive, even Roger had to dodge.
Occasionally, he'd find a chance to send a few slashes at Luo Han, but Luo Han always managed to evade.
And so, Garp and Roger found themselves endlessly bombarded by Luo Han's explosive spears from all directions. Still trying to close in, they had to constantly dodge attacks coming from every angle—left, right, above, below, front, back. It really did look like they were dancing midair, with explosive sound effects going off like a wild musical performance.
